The Super Rod is found via talking to a fisherman in a house south of Lavender (iirc, Route 12)
Magnet Train ticket - first restore power to the Power Plant in Kanto. Then talk to the CopyCat girl in Saffron City (house a bit south of the Magnet Train station). Go to the Pokemon Fan club in Vermillion, get a clefairy doll from the man there and take it back to the CopyCat girl for a Magnet Train ticket.
