1st Gen Missingno/Item duplication

    Basically, TMs are scarce, so I want to duplicate them. However, I don't want any long lasting glitchy effects like graphical glitches and the like. Anyone know much about the Missingno glitch? So far as, what will happen from merely encountering it? Apparently it messes up any existing hall of fames, but I think that might be it. If that's all encountering does then I'll do the duplication glitch.
     
    You'll be fine

    Just do the old man trick. Put your item in 6th position then surf up and down the glitch side of cinnabar. Encounter "M" or Missingno and simply run.

    This glitch is great because you can keep swapping items whilst on the island and duplicating many items without having to fly back and forth. The only thing that glitches is the number of items displayed. Just chuck 10 or 11 and it goes to 98 or whatever, the game can't display 100.
     
    Awesome, thanks then. Although I'm on Yellow so I'll have to do it through the dittos in the pokemon mansion. Tedious, but it'll get the job done.
