Really, I think both are quality characters if they're written correctly. Misty can be delightfully bossy but still considerate, while May can be likeably naive but still strategic. Unfortunately, Misty's personality was drastically twisted during the Johto years, when she was basically shunted into the background and became considerably flat in terms of personality (save for episodes like "The Totodile Duel", etc.). Undoubtedly, this is why they wrote her out in Season 6 - they didn't want to write for her anymore. May hasn't gotten a chance for that to happen, however, since she's been kept busy with the contests, so her character is still developing. So, both are great, but only when they're in the hands of competent writers.

Oops, I'm sorry - this is one of those "Which one do you think Ash should be dating?" threads. Disregard.
 
Clair: I like Misty because she looks like Liza and she's really pretty. I also talked to her about Ash and she said that she really loved him. And btw anyone who looks like Liza is a winner because Liza pwns all.
And I do like May but I'm just not into her thing.
 
Misty's just bossy because she likes Ash. Come on, that's no reason to hate a character.

Misty is my favorite of the two, and she should come back. I think the show's creators would be stupid not to bring her back.
 
Misty or May?

I like May more than Misty because of one reason. May and Ash don't fight a lot unlike Ash and Misty. Besides, I just don't see Ash and Misty together. I just don't.

However, I'm not a big Misty fan.

Every time Ash does something stupid, or wrong, Misty usually gets on his case about it. And I usually hate it when somebody puts Ash down because he's a little dense. That is what makes Ash Ash. As the series went on, I've grown to dislike Misty and wished I could just shut her up with all her talk about how Water Pokemon are so good. All it takes is a jolt of Lighting to take a Water Pokemon out of the fight.

Now just let me get behind something to shield myself from the flames I'm getting. XD
 
Quagsire and Whiscash might have something to say about the jolt of lightning.


Ash had clearly had a crush on Misty for a while...but I don't believe we will ever see it happen...just a hunch.

I hope people will lighten up on them being "Friends" instead of enemys cus of Ash.
 
There the same i think because they are both annyoing in there own way but they look alike.

misty rocks but may ruined the series she cares more about dating then pokemon take may away give back misty
 
Here i will edit what i made a thread about.

I say there souldn't be any Misty and May wars.Who are we to dicide Ashes love life? Misty is strong and smart also caring sometimes.May is kind and caring also sweet sometimes.They have so much in common that the only thing that started the fights were there differents and how they weren't the same.I bet that if they hade a true chance to be them selves and meet they would be the greatest friends ever.So hopefully there will not be any May and Misty wars and people will lighten to love them both.
 
Well, if you ask me... In the Avance Generation, instead of Brock it should be Misty, to be honest. I actually dislike Brock...
Anyways, then why is it that in the Pok?mon Kanto CD, there's a music about love that Misty sings to Ash, while he's sleeping?
Anyways, I also like May, but I still think that Misty's better...

Unfortunately, the creators of the CDs and the ones who actually produce the show are on different levels, so you really can't say anything about the song. Don't get me wrong, I love the song, but it just doesn't seem likely.

Just in case, I want to repeat myself. Although Japan creates the episodes, they keep tabs on what the other versions are expressing. Hopefully, they'll finish what 4Kids have been trying to do for a long time.

Oh, and I like Misty more than May right now. Only reason now is because I know more about the red-head than the bandana one. I'm keeping my options open.

Because the song was made in the US. The country that DOES NOT make the Pok?mon anime. The dub's hinted there being something between the two when the Japanese version barely has anything. :|
 
i voted May (Haruka) by two reasons:

1) I'm a huge advancedshipper
2) kasumi was kind of scary to me... and Haruka is a better character and she should be with Satoshi
