    Any MMA fans out there?

Post your favorite fighters, favorite individual fights, favorite techniques, your personal martial arts experience or anything else related to Mixed Martial Arts.

My favorite fighters: Fedor, Anderson Silva, Wanderlei Silva, Urijah Faber, GSP

Favorite Fights: Faber vs Brown 2, Griffin vs Bonnar 1, Anderson Silva vs Griffin, Wanderlei Silva vs Quinton Jackson (the first two)

I've been involved in the martial arts since the age of 5 (20 now). My main art is/was American Kenpo, but I've done some Judo, Jujitsu, Wrestling and other arts a bit.

What kind of workouts do you do for mma?

MMA takes a lot of different workouts. Obviously, you need to work on striking, which is generally boxing, kickboxing or muay thai for most MMA fighters. After that, you need wrestling and/or judo to work your basic grappling. From there, you need jujitsu or even more judo. To fight competitively, one needs to be in great shape, so you'd need a good strength and conditioning program.
Long story short: striking, grappling, submission, strength (weights/kettlebells) and stamina (treadmill/stationary bike/running outside/whatever).

I don't do any competition due to several reasons. I'm in school, which is my main priority. Another big problem is that I already have bad knees and a bad back, so my body wouldn't be able to handle the schedule required. I enjoy learning, but unfortunately, will never be able to get into a ring or cage to try my hand at competing in mixed martial arts. Despite this, I am content being a fan of the sport.

    Ikuhisa "The Punk" Minowa

YES! MINOWAMAN for the win! Superhulk champ, baby! Did you see his shoulder roll into single leg takedown into pwnage fight? I think the guy's name was Giant Silva. Awful fighter, but it's MINOWAMAN awesomeness.

Yeah, he landed the commando roll against giant silva. He went for it a few other times, basically whenever he fights a SHW all the tricks come out the bag.

I just think he is a fantastic person and performer. Winning the superhulk tournament was the most appropriate achievement for a career like his. And then wearing the belt that was made by one of his child fans. It's great. He is a real life superhero.

I'm a big Takanori Gomi fan. I'm excited to see his UFC run.

I hope he can make a run, but I can't see it.

Unless he goes back to his Shooto days and just LnPs everyone.
