Funny, my friend who I battle every so often IRL is working on a mono-dark team.

    Hhm. Taunt has interesting potential.

    Houndoom (M) @ Lum Berry
    Trait: Flash Fire
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Beat Up
    - Hidden Power [Ice]

    - Pursuit

    Needs HP Grass IMO

    Umbreon (M) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Synchronize
    EVs: 244 HP / 172 Def / 92 SDef
    Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
    - Baton Pass

Rather have Taunt, but sure. Do something funny and give Umbreon Snatch.

    Sharpedo (M) @ Choice Band
    Trait: Rough Skin
    EVs: 236 Atk / 252 Spd / 20 SAtk
    Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
    - Earthquake
    - Hidden Power [Ghost]
    - Hydro Pump
    - Hyper Beam

I want to give Sharpedo Ice Beam, I really do. Choice Band looks fun though.

    Cacturne (M) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Sand Veil
    EVs: 156 HP / 212 Atk / 140 SAtk
    Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)
    - Focus Punch
    - Substitute
    - Teeter Dance
    - Thunderpunch

Ok, sure. Try Brave nature to get the Sub-punch. Also needs more Needle Arm.

    Murkrow (M) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Insomnia
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Drill Peck
    - Shadow Ball
    - Substitute
    - Thunder Wave

It's one of those cases I want to give five moves. Torment or Taunt.

Looks a bit awkward, but could be fun. Swampert gives you grief without HP Grass. Gengar has fun with this team as well, especially McIce version. I'd like to make room for Sableye or Shiftry somewhere as well, but that's just personal preference.

I've expected McIceGar, which is why Houndoom is there. Beat Up + Pursuit = Houndoom winnar. I'm not sure about Shiftry as it's so cool that they gave it too many moves for someone to make a decisve set on .-.
Sableye wouldn't do anything with my SD passes.

What's up with Sharpedo having Hyper Beam? Sharpedo has way too low defenses to survive even the usage of one Hyper Beam. I know Smogon suggests Hyper Beam on Sharpedo (that's the main reason I rarely even bother checking out their moveset suggestions <.<), but Smogon isn't always right, you know (just about 95% of the time x_x).
This Sharpedo set will surely work better than one with Hyper Beam:

    Sharpedo @ Choice Band
    Hasty/Lonely
EVs: 252 Atk / 236 Spd / 20 SAtk, or alternatively, you could just throw all EVs in Attack and Speed and add the four remaining points in Special Attack
    - Double-edge/Return
    - Earthquake
    - Hidden Power [FLYING/GHOST/BUG]
    - Hydro Pump/Ice Beam

I use this set on almost every team I make (mainly because all of them happen to be UU/NU) and it kicks butt. Double-edge is there to increase the chances of Sharpedo OHKoing the opponent, Earthquake takes care of Tyranitar/Manectric/Raichu/Metagross and other Pokémon with a weakness against Ground type attacks on the switch, Hidden Power Flying takes care of Hera and HP Bug (even though I have never used it before) takes care of Psychic and Grass types. Ice Beam if you want to play around with mence and Hydro Pump can do some damage to Skarm.
The idea of a Hyper Beaming Sharpedo is scary, especialy considering it has a wide enough movepool to have a good CB set without it.

I plan use Hyper Beam only when I know Sharpedo is pretty much finished. I actually didn't pull that up from smogon, to be honest. Double-Edge was my first choice, but I've been using Stalkerlax so long it got boring to use it. I had used Return at one point in time on another mono dark, but it wasn't doing the damage I needed. So I decided to go against my religious beliefs and use Hyper Beam, as sucky as it is.

Not that I didn't appreciate the comments and concern, mind you, I'm just explaining things.

Needs Tyranitar, honestly, but sand stream would do more damage to my team than I could unflict on the opponent.

Hyper Beam is good for a ''poor man's selfdestruct'' although it may let the next poke get setup time in.

    :D Absol <3

    Houndoom (M) @ Lum Berry
    Trait: Flash Fire
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Beat Up
    - Hidden Power [Ice]
    - Overheat
    - Pursuit

Substitute on Houndoom can actually be pretty cool.

    Umbreon (M) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Synchronize
    EVs: 244 HP / 172 Def / 92 SDef
    Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
    - Baton Pass
    - Protect
    - Substitute
    - Wish

Mean Look NEEDS to be on this if you want a prayer at this team's success. Lock something in, pass to Absol, continue the gauntlet. Don't tell me you've lost your MeanPassing ways! =o

    Sharpedo (M) @ Choice Band
    Trait: Rough Skin
    EVs: 236 Atk / 252 Spd / 20 SAtk
    Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
    - Earthquake
    - Hidden Power [Ghost]
    - Hydro Pump
    - Hyper Beam

This this is actually infinitely cooler as a special sweeper, as proven to me in the UU metagame at PR. If you want, I'll go ahead and find out the specifics for you.

    Cacturne (M) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Sand Veil
    EVs: 156 HP / 212 Atk / 140 SAtk
    Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)
    - Focus Punch
    - Substitute
    - Teeter Dance
    - Thunderpunch

    ZOMG CACTURNE WEAK

    Murkrow (M) @ Leftovers
    Trait: Insomnia
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Drill Peck
    - Shadow Ball
    - Substitute
    - Thunder Wave
    Caw.

I really don't think DDtar would be too shabby of an option on this team, especially if you decide to run Mean Look on Umby. As to the damage issue, you've got to step away from your standard style of play and just throw some muscle over finesse.

umby's standard style of play cannot be utilized in dark pokemon warfare, as Umbreon is my only way of stalling.
