I had started the game by choosing Bulbasaur as my starter, As I was leaving the Lab, My Rival Green challenged me to a battle. Me against his Charmander, it was a pretty close battle, because we were the same level and about the same amout of moves, but I beat him!

As I left the lab and got the Potion in my PC, I headed straight off to Viridian City, and defeated some Pokemon along the way. I also received a Potion from a man who told me to head off the Pokemart in Viridian City. I healed my Pokemon at the Pokemon Center and when I reached the Pokemart, I received a parcel from the clerk for Prof. Oak.

I brought back the parcel for Prof, Oak, wasn't that nice of me? Just went I gave it to him, my rival came back and Prof. Oak remembered why he called Green. He handed both of us a Pokedex to record data of Pokemon because he's old. That's pretty lazy of him. Green said that his sister has a Town Map and he would tell her not to give me a map. When I went to Daisy, she kindly handed me a map and agreed with me that Prof. Oak was being lazy :P

hmm. If chizardcharz is gonna do fire, then I'd like to do something else. perhaps ground. Is that alright... can you catch a ground type before Brock??

I can't really think of any that would fit the description until after Brock's gym, inside Mt. Moon. then I could get a Geodude.

OR

I could load a clean fire red into the Advance map, and make Geodude availble for catch on route one, but that would count as hacking.

Is sandshrew available? On the route to the Pokemon league?

edit: No, it's not
