3rd Gen Monotype Challenge - Kanto

Ok, here is my first update ^^.

+ Started new game on Firered
+ Named self "Sundown"
+ Named rival "Humbolt"
+ Chose Charmander as starter (lol easier for meeee)
+ Beat Rival
+ Got Oak's Parcel
+ Got Pokedex
+ Got Town Map
+ Watched Old Man catch a Weedle
+ Caught my first Electric type :D - Stunt the female Pikachu at level 3
+ Grinded to level 9
+ Beat Humbolt's level 9 Pidgey and Squirtle easily
+ Took a whack at the gym trainer in Pewter - got killed
+ Currently grinding until I can kill Brock with Quick Attack :/

Would it be cheating if I used a Mankey to kill Brock? It's taken me 45 minutes to get half the EXP bar filled on level 14 :/. This is really tedious.

Hm. Well, I think I'm gunna deal and grind till level 20 when Stunt learns Slam, but I might take Mankey along, just in case :/. I really wanna do this challenge the right way.

I'm currently trying to level up Giolla though. I wants me a Weepinbell. XD

Hmm. Well, I've grinded Stunt to level 17, I'm gunna keep trying. If I can't beat Brock in the next day, I'm gunna drop Electric and try something else lol.

fire monotype!

1. started off in pallet town
2. named myself Pyro
3. named rival MEOW
4. thought i'd take a walk and was attacked by prof. oak
5. he dragged me to his lab
6. i stole a charmander
7. MEOW confronted me with his squirtle
8. i kicked his buttocks
9. i ran away
10. felt bad and went back
11. i became prof. oaks errand boy
12. got his "stuff"' at viridian city and did the errand
13. forget to get the map ^^;
14. headed through viridian forest
15. demolished it with ember >:D
16. by this time i was lv. 15
17. challenged brock
18. was humiliatingly defeated twice :(
19. charmander refused to evolved, he wanted to show brock he can defeat him in his primary evolution stage, awww
20. leveled up a level in grass to lv 18 (after brock charmander was in lv 17)
21. charmander prevailed with metal claw!!!
22. got through all the trainers in route 3
23. stared nervously at mt. moon gulp

• Got through mt moon with difficulty
• Chose helix fossil
• Lv. 25 after mt moon
• Met up with the fighting duo guys
• Forgot to heal at pokemon center and rushed into battle with MEOW ^^;
• Surprisingly won with ease!
• Fought through nugget bridge
• Charmander decided to evolve while fighting the team rocket guy to toughen up for mistys battle
• Headed east through route 25
• Crushed everyone
• Met up with bill
• Headed back to cerulean, to defeat misty!!
• Beat her petty gym trainers
• Defeated her the first try with a wee bit difficulty with starmie, but lv 30 chameleon prevailed!
• Left cerulean, killed the grunt; received tm dig
• Headed south to vermillion, crushing every trainer along the way >:D
• Arrived to vermillion city!!
• Recieved vs. Seeker & bike voucher & old rod :|
• Traded spearow for farfetch'd on accident, but good for pokedex
• Headed east for some easy exp. From trainers
• Headed to s.s anne
• Charmeleon evolves
• bombed the ship
• headed towards lt. surge.

I think I'll give this a go with Psychic as well. (Lol sorry. I haven't done a Psychic run, and next to Water, it's my second favourite type.)
Although don't expect me to finish it. I mean, I might, but as you can see, I still haven't even finished my two Water monotype challenges. :\ *procrastinates*
I guess I get bored too easily. I've also been re-addicted to Harvest Moon games lately. So I guess I'll just see how far I get before I (maybe) give up.

iDawg, I have a question. Are we allowed to catch pokemon, not in our type, as long as we go straight to a box and aren't used in battle, in order to get itemfinder, Flash, etc.
If not, then let me know. I don't wanna do it unless it is okay. <3

yup, it is defintaly alright. you can catch any pokemon, as long as you dont use it in battle (like for migrating, HM Slaving, or for dex info) its fine =D
