I know that certain damage types are effected by special attack and others are effected by Physical attack but i heard there are some exceptions..

For example i heard razor leaf was physical damage as well as outrage...
Maybe these are just lies but can someone clear which moves are what up for me just to be clear, thanks.

Before Diamond and Pearl, whether a move was physical or special was determined by the type. However, since Diamond and Pearl, being physical/special is a characteristic of each individual move. Type no longer has anything to do with it.

In general, moves that involve physical contact (such as punches, jabs, kicks, assaults, fangs and tackles) are considered physical, whereas moves that involve attacking from a distance (such as bolts, beams, rays, blasts, waves, and winds) are considered special. Moves that don't actually involve doing damage are neither physical nor special (Other). For a full list of which moves are physical or special, consult Serebii's attackdex here.

t3hjolteon is correct. For your example gee2k8, razor leaf and outrage are special attacks.

Razor Leaf is physical because it THROWS the leaf.
    Outrage...is cos you smash them?
    I dunno...

    What..
Oops I was talking about 4th Gen.

In R/S/E/FR/LG, Razor and Outrage and Sp.
In D/P/P, Razor is Atk, not sure about Outrage.
    Cleared up?

A said, 4th gen brought the physical/special split, where it was decided on the move itself rather than type. However 3rd gen and previous worked by type, so all moves of a type would all be physical or special, more specifically:
    Physical attack types:
    Bug
    Fighting
    Flying
    Ghost
    Ground
    Normal
    Poison
    Rock
    Steel

    Special attack types:
    Dark
    Dragon
    Electric
    Fire
    Grass
    Ice
    Water
    Psychic

Although there are also different classifications for conatact and non contact moves IIRC...

For instance when battling Sharpedos and Carvahnas, not all Normal moves cause you to take damage due to Rough Skin.
