The title basicly says it. I just started a new game on my Emerald version, and I chose a Treecko as my first Pokémon. It's lv.26 right now, and I need help with which moves would go perfectly with it. And no, I'm not planning to evolve it just yet.

I'd appreciate it, if you could help.

It has a mild nature. And a defensive move could help out a lot, since it has a low defensive stat but high attack stat.

it's special attack is 20 points higher on the base. mild is quite all right, because it is plu special attack, and minus defence, but hey, maybe you could remove solarbeam and sunny day, and fill them up with gigadrain and maybe toxic, for some anoying. personally i dont think treecko is the best, but has the looks:P

    Thats a terrible moveset Flamman...

I'm hoping that it is a girl because treecko really needs the moves that it can get bred on such as leech seed. You might even want to reset until you get a female treecko

    If its a girl.
    Treecko@leftovers
    Timid/Modest
    ~Leech Seed
    ~Substitute
    ~Leaf Blade
    ~Thunderpunch (Battle Frontier)

The strategy is to use leech seed and then substitute until ur opponent gets weak enough to kill with Leafblade/Thunderpunch

Mild is an ok nature but modest is better...
    Treecko@Leftovers
    Mild nature
    ~Leaf Blade
    ~Thunderpunch
    ~Substitute/Sword Dance
    ~Focus Punch/Brick Break

Thats a good nature for the above moveset

dude, he's just started, so i did with his pokemon how it is, with a mild nature, i think not so far in the game, and for your information:

    TREECKO CAN'T LEARN LEAF BLADE!!!

breeding is indeed the best thing u can do.

But can't Treecko learn Leaf Blade if it has a higher level, even without evolution?

treecko can never learn leaf blade, not even through level up, only grovyle and sceptile can learn leaf blade.

Well I gave him the correct moveset because not evolving a pokemon is stupid unless it's a pokemon that doesnt need it (pikachu)
    Treecko can still subseed

I only thought of evolving it to a Grovyle. But is it important if I choose to evolve it to a Sceptile?

An unevolved Treecko is a VERY SAD Treecko. Keep a cute little Treecko in your PC, if you want, but you are doing it a dis-service by not evolving it and opening it up to the best Grass move in the game.

BTW - Like Blaziken, most of Sceptile's best moves cannot be obtained until after the E4 and you have earned enough BP in the BF to afford them. That is why Swampert is easily the best in-game starter, not to mention the greatest starter ever.

Don't worry about that. I evolved it, and let it learn Leaf Blade.

I used to always use Mudkip as my first starter, I just wanted to switch to a different one for a change. But if you say it's the best, I know a way I can add it so I won't have to restart the game.

Sceptile outspeeds practicly everything in-game and its Special Attack is nothing to laught at either. Mild is sort of cool because it doesn't lower Attack and its Attack is about as decent as its Special Attack, so Earthquake and possibly even Quick Attack or Return are options for it.

    Sceptile @ Leftovers
    Trait: Overgrow
    Mild Nature (+SAtk, -Def)
    - Dragon Claw / Earthquake / Quick Attack / Return / Thunderpunch / Filler
    - Leaf Blade
    - Dragon Claw / Earthquake / Quick Attack / Return / Thunderpunch / Filler
    - Dragon Claw / Earthquake / Quick Attack / Return / Thunderpunch / Filler

Something like that I guess. Thunderpunch might be hard to get but you should definately have Dragon Claw somewhere in there if you can't get it. Earthquake or Return are great too.

Yeah, I know where to get Dragon Claw. But where can you find Thunder Punch?

Before I start, I want to know if this moveset is good or not.

    Sceptile @ Leftovers
    Mild Nature

    - Leaf Blade
    - Dragon Claw
    - Thunder Punch/Earthquake
    - Swords Dance

    ^ Is that okay?

I have no clue on how to suggest good movesets for Pokémon, so don't bite me.

No SD if you won't use EQ.

These are the best movesets... The on you posted doesnt work as swords dance boosts physical attacks not Dragon Claw, Leaf Blade, and Thunderpunch. And Earthquake is a great TM but you'd be waisting it by using it on Sceptile as it's subseed moveset is the best...

Trust me do this as you said your sceptile was a girl

    1. Breed your treecko/grovyle with a male shroomish/roselia/cacturne that knows the move leech seed.
    2. The resulting offspring will be a level 5 treecko knowing the move leech seed

REMEMBER this only works if your treecko is female

Then level it up to learn leafblade...
Give it substitute from the move tutor in Lilycove...
Give it thunderpunch from the battle frontier

There thats the best moveset... The other one is for if you don't want to breed

lol, Flame Demon. Don't EVER suggest Return on Pokemon who don't get Normal STAB, especially a Sceptile who can learn so many better moves. And you're better off not suggesting Earthquake or Quick Attack either.

    Also, hi Ryan!
Listen to Frost please, and go with the first one. Best Sceptile set.

Alright, I'll go with your suggestion, it sounds great too. Thank you.

Never suggest Subseed ingame unless you want to be crap and waste time when you can easily go Special Sweeping with Leaf Blade/Dragon Claw/Crunch or Substitute/Thunderpunch.
