Here's the third list I'm thinking of bringing to FNM this week. I always build decks on packages, and I thought of two in particular that stood out as extremely powerful: Jace and Koth, and Trinket Mage and Basilisk Collar.
-18- Creatures
-2- Spikeshot Elder
-4- Wall of Tanglecord
-3- Trinket Mage
-3- Cunning Sparkmage
-2- Frost Titan
-2- Inferno Titan
-2- Wurmcoil Engine
-18- Other Spells
-2- Everflowing Chalice
-2- Basilisk Collar
-4- Lightning Bolt
-4- Mana Leak
-4- Jace, the Mind Sculptor
-2- Koth of the Hammer
-24- Lands
-4- Scalding Tarn
-4- Tectonic Edge
-9- Mountain
-7- Island
Anti-creature control seems like such a dreary, glass-cannon archetype to be trying in Standard, but I can't help but want to play my two favorite colors right now.
I'll probably construct a permission-heavy sideboard to combat control decks. 4 Ruinblasters, a package of Negates and Flashfreezes, and then maybe Mark of Mutiny against ramp decks.
The deck is simple, you just stall out to get your engine going and eat whatever they throw at you. The only problem this deck has is Avenger of Zendikar on paper; the deck can't race a bunch of 4/5's.
Let me know what you think! =)
