RIP Chompy... Hello Zekrom!

Now, I've been working on this for a week... and each time I finish the team, I see a weakness, (or a threat in the Threat List) and i scrap the whole thing, but keep the same idea and goal in mind.

I'm trying to set up a sweep for Dragonite (Cuz Chompy is illegal, RIP). Most likely with entry hazards and status effects, but I can't seem to focus or get a good strategy down. I'll test the team, and it'll just be too sloppy to ACTUALLY work online.

So, here's what I've put together thus far...

    Lead-Gliscor
EVs Max HP, 216 SPE, 41 DEF
    ~Stealth Rock
    ~Earthquake
    ~Roost
    ~Taunt

A change of Leads. Azelf didn't seem to fit (thank you Dark Azelf) so I'm running Gliscor now. Hopefully this investment in speed will be enough to outpace some of the more common leads like Azelf and Aerodactyl.

    SpikeSpinner-Forretress@Leftovers
    EVs 252 HP, 112 ATK, 144 DEF
    ~Spikes
    ~Rapid Spin
    ~Payback
    ~Explosion

Unfortunately when people see Forretress, they think, OH NOEZ Rapid Spin Spiker!!! Go Rotom/Dusky/Gengar. Switches in after Gliscor, sets the spikes, and blows up. Payback to surprise ghost types trying to spin block.

    Tank-Dusknoir@Leftovers
    EVs 252 HP, 28 ATK, 228 DEF
    ~Pain Split
    ~Thunderpunch
    ~ShadowPunch
    ~Will-o-Wisp

I'm keeping Dusknoir, considering Rotom Formes change back when they go into wifi, and thats all I'll be doing with this team. He makes things worse for the enemy, while still being able to take down DD Gyarados, who's expecting it to pack Ice Punch. Shadow Punch is... optional. I haven't decided what to put there for sure, considering SP has a BP of 60. Something with a bit more OOMPH but retains STAB would help him take down bulkier stallers.

    SteelTrapper-Magnezone@Leftovers
    EVs 40 ATK, 216 SPE, 252 SpATK
    ~Substitute
    ~Thunderbolt
    ~Hidden Power Grass
    ~Magnet Rise

Better at taking down Dragonites counters. Hidden Power Grass is preffered over Fire, just because this lets it get at least neutral coverage over everything but Dragon and Grass.

    Special Sweeper/Protector-Starmie@Life Orb
    EVs 4 HP, 252 SpATK, 252 SPE
    ~Surf
    ~Thunderbolt
    ~Ice Beam
    ~Recover

As Phazon pointed out, I needed a Special Sweeper. I also needed a counter to T-Tar and Infernape. I put everything into speed and spec attack, but that does leave him a bit vulerable. Otherwise, classic bolt beam combo. (even though i hate Starmie) ;)

    Main Sweeper-Dragonite@Life Orb
    EVs 252 ATK, 252 SPE, 252 HP
    ~Dragon Dance
    ~Outrage
    ~Extremespeed
    ~Aqua Tail

An inferior Salamence you say? Not so! Less ATK by 2, okay, fine. But greater DEF, SpDEF, and SPE in the long run. After the enemy has been burned, poisoned, and or fainted, Dragonite has a rather easy time of setting up a DD or two, and with a powerful priority move that he finally got with HGSS, he can do even more damage late in the game.

EDIT: A bit more sturdy of a team. I'll get to work on these changes soon. Any more help would be greatly appreciated!

There's only 1 special move on your entire team. I'd say you need a special sweeper like Gengar to replace 1 of your last 3 Pokemon since they're all pretty much physical sweepers.

D-nite wants Aqua Tail >> EQ. This lets you 2hko Skarm after a dd sometimes who currently resists your whole set. It also 2HKO'S Bronzong.

Magnezone >> Meta takes out Nites checks better, meta sucks at that as they have totally different counters. Zone can at least trap steels.

Those Honchkrow evs make no sense. Max speed and Att plz. Honchkrow is rather random too, you need a MixApe/Heatran check/counter here too. Starmie, Tentacruel etc all work.

    Dusknoir is an inferior Rotom-A.

Forry wants Payback over T-Spikes. This OHKO's Gengar, 2HKO's offensive Rotom and 3hko's Defensive Noir and Rotom-A. T-Spikes conflict with Dusknoirs Will-O-wisp which means if T-Tar switches into T-Spikes then Dusknoir is a good as gone and becomes Pursuit bait. Max Hp and SDef is also better imo.

Anyway T-Tar and Lucario decimate you, put Gliscor over Azelf, Azelf just doesn't fit in. Taunt/SR/Roost/EQ max hp / 42 def / 216 speed @ Jolly works.

After being burned, poisoned, and or fainted, Dragonite has a rather easy time of setting up a DD or two

Umm how can it sweep after ANY of that ?__?

    okay, soo... lets see here.
    1. Dnite needs aqua tail
    2. Replace Meta with Magne
    2.5. Replace Honchy with Starmie
    3. Rotom, i'm curious about, since i've tried to get it to work in Trainer house and wifi room, but it always reverts. Solution?
    4. I'm constantly worried about pokemon who Spikes don't affect, so willowisp seemed like a fine option to cripple salamence and scizor, who can't be poisoned to begin with.
    5. I'll try out Gliscor but, he doesn't reach the same speed does he? I'll look into that.
    6. Thats the basis of the strategy, well, most strategies, is that when an entire team is weakened enough by status, its easier for a late game sweeper to come in and set up.

But thank you! I wouldn't have thought of all that on my own. Like I said, shaky with the team building thing.

Umm how can it sweep after ANY of that ?__?

Lol, maybe you got the wrong idea, after the enemy is burned or poisoned or fainted, he's easy to set up. Lol, I just saw how that could have been misconstrued.
