I hope you don't mind, but I just changed the last line of your post to merit some discussion. I think you have a great thread idea going on here and I'd hate to see it get locked. :)

I have the first Pokedex that came out during the debut of the anime. So I can't say it's very advanced or as amazing as your's probably is, but I still think it's pretty cool. :D I have to say though one of the biggest challenges after getting one was spelling all of the Pokemon names right just to look them up. Mind you, I was only about six at the time and so the only Pokemon's name I could spell was Eevee. D: Plus I didn't know you could look them up by their assigned Pokedex number either.

I got that one as well, it was probably my favourite Pokemon accessory I had outside the game (well excluding an awesome Onix that I made myself), it was great to be able to look up all the pokemon and I'm pretty sure I still have it if I look through my parents loft. These days I'll admit I've outgrown the toys but at the time (and for a good bit into my teens) it was brilliant, even though by today's technology it's probably laughable. So if you (or anyone) is still able to get the same thrill I had when I was younger then I envy you, since for me it's just a fond memory of me wandering around the forest behind my house with my Pokedex and Onix :)

I have a pokedex app on my iphone and i did have the very original pokedex but i threw it away recently when we renovated out house

I use to have the original Pokedex, but some 3rd grader stole it :[ I was very sad that day. I was so excited because I wanted to feel smarter than the other kids because my Pokedex had a calculator. I guess thats what I got for bragging so much. Boy do I miss my Pokedex....

I remember when the PokeDex toy came out.

It has a glitch in its search function though I noticed.
Normally, if you spell something wrong, it won't find it, but spell it right and it will.
The exception I found was Pidgeotto, though, cause even if you spelled it right, it wouldn't find anything.

I never picked up anything after the Kanto one.
Not even the Modern Kanto Dex.

I might use the online shops like Ebay to find them later though.
Pretty handy for playing with, especially if, like me and a few friend used to do, record Pokemon videos. XD
