4th Gen my chain broke

i was chaining wobbafet and i went the next square it was a another wobbafet and when i finshed the battle and the chain broke i was like wtf how did that happen does anyone have any ideas on what happened?

maybe you were getting tired and you didn't notice the grass shaking..happens to me.. lol.

There's never going to be any patches of grass that will guarantee your chain will continue going, just because a patch looks good, doesn't mean it is. Just keep trying and eventually you'll make it to 40, it takes what I call the 3 P's patience, practice, and ph(f)ocus >.>

theres nothing guaranteeing the species of pokemon in the square but if in every direction four spaces there are no obstacles you are guaranteed to continue the streak IF the species of pokemon in the square is the correct one (meaning the grass will not be silent, the problem the topic poster had)

Your chain might have ended if the spot you choose happened to be near the boundary of the grassy area.

Yea chain's seem to break for no reason sometimes...

THe higher your chain goes, the more chance you will break it. Increase your chance by say, having magnet pull ability pokemon first while chaining wild magnemite etc.
