do you go out of your way to only/mostly use Pokémon added in the latest generation, or are you fine mixing and matching older generational Pokémon in as well?

i've done this in Sun. My main team is Primarina, Decidueye, Dugtrio-A, Marowak-A, Raichu-A, and Buzzwole. I really like Alolan Forms, ahha. It's funny though, in Gen 6 I didn't know very many of the new Pokémon so I actually found myself using older ones more, and I was too lazy to go look up the types/movesets of new Pokémon to see if they'd be any good.

i never usually stick to my original planned team, but on my first playthrough of a new game, i'll always use new pokémon to that region. i actually struggled with sun & moon to find and keep six new pokémon to use which is partially why i bought sun to make up the rest of the new mons i wanted to use!

I'd already planned out my team before I played SM so I made sure my team was split 50/50 with new and old Pokemon. My team is Incineror, Toucannon, Kammo-o, Kingdra, Umbreon and Sneasel :3
