My DS Just Broke

Sorry to say this, but I say: suck it up. If what you say is true, then a dsi should be the last thing on your mind. You're right when you say you're lucky to be paid minimum wage and have that job, so why waste it on a dsi when your ds lite still works? You should be saving up for college, or a labtop, or something useful.

You may think I'm mean for saying this, but you have to think for a minute here. What's more practical? Saving up for a dsi and waiting of the price to go down and until your ds lite dies, or wasting all your efforts just buying one now? I've had my original blue ds since middle school. I'm going to be a senior in high school this year. My ipod nano (the discontinued version) has also lasted quite a while and yeah, sometimes it just randomly likes to die on me, but that doesn't mean I have the ability to just go out and waste 200+ dollars on getting a new one.

Now, if it didn't work, that might be a different story, but right now I don't see why you can't just wait and then later get a dsi. You should save up a bit of money first, and wait until your ds lite dies before buying a dsi.. The price will probably go down a little by then, ultimately saving you more money.

Have you tried glueing the hinges back together? Also you can always just play on an elevated surface, like a pillow or something, which can hold you ds lite up somewhat.

^ Haha, please tell me you're trolling, you can't be serious "You should be saving for college or a laptop or whatevers useful", when you have a part time job wdf is the point of leaving money sitting in your bank account buy what you want and enjoy it whilst your young, if you want to save then save, if you want to spend then spend,, and when you're I'm going to assume he's 15-17 cause he said he's in middle school it isn't hard at all finding a job at a fast food store or whatnot. You seriously don't have a clue.

Sorry, but you are the one who does not have a clue. Middle school? Well, if you had actually bothered to read the posts before you, you would have noticed that he's in high school. Stop bashing me for giving advice, inconsiderate noob. College is expensive. If I had a job I would be saving up now, for things that matter now, and will also matter probably years down the road from now. Don't think it's a waste of time to save money. I'd love to see you in college with your part time job. Oh wait, you won't be in college because you'll have no MONEY! :O

This thread is pointless to me now. No need for pointless arguments with people who need to grow brains.
/trots away

Well I do save half of my paychecks in the bank. My parents aren't going to pay for my college.

I work at McDonalds, and I make 6.55 an hour since that's minimum wage here. But it goes up to 7.25 an hour in a couple weeks, plus I'm going to work a lot more.

And as for sucking it up, what's the point? I had to super glue it back together just to keep it from falling apart. It can't close, and it has a hole in it from where the hinge was coming out. The super glue will only last so long.

And there really isn't a use for this thread anymore, since I already decided that I was going to get a DSi. And I don't think it's a waste when I can save and buy a DSi.

All i have to say is i don't intend on buying a dsi... ever. I'll just stick with a ds lite and use a flash cart so i won't have to pay for games.

Also... guitar hero anyone? Nintendo pretty much killed it by removing the gba port on the dsi.

The exact same thing happened to me. I'm poor, so I'm just going to wait until it's broken completely, then I'm going to get another DS lite.
