Look familiar? This is my final Product of my team. I've taken lots of your advice so now I want this team rated out of ten. I have yet to start using TMs and stuff like that, so I'm still open to all suggestions. My explanations explain my strategy. Point out any flaws since this is my first team.

    Umbreon@Leftovers
    Bold Nature
EVs: 252 HP, 150 Defense, 108 Special Defense
    ~Confuse Ray
    ~Toxic
    ~Moonlight (PP Maxed)
~Mean Look (Confuse Ray gains power with Mean Look)

Tank Umbreon has great Defenses and HP to destroy everything except nasty fighting types (namely heracross). I hope this can work, but I think it can.

    Scizor@White Herb**Chromo
    Jolly Nature
EVs: 252 Speed, 252 Special Defense, 6 Attack
    ~Agility
    ~Swords Dance
    ~Baton Pass
~Silver Wind (can raise all stats, great since he's a BPer)

My BPer could give my team amazing speed with agility. Swords dance is for gengar and charizard and silver wind for my attack and it can raise all stats, making it a good BPer.

    Kingdra@King's Rock (Is this illegal?)
    Modest Nature
EVs: 252 HP, 130 Defense, 128 Special Defense
    ~Sleep Talk
    ~Surf
~Twister (King's Rock and it make a great combo)
    ~Rest

Kingdra is my annoyer of darkness. He uses flinching w/ twister plus King's Rock for a good chance of flinch and Rest/Sleep Talk when I'm low on HP.

    Electabuzz@Leftovers
    Modest Nature
EVs: 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP
    ~Psychic
~Ice Punch (pwns DDmence and ground types)
    ~Thunderbolt (STAB helps pwn Charizard)
    ~Fire Punch

This is self-explanatory. Use whatever hits the hardest. Ice Punch covers its only weakness-ground. Its achilles heel is its poor D, but he could be dangerous covering so many types.

    Charizard@Choice Band
    Adamant Nature
    EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP
~Earthquake (pwns electric and rock types)
    ~Aerial Ace
    ~Rock Slide
    ~Steel Wing

3 swords dances and agilities from Scizor plus the choice band and Charizard is a superpower. It packs 6x damage w/ 3 SD bonuses and the choice band on a normal effective hit. Imagine a super effective blast!

    Gengar@Lum Berry
    Docile Nature???
EVs: 168 Speed, 174 Attack, 168 Special Attack???
    ~Giga Drain (PP Maxed)
~Shadow Ball (Beats the psychics that try to beat Gengar)
    ~Destiny Bond
~Brick Break (A surprise is waiting for normal types!)

Gengar is my only wildcard whose moveset is in question and I'd be okay with replacing. Physical attacks can work with BPed attack from Scizor. Giga Drain can Restore health and Destiny Bond for those pokemon I stand no chance against. EV spread is in need of help as is the nature.

There's my team. Please don't go too hard on me! Actually go hard on me as long as its constructive. Go ahead and rate!

*sigh* Tank breon makes the battle SOOO slow. But it works. Trabreon works better though.

    -Mean Look
    -Baton Pass
    -???
    -???

Forgot last 2 moves. But I do know these 2 moves. Mean look the opponent. Baton Pass into that pokemon's weakness. Own the pokemon.

    Scizor@White Herb**Chromo
    Jolly Nature

My BPer could give my team amazing speed with agility. Swords dance is for gengar and charizard and silver wind for my attack and it can raise all stats, making it a good BPer.

Heh, not bad I suppose. But why use Silver Wind. I do understand that it does raise stats, but still, it's special attack sucks and your Scizor will not be able to do damage.

Dont use king's rock. It's a hax item, which IS illegal.

    Electabuzz@Leftovers
    Modest Nature
EVs: 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP
    ~Psychic
~Ice Punch (pwns DDmence and ground types)
    ~Thunderbolt (STAB helps pwn Charizard)
    ~Fire Punch

This is self-explanatory. Use whatever hits the hardest. Ice Punch covers its only weakness-ground. Its achilles heel is its poor D, but he could be dangerous covering so many types

    Simple, use electivire

    Charizard@Choice Band
    Adamant Nature
    EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP
~Earthquake (pwns electric and rock types)
    ~Aerial Ace
    ~Rock Slide
    ~Steel Wing

3 swords dances and agilities from Scizor plus the choice band and Charizard is a superpower. It packs 6x damage w/ 3 SD bonuses and the choice band on a normal effective hit. Imagine a super effective blast!

I doubt you'll be able to get 3 SD's and 3 agilities. But Choice band zard isn't to bad. Stone Edge over rock slide.

    Gengar@Lum Berry
    Docile Nature???
EVs: 168 Speed, 174 Attack, 168 Special Attack???
    ~Giga Drain (PP Maxed)

Hardely a wildcard... Physical gars went away in 4th gen. I suggest not using physical attacks. =\

There's my team. Please don't go too hard on me! Actually go hard on me as long as its constructive. Go ahead and rate!

You have a tyranitar weakness. Not tom ention you used electabuzz over electivire which is wierd. You also have a infernape weakness.

    This is THIRD GENERATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry I forgot that little tidbit.

EDIT: I HATE using standard sets, so no Mean Look-BP Umbreons please.

I REALLY hate to do this, but, bump. I don't need too much help, just a rating. Remember this is 3RD GEN! I'll try to add a rating system thing on here.

I wish youhad said that earlier I woulda gave you an 8 if I knew it was for third gen. Its late in New York, so I won't say much, but I will say this: I don't like the luck of Silver Wind for Baton Passing.

Yeah, it's only 10% or something, so I have agility and swords dance. If it happens, Awesome! I am trying not to rely on hax except for Kingdra. Sorry again I forgot to mention this is 3rd Gen. The whole team would suck a lot more in 4th.

I think Ice Beam belpongs on Kingdra regardless of generation.

It isn't a good annoying move though, which was my plan for Kingdra. Or am I being too closed Minded. If Kingdra can't cut it as an annoyer, I'd like a better set for it that gels well with my team or a replacement that isn't extremely OU and doesn't share a weakness with any of the others. No standard boredom either. Otherwise, rate away!

Rampardos can be used after some good Agil-Passing from Scizor.

Icebeam is necessary on Kingdra or it will be walled by Cradily.

Rampardos? This is 3RD GEN. for the final time! No energy ball, no focus blast, no garchomp, NOTHING from D/P! I don't own it! Rate this team as an EMERALD team! As for kingdra, could I just have a decent moveset that is an annoyer if kingdra is qualified to be one? If not, I need a replacement that follows the same requirements I posted above. Thanks, now rate me team, mateys!

What's with the one rating MKDSPoke? I know this team isn't perfect, but it's definately not horrible. Remembering this is 3rd gen, could you please justify your answer or give me some constructive critizism?

EDIT 2:Purfugly, MKDSPoke, could you leave posts explaining why you gave my team such a poor rating? I'd really like to know so I can fix the problems.

I'd give your team a bad rating too. Your team is unprepared for a lot of Advance's big threats.

Heracross - Your first 4 all die to one Megahorn or Focus Punch. Rock Slide kills Charizard and Gengar.

Tyranitar - Dragon Dance or Choice Band, it doesn't matter. You have absolutely nothing to take hits from it.

Gyarados - Taunts Umbreon and Scizor, Earthquakes Electabuzz, HP Flying for everything else.

The above three are all physical sweepers. Get the point? You need a Pokemon that can take physical hits and is not susceptible to Taunt.

    Also, repeat after me:

Annoyers don't work in competitive battles. Annoyers don't work in competitive battles. Annoyers don't work in competitive battles. Annoyers don't work in competitive battles. Annoyers don't work in competitive battles. Annoyers don't work in competitive battles. Annoyers don't work in competitive battles. Annoyers don't work in competitive battles. Annoyers don't work in competitive battles. Annoyers don't work in competitive battles.

If you find any Pokemon that relies on Toxic or Confuse Ray to deal with opponents, don't use it (that means Umbreon).
And if you don't want to use Mean Look + BP Umbreon, then don't use it. That's the only thing it was ever good for.

If your not going to use a Rain Dance Kingdra, then replace it with Milotic. RestTalking works much better on Milo. It also solves your Tyranitar problem.

Psychic won't do crap for Electabuzz and Blissey/Snorlax/Regice lols at any Buzz that doesn't know Cross Chop.

No OU Normal type will get hurt much from Gengar's Brick Break. Focus Punch is the only Fighting move that can do substantial damage to them.

You say you don't want standard sets, but I say you should use them. You're not ready for novelty sets, anyone with experience can see that. Your movesets, items, natures, and EVs all show a lack of understanding of competitive battling basics.

Play more with standards. Otherwise, it's like trying to run when you haven't even learned how to walk.

To be honest, that's all I needed to hear. I've read a lot over the past few months and I know I have lots to learn. I am just trying to build a team around my favorites. I'll get back to the drawing board and use your advice. I'll scrap this team (or at least make some huge changes). Thanks, Aragorn. I think I really needed to hear that. I'll be back soon with a hopefully better team. Alright, time to get back to the basics. Thanks guys!

PS-I understand it wasn't a good team but it was at least a "2."
