Ok, there is still a lot of things that I'm not sure about but hopefully will master soon enough, but my attempts at making a card hasn't been completely wasted. The card picture is in the direct link in my signature... can't post images or links since I haven't made 15 posts yet.

First of all, this card is based on the Pokémon Trading Card Game for the Gameboy, thus the rules are the exact same as the card in there (the rules ain't mine, and they will stay that way). The card we are talking about is card number 193/228 (at least from UPC, Ultimate Pokémon Center), P16 of the Promotional Cards. You can also see the original Gameboy illustration there.

The illustration used in this card is one of the Clip Backs from Pokémon Zeo with some modifications, and the Dragonite image by Ken Sugimori. This is NOT the final illustration, but it serves as a placeholder for now. If anyone wants to help me get some of my cards illustration, feel free to step forth.

I tried to follow the placement tutorial from Pokémon Zeo, but I can't guarantee no deviances. If you notice anything about them, please point them out. They say that people learn through trail and error, so any feedback is valuable. I was very unsure about the placement of the Promo and GB set logo.

The GB set logo was designed by me. Don't know if I should drop the white border. What do you think?

Other than that, not much to say. I know that there aren't many parts that can be given feedback on since the rules can't be changed and the illustration is only a placeholder.

One thing though, one thing I really need feedback on. Since the GB can't exactly portray a holographic card very well, how should I go about deciding which cards to make holographic and which not, and why do you think so?

wicked card man :D i must say "you nailed the neo style perfectly" good on ya

i think using an older ken sugimori art would have wrecked it.. one, the card is neo style,.. the old art would have made it loook anxcient, and thsi ken sugimori art has yet to be used, the old one has been used more than once :P i just prefer un-used art! but thats just me :P (thats why i taught my self how to draw)

First I want to say thanks for all the kind words and feedback. It does help ones motivation :)

The only thing that bugs me is the description... One more thing, the pic should be bigger and Ken Sugimori is the only guy that made that pic.

I forgot to mention that in my original post. The flavour text (description) didn't make it. I started the card thinking that I owned it in the GB TCG game, but when I was about to make the flavour text, I realized that I never had that card *sigh*. So I just filled in some temporary text. I have found several sites on the net that shows you the card and what it does, but none that shows Pokédex or flavour information from the cards.

As for the picture, Ken Sugimori drew the Pokémon. Unless Ken Sugimori is one of the people running Pokémon Zeo (please forgive me if he is :p), then he didn't do the background. That is one of the clip backs from the Pokémon Zeo page (Tool Box->Clip Backs) with heavy modification by me to give it a more painted, fuzzy and an all green look (although it could have been much better), in addition to some simple and buggy shadowing to make Dragonite look more blended in with the background.

I think really you should have used an older GB style Sugimori pic.

I've never seen those pictures (unless you mean the sprite from the GB games ripped and put into the card). Do you have a link to them?

Well, to be honest, there are two "interesting" aspects of this card.

    1. I wanted to make it a Base Set/Jungle/Fossil card, but I couldn't find any blanks for it (if you know where to find, please tell me). The reason is simply because the GB TCG game uses only cards from the Base Set+Jungle+Fossil era, and I wanted to replicate that and make the card in an era it would be most natural in.

    2. As I mentioned in my original post, the picture is only a placeholder. In the final card, this picture won't be there. It should be replaced with a completely "unique" picture (well, not 100% unique, but a redrawn picture based on the GB TCG one). The problem with that is that I can't draw for the life of it... I've tried a hundred times and failed. I need some help on that.

Other than that, I still need some feedback on that set icon. I also forgot to say in my original post that the opacity of the fonts need to be edited (I'm a perfectionist!). If you compare the "Evolves from..."/"Put Dragonite on..." and much of the other text with the "(C) 199x Nintendo..." you'll notice that it doesn't blend it... it looks like it's from two different prints.

Anyways, thanks very much for your feedback :D
