    Hey guys,
This is my first attempt at spriting a Fakemon, and the first time I have ever in my life attempted to sprite :D An I'd like to share with you my creation for C&C

This is my first ever fusion, I really love him too...

All C&C welcome, I love my leaf, i think it came out really well, but the body of the Fakemon isn't so good, so I'm not that happy with it, but I'll try and get better :D

There's no shading, the green looks like the default green color in MS Paint, and it kinda looks like you threw some shapes together. You need to put more effort into it, make straighter and curvier lines in the correct places, especially around the feet. The leaf is all right, but the shading on the leaf is the only shading I see. Even then, the shading on the leaf is awful. And what's with the ear? The one on the left looks disfigured.

Also, you need at least four sprites to have a showcase. This will be moved (possibly closed) when Amachi sees it unless you have four sprites.

thnx for the C&C lol, it was a little go at spriting, ill correct it and post it again.... or maybe i'll start afresh

The leaf isnt MS Paint colours at all, but the pokemon is.

EDIT: Oh and BTW, how can I improve the shading on the leaf?

EDIT2: Here is my updated leaf... Any better?

Just remember that the lighting comes from the top-left. Please take note of the shading on, say, Bulbasaur.

Note how the highlighting is on the top-left and the bottom is shaded.

ok, thnx i updated my last post but here is the updated leaf, any better?

Now the leaf's darker shading is against the highlighting, which is a big no-no. The shading should be just at the bottom of the leaf.

Ok, another one, but i hadn't read your post, again, i've shaded highlighting, but i changed the lights direction like you showed me... I'm narly there :D lol

    heres the latest:

EDIT: so i should not shade the highlight? ok, but then the highlight shouldn't go all the way across the length of the leaf right?

EDIT2:This is my improved one, I'm not shading the highlight now... any better? It's getting darker and darker, so I'll start afresh soon...

It's looking much better. However, there's still just a bit too much shading. You'll need to bring it down and bring in the primary color more. I can give you just a bit of a head start with a before and after picture if you want some extra help.

ok, that would be cool, ill try to fix it up, so not as much shading?

EDIT: I added more primary colour, but now the leaf looks to spherical...

Here, I've got something that might help you.

I do so hope it's comprehensive enough. If not, then I'll try again.

My leaf still looks abit spherical, but im happy with it, ill post later...

EDIT: You're question about the ear... the pink bt is the flesh part of the ear, looks crap though XD

Anyway... Here is my new leaf, I tried to mimc the way you did the shading.. and altered the colours so the leaf was brighter.. what you think?

And an updated version: I added veins and took away the line, does it look any better than the last or worse?

    And another lol....

I tried to improve the shading and make it look more smooth...

Your updated version is great! The only problem I have is how dark the leaf is. But that's personal preference. You've done a wonderful job! ^^

Thanks :D, which one is better though, one with veins or without?

I may use chikoritas pallette to brighten up the leaf

ok, i updated it by using metapods colour pallette, but i don't really like it...

No, that's only relevent for Pokemon Sprites, that leaf is clearly too big and the palette is too subdued to be pokemon sprite, the closest it could be is a piece of pixel art. Which isn't restricted by style rules. Don't give people incorrect advice.

To the original poster. It's nice that you started with scratch spriting but you should probably try out a few edits and whatnot until you've comftabley got the feel of anatomy, perspective and shading.

Fox♠, he was giving me the correct advice... The leaf was for a pokemon sprite, but I enlarged it so could learn how to properly shade it... And, do you mean I should start with splices and fusions ect.

The Dark Side Of Me thnx for your comment...
    Everyone thnx for C&C

Here is my first Fusion, its Polywhirl-Riachu, so I call him Polychu!

Take it from someone who knows, your sprites are far from pokemon style, he's giving you the incorrect advice. Not only are your sprites too big and posed wrong for pokemon, but the palettes are off too, therefore there's no need for you to follow Pokemon's shading style.

The fusion is cute, it's basic, but it's a nice effort. Shading should be rounder though.

how can i make my sprites, More "Pokemon Style", is it the colours or the way they are drawn?
