[Map] My Maps are all Black

    Hi everyone,

So I've started using Advance Map 1.95 following some tutorials but when I create a new map and try to warp to it, I end up in a black (and sometimes pink) space. The events inside work fine and some tiles too.

    The steps i've followed are:
    • Opened Pokemon Emerald Rom with Advance Map
    • Create a new map
    • Inserted some elements to fill space
    • Insert the new map into a new bank (ends up in bank 34 map 0)
    • Set up a warp to in the spawn and another in the new map to get there
    • Save and play

When I warp to the map almost everything goes black, excluding some random tiles and the character sprite. I can tell that the warps are fine because all the events in the new map works, but everything is black.

I've tried using a different tileset and the same happened.
i've also tried using a different Rom and re-installed Advance Map, but nothing works.

Really need some help. Thank you all

If a warp leads you to a black screen, you could try replacing a map with itself. For example, if you want to warp from Viridian City to Pallet Town, and the map gets black when warping to Pallet Town, replace Pallet Town with itself. (Click on Pallet Town - File - Map - Insert map - choose appropriate map bank and map number (3 and 0 in this case), and click replace.

You can also take a look at map footer offset. If it ends in 0,4,8 or C then the map is good, if it isn't, something is most likely wrong (hence the need to replace the map with itself.)

To see the map footer, go to Advance Map, click on Header tab, press CTRL + H, and check the map footer. Press CTRL + H to disable the professional header view again.

Also make sure that the warp unknown value is set to 00 as other values may cause problems. Also, make sure that the warps are connected propertly (proper warp numbers).
