Thanks Richard, any advice on his EV, or hold item?

For Claydol? I'll give you the set I use:

Claydol @ Leftovers
Relaxed Nature
EVs: 236 HP, [136 Atk or SpAtk], 108 Def, 30 SpDef
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Rest
- Rapid Spin

Relaxed nature if you use Earthquake, because either way, Claydol ain't outrunning anyone it needs to. If you use Earth Power, then Bold will work. As for the EVs, self explanatory... if you do go with Earthquake, and really want him to be a Dragon Counter, then by all means go with 136 EVs into Special Attack. Claydol has the base Defenses to be able to take quite a few hits, especially from stuff he resists (Focus Blast, even from Alakazam, does NOTHING to this bad boy, and Ice Punch from Electivire does around 40-50%, enough time to KO with his own Earthquake if you switch into Thunderpunch or Earthquake, or even Cross Chop), so putting those EVs into either attack stat would turn him into an effective killer as well as a great wall. Rest could be removed in favor of Stealth Rock, but since you have Aromatherapy support, I highly advise Rest. But it's up to personal preference!

Thanks Richard. Got an EV spread for Dusknoir?

Wow, great advice. I guess your team is looking much better.

Dusknoir is like Spiritomb, in that it's difficult to get the best EV spread, since both base Defenses are the same. Either way, make sure to max out HP, and the rest you could divide between Defense and Special Defense, unless you want him to be a specific kind of wall, ie. max out Defense for Physical Wall, or Special Defense for a Special Wall. Or you could do the unoriginal thing and split it equally, putting 126 into both defenses.

No matter how you set up EVs in his defenses, ALWAYS max out his HP, no matter what.

Ice types hurt a lot of those pokemon. Anyways, maybe 252 HP, 63 in each defense, 126 in attack or some variation of that.

Dusknoir is a Wall by all means... here's what I suggest (broken off from my previous post):

Since he can be three kinds of walls, here they are:

For a Physical Wall:
Impish Nature
252 HP, 252 Defense, 6 Attack

For a Special Wall:
Careful Nature
252 HP, 252 Special Defense, 6 Attack

For a Dual Wall:
Either one of the Natures above, or Adamant nature even.
252 HP, 126 Defense, 126 Special Defense, [3 wasted]

Don't use Curse... terrible move on Ghosts. Grudge/Mean Look can be swapped for something like Shadow Ball, but then the natures would have to redone. XD

Gengar has a good hypnosis/dreameater/nightmare combo. Still, Dusknoir is a much better wall and that's what your team needs. I'd use the physical wall but that's just me

Yeah... Physical setup + Ice Punch makes him a great Garchomp counter, unless Chomp has a few Swords Dances up his sleeve.

Claydol makes an "okay" physical wall, and your team really needs a special wall. So I'm not too sure what you want to do!

I'd make Claydol able to take special hits and dusknoir as your physical wall. Noctowl has decent special defense, too.

Thats not a bad idea, but I also am skilled at Light Screen/Reflect.

Claydol being weak to the most common Special Attack (Surf) doesn't help him out at all... he makes an okay dual wall, but focus should be on his Defense. He works perfectly with Skarmory to wall every physical attack in the game (plus he's immune to Skarmory's primary weakness), and add Blissey into the equation and you have a half-team that walls any kind of attack that may be thrown at them. Claydol was often called a staple in Staller teams, but he's become rather scarce these days. *tear*

I sill luv him, though!

So Dusknoir could be my special wall, while Claydol be my physical?

So Dusknoir could be my special wall, while Claydol be my physical?

He could be, but Claydol is very specific with what attacks he walls. Like Meteor Mash... it's at most a 3KO, where Skarmory absorbs it like candy. Waterfall hurts a lot too, as does Ice Punch. Anything coming from a hard attacker that's not "not very effective" will really put a dent in Claydol; on my team, he's basically there to wall what Skarmory and Blissey can't wall. It's very hard to rely on a single Poke for a single job, but if you play the game well, then I don't see a reason why he couldn't be your sole physical wall.

Thanks, now I can begin EV training. Or finish, since I gotta record EV's.

I;m not a fan of Dusk or Claydol because of their HP.

I always use Uxie, Cresselia, or Registeel for my walls.

Bastiodon is pretty amazing with Metal Burst and Rest and Taunt. Also with Block/Swagger/Toxic combo.

Vespiquen works too. just trying a higher HP stat.

okay, unfortunately i disagree with richard here. i think claydol needs earthpower as it has better sp.att base power. it would make sense since you're giving him ev's in sp.att as well as ice beam.

claydol is a great physical wall with levitate ability. garchomp you can take out with ice beam but you definitely need to prevent him from setting up. i think think your original set for claydol is the best. Don't change it.

as for dusknoir.. i saw a good one with this moveset
-brick break
-WoW
-pain split
-ice punch

The problem here is dusknoir is a physical wall(one of the best at it too) but you really need a special wall. dusknoir can pull off as a special wall but my experience is it's a much better phyical wall. i mean being immune to fighting, normal and ground type moves(most of them are physical moves), and if you buff up its defense, it becomes a pain to beat. WoW also weakens their attack.

And gyarados can be really scary if used right. You definitely want taunt so it doesn't get twaved or put to sleep. Some ppl actually use confuse rays too. with a gyarados, you're safe as long as the opponent doesn't carry a fast electric type like Jolteon. It doesn't have much of a weakness really. and you definitely want ice fang+earthquake. waterfull gets stab but ice fang+earthquake gives you excellent type coverage. ice fang hits flying types hard, and everything else you can hit with earthquake.

I agree with Steel.

Mixed Claydol covers more pokemon than Special, regardless of the stats.

claydol is definitely a useful pokemon and can be a dual wall, but not to the extent of absorbing hits like some of the other great walls(kind of like my blastoise). now i do agree he covers some of skarmbliss' weaknesses but it still gets beat by infernape :P who's one of the best skarm biss killers out there.
