    Hi guys! I love drawing. I've been drawing since I was an idiot kid! Anyways, since 1999 I've been drawing Pokémon... then I stopped in 2003. Then I started again in 2008 due to NOSTALGIAAAAA!! :D :knockedou

    Anyway, I used to get utterly shredded to pieces by fans on message boards in the past (2000 - 2003) because I felt that the new 252-Whatever Pokémon had terrible designs that felt non-Pokémon. I'm still sticking to that notion.


    enough about me... here's some drawings I did (and a ton more that are on DeviantArt).

    This is me re-designing the new Pokémon that I think are worth re-designing. So far I did two... take a look!

    (my past experience kicking in to send a message of caution): Please don't take this seriously... I have no emotional connection with any of the post-251 Pocket Monsters and it's my own personal opinion that I think they're badly designed. Thanks ;)
     
    Hey Thanks! Not only that but, it's general appearance looks more like it was made out of play-dough than a Pokémon. It's a problem most 'new' Pokémon sport, sadly.

    i like the way you re-did salamence, but I'm not-so-sure about treecko's face, the rest of the body does seem better though

    I quite like the treeko. And I agree, you totally did Salamences wings the way that the should be like. I like Treekos position as well, it makes it look like the young, inexperienced pokemon, that it actually is. If you get what I mean ;)
     
    Wow! Thanks for the positive responses! I have not expected that... very very happy to be wrong, however! Love you guys!

    Anyway, I'll add a bunch more when I can. Keep your eyes peeled and maybe even send me some requests too! Who knows!
     
    That Salamence look like a beast, and has the same cool wings as Charizard.

    Treecko, on the other hand is ok. Just his face looks weird.
     
    yeah, I've been getting the same responses from other people about his head too...

    first of all, I have no emotional connection with any of the new guys (252-49533), so I just design it with a knowledge of how it would look like if it was designed the "classic" way. (like the original 151)

    hence the head looks more "natural"....

    okay, so I have no idea what Pokémon to draw next... so I'm calling out to all of you! What do YOU want to see get re-designed?

    This helps me actually finish a drawing and gives me incentive to continue drawing! I usually get upset at what I draw and give up... but if people anticipate something from me, I can finish and do it!

    So let's have it!

    Oh, Lostt... I'm sorry, but I'm only interested in modifying monsters 252 to whenever it ends! Part of the reason is because I kind of grew up with the first 151 (then came to accept the next 100) but still think the new ones (252-Infinity) have serious serious flaws. Know what I mean?

    Wow, these look good! I'm also like you, stopped drawing pokemon at some point and now I've started again. ^^ I also don't like some of the new pokemon so much. There are some weird ones in 3rd gen, but almost all pokemon in 4th gen could've been better.

    The only problem with that Treecko it's its head: the top of its head, to be accurate. But any other part of it looks good. And I've also always though that Salamence's wings look just weird. Those ones look much better. Keep it up!

    If you wish to have some suggestions, I'd love to see better versions of Walrein and Empoleon. I think those two ruin two perfectly good evolution lines. Especially Walrein: Spheal and Sealeo are cute, but Walrein is just ugly. >__>

    Okay, so does that Emplopeon thing have blades for wings? What's going on here?
     
    Okay so I know I'm being ultra-slow with my Pokémon Redesigns, but I wanted to show you some more art I have done.

    As for most of us, I used to draw a ton of Pokémon when I was much younger, and I used to be all about Pokémon (now it's just a fun thing to look back at and add on to it). During that time, me and my friends made up our own (and really good, if I do say so myself) Pokémon series. Our own characters (isn't that what Pokémon was all about? Being yourself*?) and a formula for a TV show and movie line that would kick the Ash one in the shin! (although he's still in it...)

    *I was always mad as a kid when I saw other kid's Game Boys have "ASH" as their name. I was pretty insistent that they use their own name, you know ;). That's what got me interested in the phenomenon in the first place: Being yourself, and catching and training whatever monster you want! Am I right?
