Well, I'm a beginner to this whole battling thing and decided to make a thread of my team so I can get suggestions. My team won't be professional, I just did what I thought was decent.

    [PokeCommunity.com] My team (beginner-ish)

Gargoyle (Aerodactyl) Lvl. 100 Jolly Focus Sash
    4HP/252Atk/252Spe

    Earthquake
    Stealth Rock
    Stone Edge
    Taunt

Well, earthquake is just for damage, as is stone edge. Stealth rock is for well...SR. Taunt is to stop other stealth rockers from well..SRing. I'm thinking of switching Stone Edge/EQ for a flying move.

    [PokeCommunity.com] My team (beginner-ish)

Ganga (Gengar) Lvl 100 Timid Life Orb
    4HP/252Spe/252SpA

    Hypnosis
    Shadow Ball
    Focus Blast
    Thunderbolt

Well, I usually use Hypnosis first, as it works often for me. Shadow Ball does quite a lot of damage with it's SpA. Focus Blast nearly 2HKO's Blissey, but it needs more Atk for a 2HKO. Thunderbolt is well...thunderbolt.

    [PokeCommunity.com] My team (beginner-ish)

    Torterra Lvl 100 Impish Leftovers
    252HP/20Def/236Spe

    Subsitute
    Leech Seed
    Earthquake
    Wood hammer

SubTerra, these really annoy me, (any grass pokemon with this setup) so why not? Can't really explain much, just put it on the team.

    [PokeCommunity.com] My team (beginner-ish)

Shock (Raikou) Lvl. 100 Timid Leftovers
    64HP/252Spe/96SpA/96SpD

    Calm Mind
    Thunderbolt
    HP Ice
Subsitute (no clue why it's there)

He's basically my electric pokemon, to take care of fliers and water, that's basically it.

    [PokeCommunity.com] My team (beginner-ish)

The Swamp (Swampert) Lvl. 100 Relaxed Leftovers
    240HP/216Def/52SpA

    Ice Beam
    Hydro Pump
    Stealth Rock
    Earthquake

Back-up SR, one weakness covered by ice beam. Enough said.

    [PokeCommunity.com] My team (beginner-ish)

    Typhlosion Lvl. 100 Timid Leftovers
    6HP/252Spe/252SpA

    Flamethrower
    Sunny Day
    Solar Beam
    HP Ice

If faster, it should beat the water pokemon if SD is setup previously. It's also my favorite fire poke, but i'm willing to change.

Ok, when you go to rate, give me a LOT of suggestions. I need all I can get. I made this long post for a reason, perhaps give me one that just suggests me to switch pokemon, and I can figure out the EVs and stuff.

Thanks for reading, but remember, each time you read a thread and don't post, hereswhat happens, sorry :(

CBTTar's crunch 2HKOs every member of your team. Considering how common it is, this spells doom for you. Only Gengar can OHKO it, but it can't switch in on any of TTars attacks, aside from Earthquake. You'll have to revenge it, with a 70% accuracy move which is rather risky, but you have no other choice. You should be able to take it, just keep an eye on it, and think carefully. Typholsion is completely useless for your team, to be honest. Sunny Day just inhibits Swampert and Torterra. I would either go with a Choice Scarf/Specs set or remove it completely. If you want a Fire-Type Starter, Infernape is better in pretty much all situations.

    So run either

    Typhlosion @ Choice Scarf*/Choice Specs^
    Ability: Blaze
    Modest* Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)/Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    EVs: 4 HP, 252 SAtk, 252 Spd
    - Overheat
    - Focus Blast
    - Hidden Power [Grass]
    - Flamethrower

    Or run Mixape:

    Infernape @ Life Orb
    Ability: Blaze
    Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
    EVs: 24 Atk, 252 SAtk, 232 Spd
    - Close Combat
    - Flamethrower
    - Nasty Plot/Hidden Power [Ice]
    - Grass Knot

Oh and once you move to Platinum, Gengar's Hypnosis drops to 60% accuracy, which is hardly acceptable. If you want, replace it with HP [Ice] or Will-o-wisp, for a 75% chance of a Burn. This could help against incoming Tyranitars, expecting Shadow Ball, HP Ice or TBolt.

You can drop the SAtk EVs on Swampert if you are confident in setting up SR. It means you still OHKO Mence, but have more bulk. Watch out for DDOutrage sets. On that note, you could do with a Dragon resist, so Scizor, Heatran or Metagross are decent options. I'll leave that one up to you. It's difficult when you are attached to members of a team.

Don't get me wrong, you're doing well for a new player, sorry if I sounded too harsh.

Oh no, not harsh at all. Thanks for a lot of the help, I'll switch to Infernape, seems good.

I also switched Raikou with Gallade, I was very poor against Cresselia, got owned by psychics so I added one of my own, the physical sweeper gallade.
