    I'm Buying HeartGold soon, and I want to trade some level 1 (newly hatched) from my soul silver that are good pokemon so that theres a wide variety, but so I can control them and they are fair.

    What is a good pokemon to have in the early stages of the game?

    Im thinking of starting with Cyndaquil, and trading over a level 4 murkrow, since I like it.

    What else should I give it?

    ~Also, how do you get an Ampharos. Im interested in using one in my team
     
    South of Violet City, right by the Alph Ruins, is a patch of grass that holds mareeps. Level them up 'till it evolves twice and you have an Ampharos. In HG/SS. Mabye add a staryu? Starmie is just plain unbeatable.

    You should give the team a Rattata, its a nice Pokemon for the first few stages. xD
