I've taken a highly academic approach to teambuilding. Here's my "beat the snot out of 'em" team that has nearly perfect element structure, and the movesets. Can't decide which to drop so Steelix and Snorlax are alternates.

    alakazam
    -------------
    psychic
    recover
    hyper beam
    counter

    dragonite
    ---------------
    outrage
    surf
    ice punch
    fire punch

    steelix
    --------------
    rock slide
    rollout
    rest
    toxic

    machamp
    --------------
    cross chop
    ice punch
    counter
    thunderpunch

    gengar
    --------------
    confuse ray
    hypnosis
    shadow ball
    dream eater

    snorlax
    --------------
    curse
    rollout
    double edge or solar beam
    rest

a team with perfect element structure would be:
(you can't get a team that has good balance with a bigger advantage b/w # of plus matchups and # of minus matchups than the following...)
    Skarmory
    Latios
    Kingdra
    [Steel/Fighting]
    [Ghost/Dark]
    [Fire/Grass]

whether or not u have all the type coverage the fact that the movesets can't work will make all that work useless...

    alakazam[timid]
    EVs - Sp,SpAtt,hp
    psychic
    ice punch/recover
    fire punch/recover
    thunderpunch/recover

He can't survive any physical hit, so counter is out of the question and he has no attacking stat to speak of so hyper beam is gone.

    dragonite[+SpAtt,-Sp]
    EVs - hp,SpAtt,Att,Def
    focus punch
    substitute
    ice beam
    thunderbolt

    ice beam > ice punch
    flamethrower > fire punch

    Steelix[+Att,-SpAtt]
    EVs - hp,Att,Def
    earthquake
    roar
    double edge/rockslide/rest
    double edge/explosion/toxic/rest

Please no SpAtts on machamp......unless its fire blast but that sucks neway
    Machamp[adamant]@choice band
    EVs - Att,Def,hp
    focus punch
    earthquake
    cross chop
    rockslide

I like this one but a bulk up set could work

    gengar[+Att,-Def]
    EVs - Att,SpAtt,Sp
    substitute
    focus punch
    thunderbolt
    ice punch

i don't like it buh it works [to some extent]
    or just go with - psychic,thunderbolt,ice punch,destiny bond/will-o-wisp/giga drain

    Snorlax[adamant]
    EVs - hp,Att,SpDef,Def
    rest
    shadow ball/earthquake
    return
    curse

    or use
    snorlax - subsitute,focus punch,shadow ball,return

@ leftovers to all except when otherwise stated

    ghost/dark?
    as in sableye?

A water type with the moves surf and ice beam could easily take out 5 of your pokemon. Element structure pssh.

I dunno where you got the idea that Hyper Beam Kazam was good... Even if Hyper Beam was usable, Kazam has extremly low physical attack power, so it does close to nothing... Just take Ice Demons advice.

    Fixes in bold.
