3rd Gen myster event in sapphire

hi my mystery event keeps on saying "error check link and turn power off and on"i did that and it still says it i dont under stand can someone help i need the eon ticket and birth ticket.PLZ HELP ME!! ):

well, they give away the eon ticket and birth ticket at special events, like Toys 'R' Us's Geoffeys birthday, when they gave away Mew. so with out a gameshark of something, you cant have any pokemon that is an legendary 'special event' (Mew, Deoxys, Jirachi, Celebi, etc.)

To clear a few things up:

-You CANNOT get the Aurora ("Birth") Ticket in Ruby OR Sapphire, even by cheating. The area simply isn't in the game; and regardless, the tickets are transferred wirelessly, not through a link cable.
-The Eon Ticket requires you to have an E-Reader, a physical E-Reader card called the Eon Ticket (it was given out as a Nintendo Power promo in America), a link cable, and a copy of Ruby or Sapphire that has beaten the Petalburg Gym.
-You probably have the wrong ends of the link cable in the wrong systems. Player 1 ABSOLUTELY MUST BE in the Ruby/Sapphire's Gameboy, or else it won't work.
-You cannot use a Nintendo DS to obtain the Eon Ticket.

So, explain the situation to us a bit more clearly; what's your setup? What are you trying to obtain? I wrote the guide about how to use the E-Reader in relation to Ruby and Sapphire (I was formerly known as Divisible by Waffle; I should get Hunk to put my new name in there, because my switch is permenant) so I can pretty much answer any questions you can throw at me.
