4th Gen Mysteries of Spiritomb

Just thought of something add It's Pokédex entry from Diamond "A Pokémon that was formed by 108 spirits. It is bound to a fissure in an odd keystone." with it's Defense (108) and Special Defense (108) then add it's Shinnoh Dex Number 108 it comes to 432 then as it is supposed to be cursed add the PP of curse 10 then it will add 442 which is it's National Dex Number.

That is an interesting thought Team Poison.We need to take that into consideration.
 
This is starting to sound like alot of those 9/11 conspiracies. Anyways my own thoughts on spiritomb are:

32x4=108( I think I did the math in my head)
32 people you need to talk to
4 moves spiritomb knows at any given time
108 spirits make up spiritomb
the crumbled tower is some sort of "spirit prison" but since it's aging its powers are waning and spirits are escaping
the odd keystone is enchanted just like the tower but can only hold 108 spirits
by placing keystone on the tower you trap 108 of the escaping spirits thus forming the pokemon
 
I'm pretty sure that breeding Spiritomb and getting a Spiritomb egg with an odd keystone appearing from the egg is merely a game mechanic sort of thing... But what if the odd keystone itself is alive, and grows? What if a piece of it were to break off, and grow into an actual Spiritomb? (Alot more than 108 people die each day, so it could be possible).

Er... a bit coincidential, in my opinion. Yes, 108 spirits, #108 in the Sinnoh Dex, 108 Defense, 108 Sp. Defense, and 108 kg. But you can take as many 108's as you like to make that ecuation fit. Not necessarily true.

Okay, the 32 has something to do with 108, but the 4 has no sense. I don't think it references the number of moves since it would do that with any Pokémon.

Mmm... not sure about it being a game mechanic. They are a species. That means they can breed and create other Spiritomb which, by the way, also live in odd keystones. I don't if the keystone is necessary at all but it seems to be. Probably they are attracted to those kind of stones or something, I don't know.

And, guys, don't take that part about the 108 spirits that seriously. If you think a bit, that can't be possible, even in the now-more-magical-than-ever Pokémon world.
 
Ive always wondered why spiritomb is only have way othe key stone when its supposed to part of the tomb that sealed it

I agree I think it is a normal Pokémon just caught up in a lot of folklore and unless they decide to make a movie centered around Spiritomb's origins we aren't going to find out what the mystery behind Spiritomb is (If there is one).

They couldn't make a movie to explain it anyway the subject is way to dark for kids which is what Pokémon is really geared for.
 
Spirtomb's not evil... Also I've heard there are lot's of other Odd Keystone you can find(but they're rare). This is what I do to breed em'.
 
I'm fairly certain nitendo got 108 from old superstitions, I think buddhist or hindi and if I recall correctly it was some sort of protective amulet with 108 stones in it, correct me on that if I'm wrong though
 
The way you arrange words can confuse people at times.Any way I have about 28 Spiritombs left from my Spiritomb event.PM me if you want one(it has something to do with spiritomb right?).Also has It occured to anyone that the numbers connected with Spiritomb are so prisice(please correct me if I misspelled that)
 
Does anybody else feel that the whole story of Spiritomb should be for a legendary pokemon
 
I quite like the idea actually. Puts me in the mind of some acient tribe performing mass sacrifices or something. Perhaps the description of 'evil' came from the captors being over-zealous.
 
Na not really, i watched braveheart yesterday and this reminded me of the people locked in the tomb thingy :P
 
The mouth on Spiritomb looks a lot like the fissure on the Odd Keystone.Is it just my imagination , is my brain going wierd or is there some representation.I wasnt sure but when I first got the odd keystone I thought that Spiritomb could learn fissure.Now I cant imagin(?)him learing fissure.My brain is a bit funny at the moment.
 
I dont know what brave heart is but everything about spiritomb is just creepy

Oops thinking of the wrong movie :P either way there were people locked in a tomb cuz their souls were sacrifices to jesus. Obviously the christian faith doesnt do killing hence making these sacrifices evil. This is just what the 108 souls puts me in mind of.

I have a huge urge to go off topic. I'll fight it. Obviously if for 500 years it was sealed in a fissure it had to have done something evil. Maybe it stole the sould of 108 pokemon. I'm not sure.

Alright going off topic. I have an even better mystery to uncover about Spiritomb. How is it underused/borderline. This Pokemon is a fantastic wall both physical and Special. 108 defenses is pretty good, and although it has abysmal HP, look at it's moveset. Its walling capabilities can go special or physical plus it has 3 immunities and no weaknesses. Look at it's potential movesets:

Physical wall @ leftovers
252 hp/216 def/40 atk
Impish nature (+def, -sp.atk)

-curse
-Will-o-wisp
-painsplit
-Pursuit/sucker punch/faint attack

Special wall @ leftovers
252 hp/216 sp. def/40 sp. atk
calm nature (+sp. def, -atk)

-Calm mind
-Pain Split
-hypnosis/toxic/will-o-wisp
-Dark pulse/Shadow Ball/HP (dragon)
