Snazzy little coin and card if you ask me the japanese cards are way better made.

I'm not exactly sure how this has to do with Mysterious Dungeon, but I'm proud to say I own a Pokeblock dispencer myself :)
I own a clear green one.

The game looks, well, different, does anyone know the story/ aim of the game?
Well, by the official site, the game's story seems to be fairly simple... the main character (you) gets changed to a Pokemon, and you have to find out how to turn human again while doing jobs/missions in the "mysterious dungeons".

Sorry for double posting, but I got some additional scans from Corocoro (via my sources).

By the scan it seems like you have 16 Pokemon you get to control.

Question, but when Mysterious Dungeon comes out, should this thread be open only for Blue (DS version) discussion, and should I create a thread for Red (GBA version) in the General Pokemon Games section, or should this thread be for both?

Contains spoilers

OK, Dungeon is out today.
I've already gathered some info on it, since I'm thinking of getting it this saturday.

Anyway, from info on Japanese Pokemon boards:

- You can only evolve after you finish the game once. (For you and yoyr partner Pokemon).

- You can start befriending other Pokemon only after you finish the first 4 dungeons.

- You can assign a member of your team to be team leader after you finish the game once. This means you can make any Pokemon to be you.

- Zigzagoone is godly, like in Ru/Sa/Em. It still has Pickup to get items, it levels up quickly, and Pin Missle does tons of damage, thanks to its multiple hit. The only downside of Zig is that its HP is relativly low.

- ^ Basically, multi-hit attacks which are fairly useless in RPG Pokemon are useful in Dungeon.

- Gardevoir holds a vital key role in the game, as it appears in your dream.

- You still need HMs to enter certain dungeons (eg: Diving for underwater dungeons).

- Chiko, Skitty and Eevee are fixed to female players, while Machamp, Meowth and Cynda are fixed to male players only.

- Depending on your Pokemon, the partner you can select from changes.

Btw, I'll do a short review if I get it.

Short review and double post

I've got Mysterious Dungeon - Team of Red today. So I'll write a review like I said I will.

I've only finished two maps however, so it'll be a short review, and I'll try to avoid as much spoilers as possible (even though a spoiler of the first hour or so might not be big).

Opening sequence: One of the downsides of the game. You can't skip the opening animation like you can with other games, which is very annoying. This adds to the frustration of resetting the game to get the main character Pokemon you want to get.

Main character: A questionnaire consited of about 6 questions (6~8, but most cases was 6). The questionnaire finds out your Nature, then you tell it your gender, to determine what Pokemon you become. Of course since its a questionnaire, you have to try a few times if you have a specific Pokemon you want to become.

Since I wanted a Squirtle, I tried the questionnaire 10 times (which took like 20 minutes -_-). On the 11th try, the questionnaire said my Nature was Jolly, and since I'm male, I'm a Squirtle. Yay :)

Then, I chose Chikorita to be my partner, the name of her being "Chikoree" (チコリィ ).

The game started with me (the Squirtle), lying in the middle of a forest. Then, chikorita wakes him up, and asks him who he is. At this point, I entered the name for my Squirtle, as "Lok" (ロク ). However, Lok protests he is actually human, but of course, Chikoree doesn't believe him because he obviously looks like a Squirtle.

Suddenly, as Lok and Chikoree are talking, a Butterfree mother comes to us distressed, saying her baby Caterpie fell in a fissure after an earthquake, and confused, angered wild Pokemon are trying to attack her baby.

The first quest is to, of course, save the baby Caterpie. It wasn't that hard, although the pidgeys where quite hard to defeat since they avoided my normal attack (punches) with ease. However they where easily dispateched by my Tackle.

- In this game, pressing A does the normal attack. This normal attack uses no PP, but is weak comapred to attacks with PP, and you only gain small amounts of EXP defeating Pokemon this way.
Attacks with PP are powerful, and you gain more EXP defeating enemy Pokemon with it. However, the number of uses are limited due to its PP constraints.

After I saved the Caterpie, the mother Butterfree gave us a few berries, and was very happy. That gave Chikoree an idea, to form her own Rescue Team, with Lok being the leader, since according to her: "Hey, you arn't half as bad as I imagined! Maybe... if you have no where to go... why don't you become the leader for our Rescue Team?!"

Afterwards, Lok is led to Chikoree's house, which is also the new HQ. Then, you think of a name for the Rescue Team. It took me half a hour to think of a team name -_-;
But I decided it to be "Alpha Numbers" (but because of a 5 word limit in th game, Alpha Number -> αナンバー ).

Then, the game shifts to that night, in the main characters dream...

and now I'm tired typing, and I might spoil some parts, so I'll stop typing.

So thats the story for the first 30 minutes (if you are a fast gamer).

As for the game system, its actually quite fun. Its like a generic Mysterious Dungeon game, one movement = one turn.

And the attack linking system is great. You can link 2 of your Pokemons moves togather to create a combo. I linked Tail Whip and Tackle together, and my Lok can do 20+ damage with ease :)

Altough it is fun, as I said, the downside is with the opening sequence you can't skip.

Still, I highly recommend it.

Anyone know what should i do after go to the Central Town and meet Peplipers? (In Mysterious Red) ^. And in the Linking up part, which peplipers is allow to linking up? (i don't know Japanese) ^^
Edit: After I rescue a diglet and meet Red Team, what should i do?

Red Team... you mean the Alakazam team? You should go do other small missions, so the story advances automatically (a new dungeon is unlocked).

But then, the story is sort of straight forward for Dungeon, since its:

Do missions which advances storyline -> Do small missions -> Story advances, new dungeon unlocked

i have a question: does ne1 know if the mysterious dungeon games are coming out in the USA or not? becuz the screenshots look awesome!!!

I like this game a lot. Nice graphics, nice story, nice gameplay. I'm going to wait till it comes out in England though. I'm not importing. Too expensive.
