N00b Mistakes

I used my Master Ball to catch Suicune in Crystal. :') I mean, I guess it could have been worse, but after countless 'battles' with Entei and Raikou, I was getting pretty tired of their **** and assumed Suicune was like that too, so I just instantly threw my Master Ball when I encountered it. Felt pretty accomplished and didn't find out until much later that Suicune won't even flee from the final encounter.

And like a lot of others here, I was also pretty guilty of just overlevelling my starter and crushing everything with it regardless of type.

I was like... nine years old when I was playing Pokemon Blue version.

I used Hyper Beam.

A lot.

Not sure if it's a mistake or not in retrospect. I had no idea I had to recharge a turn after use.

I'm pretty sure it's because Lance traumatized me with his team.

Gyarados?

HYPER BEAM.

Aerodactyl?

HYPER BEAM.

Dragonite?

HYPER BEAM.

He had to recharge? Didn't matter. I counter-attack. Didn't OHKO. Damn.

HYPER BEAM.

You know what?

Fly to Celadon City.
Game Corner.
Spam coins.
Fly to Viridian City.
Old man conversation.
Fly to Cinnabar Island.
Surf on edge like a madman.
Get 34785384 TM15s.
Teach Hyper Beam to everyone.

HYPER BEAM EVERYTHING.

i think my biggest mistake was playing yellow and only leveling up my charmander. I made it through the elite four until Lance where his gyarados would kill me every time. I had nothing else to use against him. That's where i learned evenly training a team of pokemon was a better choice

I'm not sure if it's considered a 'mistake' but I had my starter(forgot who) and anothor mon in the day care in my first plat file(I was like 10). As a result, I started to lose battles frequently because my strongest mons weren't in my party. So I went back to the DC and guess what?

'Your poles were holding an egg!'

Aaaand by this, It also means my first, first, first ever starter was female. Wai.
