Names that sound and look better in other languages?

    Do you think there are any pokemon names that sound and look better in other languages? i think Totodile is better in french. it's name is Kaminus (Kayman Minus) and Croconaw in German is Tyracroc (Tyrant Crocodile) and sounds cooler, a well as feraligatr in German, Impergator (Emperor ? gator) wonder why the dub didn't think of that?
     
    Ehh... Feraligatr flows better than Impergator, imo, and I've always liked the name Feraligatr. The Totodile family didn't get the short end of the stick in names (hey, there are a lot that are worse). Plus Totodile sounds cute and whimsical, like its Japanese name Waninoko (ever heard it in the anime going "Waniwan! Wanwanyi waniwani!"?) It's so cute. ^^

    Impergator is not Japanese I can tell from the looks of it, more like odairu. Anyways I just name my Pokemon after the Japanese names it doesn't matter to me at all

    My favorite Pokemon name will always be Milotic's Japanese name, Milokaross. *will use that name in a piece of writing*
     
    "Sceptile" sounds cool in French. "Jungko" seems to be a combination of jungle, and gecko.
     
    In German, Squirtle is Schiggy. Enough said.

    I kinda like 'Juptor or juptile' despite not liking japanese pokemon names.

    All the English names are my favorite, because I don't have time or the patience to learn another set of 500 names.

    Rukario = Lucario. Rukario is the romanization of Lucario's Japanese name, meaning Lucario is both his proper English and Japanese name.

    Ever heard Satoshi say Rukario? He clearly pronounces it with an "L". It's like arguing that Rizaadon is better than Lizardon... Just...what?

    Ah, that's one: Juptile (Someone explain how Juputoru romanizes to Juptile? It so sounds like "Juptor" It even makes sense).

    Ah well, it's a cool name either way.

    See, that's because spoken Japanese has no definitive "R" or "L" sound. It's almost like a rolled "R". Like you were about to say "L", but it came out as an "R" half-way through. To make more simple, it's a slurred "R".

    Japanese is a wacky language.
     
    ^ Lol, I know how the Japanese syllables work. ^^; I like it. Ever tried saying "Mimiroru" in a Japanese accent? It's crazy--I could do it all day.

    "Mimiroru, Mimiroru, Mimiroru, Mimiroru..."

    Ugh, now I'm really wondering what Buneary sounds like in Engligh... ><

    Unown and Announ is the same, just as Lucario and Rukario, Lizardon and Rizaadon. And Juputoru must be Juptor, not Juptile. If it was Juptile I suppose it was Juputairu then, but it's not.
    I like the jp names the best and they're the originals. Those who made pokemon came up with these names. Of course there are good alternative names as well. You could even come up with better names yourself if you want; nicknames. One of my favorite name is Arcanine, but I also like its original very much: Windi.
    Another favorite is Darkurai(Daakurai); it's a mix or the eng word Dark and jp word Kurai. (There is only one 'k' or one kana for 'ku', but else it's the word dark(daaku) and kurai)
