Names?

I have read a lot of threads and it seems people fight alot over using Japenness names or American. Sooo, I've started a thread about it!

I personily prefer American, but thats because I don't know anyones Japenness names other than Ash, Gary, Misty, and May.

I'm more accustomed to using the American names because I was introduced to the American version first, but more often than not I find the Japanese names to be better. "Satoshi" sounds better than "Ash"; "Musashi and Kojiru" is snappier than "Jessie and James"; etc. Plus, the Japanese don't try to make a pun out of everything.

However, I can't vote because I have no idea what "Japenness" is.

I chose Japanese because I prefer Kyou, Natsume and Sakiki :)

For me it usually depends who I'm talking to, I use the dubbed voices more as most people seem to be better acustomed to them, but for the most part the original Japanese names (especially for the Pok?mon) conquer the dubbed.

I prefer the American names. Besides to me Pokemon is pretty much an American anime. Besides not all of the names have puns, Jesse GS the II. Like Richie, Casey, Shauna and Tory. Some are English versions of the original names which IMO is pretty cool even though I just love puns.

The Japanese names have more of a ring to it, but I use the English versions anyway. There's no point in me using the Japanese names because it's not like I what's going on in the original anyway.

And really, what the HELL is so bad about Drew? How is it so different than Shuu? Really?

I voted Japanese names 'cause I like names Satoshi, Shuu, Haruka..etc.
But I love English names too^^

Ehem you forgotten about german and french ones o_O (add them please) i think the german ones , since i like calling Shiggy instead of Sqiurtle (or something like that)

I'll go with the "Japenness" names, since the first Pokemon episode I watched was in Japenness, the games I play are in Japenness, the Pokemon manga I read is Japenness etc.
