    I know this probably isn't the right way to ask this, how do yo get the national pokedex?

    Not quite correct. You have to have seen all Sinnoh Pokémon, then talk to Professor Rowan, and he will upgrade your Pokédex.
    All Pokémon that are needed can be seen in one game, including the opposite legendary from your game, of which a woman will show you a picture in the town with the Dialga/Palkia plate cave.
    Just battle all the trainers, and you'll see your Pokédex fill up.

    Finally they do something new. But does that include the legendaries because in RSE to get the dipolma and completing your Pokedex you didn't have to get Deoxys or see it. So does this mean all Nintendo event Pokemon also?

    You don't have to see the unobtainable/most likely Nintendo event Pokémon to get the national dex.

    You need to see (not catch) all 150 Pokémon from the Shinou dex and you cane asily see all of them in the game, so there is no need to worry.

    the legendaries you need to see are Dialga, Palkia and the legendary trio.

    and yeah, sorry for the wrong info before, now I remember the right way^^;

    Where do you see the un-selected starter? Does Hikari have it?

    Your opponent has the starter of the type which is strong against your starter, like it used to be in the other games.
    There are other people who have the starters aswell, just some random people in the game.
    IIRC there are 2 people on the champion road who have Dotaitos and Empoleon, one elite four member has Infernape.
