Heyo! I'm doing a pokemon Black, Single player run, and need help with my team. I plan on using:

    Samurott
    Musharna
    Seismitoad
    Bouffulant
    Zebstrika
    Elektross

if someone could hook me up on advice (and maybe move-sets) that'd be great.

    Thanks a bunch!

I do not recommend Zebstrika at all, especially when you're going to have an Eelektross, which is a much better Electric type. Zebstrika doesn't really have the stats to carry out the moves it's given, and I've found that a lot of people were really hyped for it and ended up disappointed. I'm definitely in that group. Training a Tynamo is a bit difficult until it evolves, but it's so worth it. And way better than Zebstrika. And again, you don't really need two Electric types. Eelektross also has Levitate as an ability, rendering it safe to use against Ground types, unless you're dealing with something that uses Gravity or has a certain ability to negate Eelektross' Levitate.

I would also recommend either scrapping Samurott or Seismitoad. While Seismitoad does have that extra Ground type on it, again, you don't really need two of the same type. I'm personally not a huge fan of Samurott and find it dreadfully boring and would much rather use Seismitoad, but Samurott is still a solid Pokemon and not terrible. Just...not the most interesting or versatile, I've found. Seismitoad gets more to play with and I find it to be better than Samurott.

I think everything else you've selected works fine, but what I pointed out should probably be considered as well. And I should also mention that if you really want to use two of the same types, that's fine. I mean, I'm doing the same in Crystal by using Alakazam and Slowking-- however, it should be noted that they do different things. Slowking is more bulky and also a Water type, Alakazam is fast and hits harder. But the ones that you selected I don't think are different enough from one another (or in the case of your Electric choices, one is MUCH better than the other) to really help you out.

Some other Pokemon to consider are Chandelure, Lilligant (White exclusive, but there is an in-game trade for a Petilil), Whimsicott, Mienshao, Hydreigon, and Haxorus. You don't have any of those types covered in your team, so perhaps you could work something in.

I've already said a lot, so I'll let you take that in, but I'm happy to help with movesets if you still need that! I'm not really the best at that though, but I mean, this is only in-game so I suppose I could be of some assistance...I'm garbage for competitive, haha.

I personally wouldn't ditch Samurott, since Seismitoad's stats lean towards physical attacker and it doesn't get any physical Water STAB whatsoever and that forces you into a mixed moveset. Samurott's stats are more balanced to allow for a mixed moveset, I'd mainly base your moveset choice on what nature it turns out to have or something. (I love the Oshawott line so don't be surprised if I defend it a lot)

Musharna is a decent Psychic-type, but if you evolved it from Munna before Level 39 you'll miss out on Psychic until post-game since the TM is found in a post-game only location. A lot of good TMs suffer that same issue. If this was White, Reuniclus would certainly outclass it but your version gets Gothitelle which is still decent.

Keeping Eelektross over Zebstrika will allow for another type to add, such as a Grass-type. As mentioned, you can trade a Cottonee for a Petilil with an ingame NPC. Chandelure would be also one I'd recommend due to its power, and Darmanitan is another Fire-type with physical strength as strong as Chandelure's special stats. Excadrill is also nice if you want a hard-hitter (surprised that wasn't mentioned earlier), since it gets Earthquake by level-up and has a ton of attack power.

Are you sure about Bouffalant? It's very late-game, and while it can get some neat moves like EQ, Poison Jab and the famed Head Charge, i wouldn't truly recommend it.

Eelektross is a beast with one of the most diverse movesets ever. Might be frustrating to level up Tynamo, but it is worth it.

I'd say Gothitelle over Musharna. I always leaned towards Reuniclus(imo he's better than both of them), but you're playing Black, so yeah.

    Ditch Zebstrika, it's worthless.

As Ludger said, a Dragon type is very good. While Druddigon is tanky and can hit hard and has a nice variety of moves, i always used Haxorus more, because of its mindblowing Attack stat. I wouldn't recommend Hydreigon because Deino comes in very late, and you can only evolve it at level 64. I'd only recommend him for post-game stuff.

And as Hikamaru said, Excadrill is absolutely wondrous. My W2 one had Sandstorm, Rock Slide, Earthquake and Swords Dance with Sand Rush. That beast was capable of destroying anything.

Anyways, i think that's all i have to say to you. Hope you can make a great team and play through what i think is the best Gen of all time.

Xherdan has a point, Bouffalant comes very late-game (in fact I recall just around 8th Gym). A good alternative Normal-type I'd pick would be Stoutland, since you get it really early as a Lillipup and it's one of the few early Pokemon that remains good throughout the game. Once it has the Return TM it can really dish out some huge damage.

And a heads-up about Eelektross. Tynamo has a very slim 1% encounter rate in Chargestone Cave (at least I think it's around that rate) so good luck even finding the little thing. As for Dragon-types, Haxorus would be your best bet since it's the earliest one you get. Axew can be caught in Mistralton Cave, which you do need Surf to reach.

Considering how long of a dungeon Chargestone Cave is, along with BW's ridiculous encounter rate, I don't think searching for a Tynamo will be too bad. But whenever you do run into one, be very careful because it's a frail little thing, haha. Shouldn't be difficult to capture once it's found, though.

But it pays off really well. Eelektross has a crazy range of moves, from stuff like Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Flash Cannon and Signal Beam to things like Crunch, Acrobatics and Aqua Tail.

Personally I would run a physical coil Eelektross for black 1, majority of the good moves you can only get in B2/W2 or postgame.

Anyways Swasbuck and Jellicent are are also good choices. Dearling/Swasbuck has a pretty nice set with Jump kick/Return/horn leach/filler and jellicent is really nice for being able to learn ice beam/blizzard surf shadowball filler and having a lesser disable as its ability is always nice.
