    Right, so here we have Red, Blue, and....some random girl with a Squirtle? Does she have a name? This, as you've probably noticed, is Gen I artwork, in which there wasn't an option to travel as a female trainer. Can someone help me out here?

    Who is it?
     
    That is from the manga. The trainers are Red, Blue (Green in jap version) and Green(Blue in the Jap Version) like the generation 1 games read the manga on serebii if you want to know.
     
    I'm pretty sure that there was originally going to be a girl in Generation1 but it was scrapped. If I'm wrong about that, then it's probably from the Pokemon Special manga, where that girl would be called "Blue" in Japan, and "Green" in America.
     
    Yup, it's early concept art of the female character who was adapted into Blue in Special and then kinda-sorta brought back for FR/LG.

    It's not from the manga, the art style is too different, but there is a reference to it in the manga, where there's a picture of Red, Blue, and Green with their fully-evolved starters in a pose just like this one.

    Yes indeed, that's the one. Like I said, the art style was way different. Also note the directions the characters are looking in each picture, and the position of the ball symbol.

    Yes It was cut from the game because of the GB Cart limitations.
    The girl appears as the optional female protagonist in FR/LG. No offical name was released (The same goes as the girl that replaces Kris in HG/SS) so its assumed she is named by the other version (FireRed/LeafGreen
