I have a white psp and it doesn't show any smudges so go for white

And the Brain Age 2 DS doesn't have as bright a screen.

Smudges shouldn't bother you, all you have to do is get a cloth (or even your shirt) and wipe it. That's what I do with my Red/Black one.

I'd go for white because my brother has a black one and the fingerprints show up very clearly.

Black DS lite all the way, The white one is ok, but not as cool :) and the old ds is chucnky, hard to hold and onlt about 20 or 30 bucks (australian) cheaper

The DSfat is much more durable than the Lite. The plastic on it is much more sturdy.
The Lite has better picture, what with a better backlight. It's also smaller, and slips right into your pocket. Sure the fat one does too, but it's uncomfortable to sit down with it in your pocket. The DS Lite though seems to be more prone to issues, such as body damage, dead/stuck pixels (mine has 1 on each screen), etc. But as long as you're careful with it, you don't have to worry...
as for color, yes black smudges easily, but the stuff onscreen can be enhanced by the black frame. A minor thing, but worth mentioning...

Electronics with a black gloss tend to show scratches, fingerprints, and other imperfections easier than white gloss.

I picked a pink DS lite since it's my favorite color. :3 I still have my old DS, and I really don't want anything to do with it. The lite is SO much better.

Erm.
Well... I like the DS Lite because it's easier to carry. xD
I don't think the DS would fit into my pocket, my Lite barely fits into my own jeans.
And as for colors... I might not be the best to ask. <<;
I got a pink one, but that's because I love how the shade of pink isn't hot pink and because I'm girly.
That, and I wanted it to match my Pearl version. 8D -Shot.-

Black does show up finger prints and I am forever cleaning mine trying to make sure I can see my face in it which is scary! hehe
I wouldnt like white as I saw my sisters one and it had marked up a little, I did hear a few reports that the DS lite has had problems where its hinges had snapped and mine creaks when I close It I get so afraid this will happen to mine, I think the old DS was stronger but picture, brightness and ease of playing I would chance the lite every time! xx

To the OP:
Do they even sell the regular DS anymore? At least where I live, the only DS on the shelves are Lites...
That being said, pick up a Lite. Anything with the word "Lite" in the product name must be deemed to be good.
Otherwise get a normal DS for its value as an antique.
