Well, it does if you get lucky in Lilycove......

Hehe, yep, but you'd need the kind of luck you'd have if you managed to catch Ray with his HP full and a regular pokeball, so it comes down to the same thing ^^; And have that kind of luck, not many people do :(

Well, I did it with only 1 attack after three turns with a Timer Ball, so maybe I should try the lotto, lol...

Hey, there's nothing you can do but to keep on trying (or getting more balls).

Its completely luck based, it took me 15 tries to catch mewtwo (he fainted 14 times) and the 15th time, he was caught by the second ultra ball. See, its all luck based. (my deoxys (lvl 30) was caught with one ultraball XD)

My new 8th-or-so Kyogre was caught with just one Ultra Ball, too...but Rayquaza burned through 9. I guess it matters whether the legendary likes you or not..

Like toothache said, Great Balls are better. I think it was shanecdavis that said in another thread that he has had more luck using Great balls to catch legendaries than Ultra Balls. I also find it easy to catch them with Great Balls.
The success rate is higher.

I think the bulk of discussion that this thread could have is gone. Therefore, I will close this. If you have any more questions over this subject or any other, consult Simple Questions. The link to this thread is in my sig and in the group of stickies near the top of the R/S/E (GBA) thread listing.
