Hello everyone, I'm currently making my own difficulty hack (surprise surprise, sorry folks), using Fire Red and the CFRU Engine. I want to scale it somewhere between a Drayano hack and Radical Red's Easy/Normal Difficulty. I've currently overhauled majority of the pokemon so they're usable; Giving better abilities where I can that would still make sense. I've given competitive teams to the Rival, Gym Leaders, Victory Road Trainers and the E4; still looking to find improved trainer teams throughout the entire game. I think to make this post easier to read I'll make a list of things I need help with. Just know, I don't plan on changing the story; So it'll be completely vanilla! Using HexManiacAdvance, which is Binary! Looking for someone talented with scripting to help me get the features I'm desperately looking to bring into my rom hack!
-More Competitive trainer teams (Diverse Typings, Competitive Movesets, Perfect IVs, Held Items) I'm currently working on this as we speak.
-Adding QoL features such as Nature Changer, Move Relearner, Portable PC in the Menu ,Dexnav, B/W Repel System (should be included in CFRU but I'm unsure!), stuff like that
-Built in level caps (Similar to how Radical Red has it, where you can't go above a certain level until you get the next badge)
-More or less an optional feature, but I'd love to include Fakemon! Either some original Fakemon, or something akin to Regional Variants/Megas/Additional Evolutions/Prevolutions!
As of now, I've done the following:
-Implemented an NPC that gives Rare Candies
-Implemented the DexNav feature
-Had a built-in-randomizer NPC (Had to restart bc I messed something up and completely forgotten how to implement the species randomizer back in! Still has the ability randomizer though! Although I'm thinking about changing it, more can be discussed on that!)
-Updated Graphics using Icarus' HG/SS Tilesets
-Revamped many Pokemon to become usable and allow diverse team-building; Increased Stats, Assigning better Abilities, Revamped Movepool, and Type Changes!
-Revamped Gym Leader, Victory Road Trainers, and E4 Teams; with a competitive team and movesets!
What I'm currently looking for!
-Someone experienced with Binary Hacking and ASM Routines that can help implement QoL features and certain difficulty-enhancement features. I'm currently trying to learn everything I can but I need help with implementing certain features and a bit of guidance.
-Optionally, I would love to have a spriter/artists dedicated to making some regional forms or perhaps additional evolutions or mega evolutions!
I hope I'm not asking for much! I'd like to make my own difficulty hack with how I'd like to enhance these pokemon so that most of them are usable, while also providing the same QoL features as something like Radical Red so the game isn't a grind-fest and enjoyable.
