Need help with fixing errors regarding NME and other applications.

    Hello all!

I have previously done ROM hacking throughout the years, however, nothing too serious, as I can't programme or anything like that (I don't like maths and I'm not good at it...). I've mostly just changed maps and characters, anyhow.

I'm currently having a problem with some applications, which include NME (nameless sprite editor) Overworld Editor and others.

With Nameless Sprite Editor I am getting this problem whenever I open the Trainer Sprites or Footprint Sprites:

    (Unhandled exception has occured....)

    Spoiler:

    Sappy:

I have used Sappy in the past and have generally had no problems. Specifically I have used Pokemon Emerald, and it loaded all the game music just fine, I was even able to rip some of the music.

However this time it is not picking up actual music at all instead its picking up sound effects (e.g healing sound, attack sounds, etc)

I don't know how to fix this. And I have Sappy 2006, and another version that's supposed to be working. I have downloaded Sappy in the past from some random website which I don't remember, and that was the working version.

    With IconEditor
I get the message whenever I open a ROM:

    Run-Time error '380'
    Invalid Property Value

With the Day,Night and Seasons application Pokemon Sapphire loads just fine, but with Pokemon FireRed It says "Maybe an old-DAN System detected..." ETC.

Has anybody else had these problems, and I would really be grateful to anybody who helps me.
    Thank you very much.
    :)

If you are using Firered as your base ROM, you should probably use Firered v1.0. It is more supported. But if this doesn't clears things up, I am truly sorry...

Also, for some reason, I can't decrease the colour depths of some sprites to 16 bit colours.

This means the sprite is already at 16 colors.

I see, when I do find a v1.0 ROM then hopefully it should work.

I thought this may have been the case, just wanted to double check. Thank you though.

I'm thinking after reading through the error for NME a few times, (I dont know for sure if this has anything to do with the error, but I'll take a stab in the dark anyway;) I think it may not be working because it seems to be looking for a version 1 of windows framework when I have version 4.
Could be something else, but that's my guess, I'm no coder or programmer at all. 😂

    Edit:

Thank you so much Pikachu37! It turns out my problem with most of the programmes was the rom version! I can load trainer sprites etc with 1.0. Thanks for the tip, I would have never guessed.

I am glad I could be of assistance.
