    Pokemon: Neo Destiny

Hey, SBaby here! This is my first fanfic regarding Pokemon. It takes place about 5 years after the Pokemon series ends. Ash still has Pikachu, Treeko, Cindaquill, Bulbasaur, etc... etc..., as well as a few new Pokemon which will be revealed later in the story.

I know many of you are groaning at the thought of "yet another series supposition". Let me tell you right now. This is different from any other stories out there with the original cast in them.

This assumes that Ash went through the Orre region, so don't be surprised when it's mentioned, as well as a few other familiar things and even more unfamiliar things...

Don't be afraid to give feedback right in this topic. Each chapter of my story will be in a seperate post. I'm always looking for advice. Just know that the latest chapter is always subject to change, until the next one comes out. So, tell me what you think!

    _____________________PROLOGUE_____________________

The blinding flash could be seen all throughout Hoenn. In the sky, various Taillow and Pidgeotto could be seen flocking with an obvious sense of unease. It was then that Professor Elm knew the horrible truth... The seal was broken...

As the flash dimmed, a figure could be seen, floating in the crater which used to be known as the location of the Millenium Festival. Its large bat-like wings flexed in the moonlight, and its muscular body pulsated with an ominous energy that could only be described as pure evil... As it opened its blood-red eyes, a malevolant grin lined the creature's face... "Finally, I am free...," was all it said.

As the creature settled on the ground, a man approached him from behind. "Rumors of your power were definately not exaggerated..."

The creature turned around and saw the one who released him... A man stood in his 30s with long blonde hair, and a white mask over his eyes. His body seemed slender and cloaked in a silver robe. As the two sized each other up, they didn't notice the glowing stone in the distance.

But some claim to have heard a voice say "This is not the time of my awakening..."

    ______________RETURN OF AN OLD FRIEND_____________

Pallet town had known many sunsets, but none would be as anticipating as this one. Finally, after all these years, they would truly know which one of them was the best.

"Ok Taillow. I want you to dodge left just as Blastoise releases his Hydro-Pump. After the attack, he'll be off-balance for a second. That's when we hit him!!"

Ash had really improved his Pokemon, but so had Gary. "Go into a spin just as you do Hydro-Pump!!"

As Taillow dodged to the left, the spin began, sending a large blast of high-quality H2O directly at Taillow. "Taillooooooo!!" was all it uttered as it came crashing to the ground.

Gary smirked. "Pretty good, but it'll take more than that to beat Blastoise!!"

"I'm just getting started," Ash said as he recalled Taillow and pulled out another Poke-Ball.

"Ok Treeko. It's all up to you!! Do it!!" Ash shouted as he hurled the ball. Out came the gecko-like Treeko.

As Treeko and Blastoise stared each other down, the sun began to disappear behind the mountains that lined the western side of the Farmlands. Brock, the Rock Trainer and Pokemon Breeder oversaw the battle, taking his standard position as referee. Max, now a full-fledged Trainer looked on with his sister, May, from the side opposite of Brock.

Professor Sam Oak had taken position near Brock and also oversaw the battle between Ash and his nephew. He couldn't have been more proud of how the two had grown up.

Ash's Mom stood to Brock's left, waiting for the battle to play out. "I guess when the next time might be the last, there's no rushing..." she said, as the two Pokemon continued to stare each other down.

Though Gary knew that he still had 1 Pokemon in reserve, he also realized that Blastoise was almost out of power. He knew that in order to defeat Treeko, the next attack would have to go in Blastoise's favor.

Ash, realizing that Gary was even with him, knew that this attack would have to count. "Ok Treeko! Let's use Agility and IronTail Blastoise as we move in." he wispered.

A grin came over Ash's face, and at that time, Gary knew Blastoise was done for. Treeko was already on top of the Water Pokemon before he could react. "NOW!!" was all Ash had to say. When IronTail hit, Blastoise was sent back 100 yards, crashing into a tree. It was over for him. "Blastoise is unable to battle!!" Brock shouted, as Gary recalled his Pokemon.

Gary took out his last Poke-Ball and kissed it, immediately sending it out. Sure enough, it was Umbreon. Before Ash could hear "Hidden Power", Treeko was unconscious.

"Treeko is unable to battle!" Brock said, quite annoyingly actually. Ash grinned once again as he recalled his Pokemon.

"Thanks Treeko," he said. "You've improved."

"As have you," Gary said, returning the comment.

"Time to end this. Pikachu! You're up!" Ash said, as Pikachu ran up to the field.

As the two Pokemon stared each other down, Ash and Gary did the same. They were so focused on the battle that they didn't notice a civilian running from the town. It wasn't until larger groups began fleeing that they stopped the fight.

"What the heck is going on?!" Ash shouted to one of the residents.

"War!! We're going to war!!" was all he said as he ran away from the now-burning town.

"Pallet..." Ash said, as Gary and he looked on in disbelief.

"Pikaa..." was all Pikachu could say, but it was obvious he was scared.

"We have to go and help." Ash said.

"No! Don't go!!" Ash looked to see who the voice was coming from. "I have to go Mom. Don't worry. I'll be careful." he said as he started running toward the town. Gary had already gone ahead of him, and was out of sight.

"I know it's difficult, but they're Pokemon Trainers. They face situations like this all the time!" Professor Oak said.

"I'll help them. Don't worry." Brock said as he started dashing toward the town.

The town was already engulfed in flames by the time Gary and Ash got there. "Blastoise! Help put these flames out!" Gary said as Blastoise came out of his ball. Blastoise was still weak from battle, but conscious now.

"Ok Tododile! Help Blastoise!" Ash said, throwing the ball.

As the two Pokemon worked the flames, Ash and Gary looked for anyone lingering in town. It was beginning to appear that everyone had evacuated.

"And the Trainers have arrived." Both Ash and Gary heard a voice and looked in awe. A young man in a silver uniform was standing in the middle of town with three Charizards.

Ash gasped in horror, realizing the evident. "You did this... You told the Charizards to burn Pallet down... How could you?!" Ash said with a hint of rage!

"Do I need to explain MY actions to mere bugs?!" he said in a stuck-up tone.

Ash needed no further motive. "Pikachu! Let's do it!!" With that, Pikachu became battle-ready.

Gary was on Ash's side this time! "Umbreon! It's time!!" he said as Umbreon came out.

The man grinned, "You plan on defeating my three Charizards with two weak Pokemon?! Well, I aim to please!!" With that, the Charizards commenced to attack!

The Charizards focused their Fire Breath on Pikachu. "Dodge it and counter!" Ash shouted as the fires were already dissipating. Pikachu dodged it pretty easily and rammed into the nearest one sending it reeling. Umbreon had already felled one of the three, so two were left.

"You bastards are really getting on my nerves! That's it! Time for the real show!! Charizards 1 and 3!!! Fuse together!!"

Ash and Gary both looked stunned. Fuse?? What did he mean?? These thoughts would be answered within the next moment.

A flash of light preluded the performance. When the flash ended, both Charizards were glowing. A brighter flash. "There's only one... What happened??" Ash said as one Charizard remained. Though slightly bigger, it seemed the same as the other two were.

As the battle began again, the increase in power from the so-called 'fusion' was unmistakable. Where Pikachu and Umbreon were easily fending off the individual attacks, this newly fused Charizard was several times stronger.

"Agility!" came the simultaneous orders from Ash and Gary. Despite this Charizard's Tail Whip preempted the speed increase.

"Pikachu!!" Ash yelled as his Pokemon hit the ground. Umbreon slammed into Gary as the two Trainers looked in shock.

"Now I will show you what happens to those that toy with Team Dark!!" the man in silver said as he recalled his unconscious Charizard. "Attack them with Fire Blast!!" At this time, two others appeared, both dressed in similar uniforms. They both had Hitmontops at their side.

"You can't!! It's against regulations!" Gary stated as the Charizard approached them. 'Guess this is it...' Ash thought as the Pokemon got closer.

The fire was now completely out in Town. However, one of the houses behind Ash had began smoldering in one spot. The fact that a beam had been shot through the wall of the house didn't sink in until the Charizard that they had been fighting now had a nice burn on it.

As the wall of the house crumbled, Ash immediately recognized the figure that emerged.

    ______________A NEW JOURNEY BEGINS_____________

A white Pokemon with a red cape emerged from the building. It stood about 4 feet tall and seemed completely focused.

"MewTwo!!" was all that Ash could say before the fight resumed. Before any thoughts could be exchanged, the Charizard was already unconscious, and re-split into the original two.

The man in silver recalled the two Charizards, and the two teammates took their turn. The first one had brown hair and wore a blue headband. The other one wore a green headband and was bald. They both appeared to be in their early twenties.

Both Hitmontops were sent out simultaneously, spin-kicking the Pokemon. As they neared, he flew into the air and put one hand out in front of him. This was Ash and Gary's cue. "RUN!!" Ash yelled as they took off after recalling their own creatures.

Once out of range, they could only watch as the area was laid to waste. After a moment, MewTwo emerged from what was left of the town. "It's over," was all he said...

As the citizens of Pallet returned, they gazed in disbelief at the utter destruction that awaited them. The entire Town Square had been leveled, and the only thing that saved any of the houses was the fact that they were on the outskirts of the Town.

"Who were they?!" Ash asked impatiently.

MewTwo sighed. "To reveal their identities, I must first bring you to the spot that 'the One' designated."

Ash paused for a moment. At the age of 17, he'd had enough of Leagues and journeys, which was understandable, seeing as he remembered full-well what had transpired the first time he met MewTwo. Had his memories not been erased initially, he might have retired sooner. The thought of two armies of Pokemon almost killing each other off was more than enough to cause anyone to give up their Pokemon Journey. However, this situation was just the incentive he needed to come out of retirement.

"Well Pikachu, I guess the time is ripe for another adventure..." he said as a smile came over his face.

Even in the face of such tragedy, a statement like that was enough to give a glimmer of hope to the people whose lives were drastically changed in this incident. It was only natural that the citizens, knowing full well Ash's reasons for retiring would applaud the statement.

"Hey! Don't even think of leaving ME here!!" Gary shouted as Ash was about to run off into the wilderness.

"And what will you do without MY cooking?!" Brock echoed after Gary.

The two emerged with Max. "And what would you do without my knowledge of Pokemon??" Max asked, as if to scold Ash.

"Guys..." Was all Ash could think of saying in response to the offers.

"Forgetting someone?" Ash turned to see May. They gazed at each other for a moment. Both of them had grown very fond of each other over the years, despite being apart constantly.

Ash was left speechless. After what seemed like the longest minute on Earth, all he could say was "All right!! Our next adventure begins here!!!"

As the five followed MewTwo out of town, the rest of Pallet was there to see them off. They had no idea what awaited them, but knew that whatever challenges lied before them, their skill as Trainers, and desire to protect others, would enable them to overcome every obstacle in their way...

    ______________AN OMINOUS MESSAGE_______________

"How far is it to this 'spot'?" Ash asked as the group continued on the path to the west of Pallet. They were already a half-day's journey from the Town and no landmarks seemed to stick out.

"It's not far now." was all MewTwo said as they continued on.

They had already stopped for breakfast, but fatigue was setting in; the group had gotten no sleep since two nights ago, and the effects of sleep deprivation were being felt by not only the human part of the group, but the Pokemon as well. MewTwo realized that he was also feeling these effects.

"Ok. I think we should get a few hours rest here." the white Pokemon said, as he stopped and propped himself up against a tree. "Only a few though. 'The One' wants to meet us by nightfall."

The gang was more than happy to cooperate, and before long, everyone was asleep.

Somewhere in Johto, an ominous shadow loomed overhead, accompanied by several others.

Above the sky, several Butterfree quickly got out of the way of the gigantic Airship that was the 'Gias'. Inside, the chief Generals of Team Dark were meeting to discuss the recent awakening of the target Pokemon.

"It is as we theorized." A man standing about 5'11'', in his 40s with, graying hair and the familiar silver uniform stood and explained, "the implementation of the Legendary Pokemon is essential in realizing Asmodia's true potential."

"If that's true, then why hasn't he responded to the ones that we have?!" a man with blue hair who seemed younger than the other three asked insultingly. "Or does 'Gaspar', Chief General of Science, need more money?!"

"You know as well as I do that Legendary Pokemon are very unstable!! Or have you forgotten, Dorlan Crusala?!" Gaspar stated.

"Even still, we have very little time." The silver-haired masked man said. "Even I, Jade Ashcroft of the Platinum Brigade can only hold off the Elites for so long. We need a definite trump card if we're going to be successful here... I hate having to go through these means to bring an end to the Pokemon League, but if it stops innocent creatures from being taken against their will, and forced to fight, then I for one will go to whatever means is necessary..."

Jade took one last look around the room and stopped at a man with long black hair and blue armor, with a sword strapped to his belt. "That includes you, Daos of the Flame Brigade!" After stating that, he left the room, as Daos smirked.

Jade entered a laboratory, where two familiar looking creatures were trapped in individual spheres. Latios and Latias had given up any attempt to break their glass prison, and just awaited their fate.

Jade still didn't understand why he was driven to come down here every day. Perhaps it was guilt or pity, who knows... All he knew is that he didn't need such emotions!! All they did was get people killed, like his sister... Still, he was driven to see the two even now.

He touched the sphere holding Latias. "I'm so sorry... If only there was another way... But I promise, the day that you become free again is near... Just hang on a little longer..." As he finished speaking he could swear that he heard a girl cry from inside the sphere.

It was now midday in the Kanto Region. As the sun reached the peak of its daily journey, the team began to stir. Though Ash was adept to 5 hours of sleep per day, Gary was not. It was an interesting experience, to say the least.

"How do you do it? How do you go on 5 hours a day?" Gary asked, obviously fatigued.

"You get used to it after awhile. You'd be amazed at what the human body can handle." Ash said as he packed his sleeping bag.

"We must go North from here." MewTwo said, motioning to a forest in the distance.

"Hold on. That forest isn't on any map. How could it be here?" Max asked in his know-it-all tone.

"It is known by some as the Forest of Illusions." MewTwo replied. "It only appears when a great crisis faces the world. We haven't much time."

The group started for the Forest.

"Here." Ash said, giving Gary a can of soda. "It's called Pepsol. It wakes you right up."

"Thanks, Ash." Gary said as he took a swig. In no time, he was wide awake. "Man, you weren't kidding!"

As the group entered the Forest, it became obvious why it was called the Forest of Illusions. The entire Forest seemed transparent, as if it were a hologram.

"We should be just about there. It is the only clearing in the Forest." MewTwo stated as the group continued on.

After about a mile of traveling, a faint light could be seen in the distance.

"What is this? I feel like I know this light..." Max said as the group headed toward the light. After a few more minutes, they arrived at the clearing.

In the clearing, Max understood why he felt that he knew the light. "Jirachi..." was all he could say, as he gazed at the figure that stood before the group.

"Welcome... I've been waiting for you." Jirachi said.

"So, this is Jirachi..." Gary said, as he stared in utmost interest.

"I thought I'd never see you again..." Max said, almost choking back tears. At 15, he had gotten over the fact that Jirachi wouldn't be back for 1000 years, but seeing him again, memories of the Pokemon flooded back into Max's mind. It was almost overwelming.

"It is good to see you again too, Max." Jirachi said, as he smiled. Then the smile disappeared. "I only wish it were under better circumstances."

"What do you mean by 'circumstances'?" May asked with a degree of curiosity.

"I don't know how else to tell you this, so I'll just say it." Jirachi said, now with a grim look on his face. "This planet is in grave danger."

    "What from?" Ash asked, anxiously?

Jirachi paused, then continued. "Six Millenia ago, an evil Wizard named Zarnon used his power to create a powerful Pokemon. This Pokemon, named Asmodia joined Zarnon in a reign of unparalleled evil."

"How were they stopped?" Brock asked, as he put two fingers to his chin, and flexed his goatee.

Jirachi continued, "Mew, Celebi, Latios, Latias, and myself, chose a group of trainers, like yourselves, and destroyed Zarnon. For his crimes, Asmodia was banished to a seal under the same ground that I once slept in. But now, that seal has been broken by the leader of Team Dark."

"Those guys that attacked Pallet!" Ash stated.

"Exactly!" Jirachi said. "Asmodia will undoubtedly attempt to evolve into his ultimate form, by absorbing the crests on the Eight Pokemon of Legend, Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, Lugia, Entei, Suicune, Latios, and Latias. If this happens, I doubt that even we will have enough power to stop him."

"What should we do?" Gary asked. "It's not like WE have the power to stand up to such a threat."

"That is where you're mistaken." Jirachi stated. "I've seen the way you all handle your Pokemon, and I can say without a doubt, you five are the perfect trainers to be chosen by us."

The group had once again been left speechless.

"Max!" Jirachi said. "Your caring and knowledge of Pokemon make you the perfect choice for me. Ash." Ash stepped up. "A familiar friend awaits you in the Frozen Tundra."

"Mew!" Ash already knew which Pokemon Jirachi was talking about.

"You continue to amaze me. Brock!" Jirachi said, as Brock stepped up. "Your sincerity and skill with earth-based Pokemon makes you the best choice for Celebi. Seek him in the Fountain of Life, in the Johto Region."

"May!" Jirachi stated as she stepped up to the front. "Someone very dear to you is in danger. You must rescue her from enemy hands."

"Gary!" Gary looked up. "The tides of destiny have changed since ancient times. MewTwo shall be your guide for this journey."

"I'll help, but don't expect me to go into a Pokeball!" MewTwo said as he made his altimatum.

Jirachi continued on. "One other has been chosen to support you. Latios will be her guide. You will find her in the City of Water. Now, the path is set, and the journey begins."

"Where should we start?" Ash said. The same thought crossed everyone's mind.

"That, is up to you..." was all that Jirachi said.

    _______________THE TRAINER OF WATER______________

Cerulean City had always been a lush paradise, but thanks to Articuno's recent blessing, it was more magnificent than ever. Ever since the incident with Lugia, Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos had constantly been migrating from region to region. Finally, after all the years, they seemed to have settled.

Even Misty, the former Gym Leader, had to admit, "Life doesn't get much better than this..."

"Toke tokeprrre." came the familiar sound of her Togepi. A strange one indeed, it never evolved into a Togetick. But that was just fine with Misty. He could just stay in that shell forever, as far as she was concerned.

It was already high noon when she returned from the Center. Although just a volunteer, she was already becoming an excellent Nurse. In fact, Nurse Joy had asked Misty on more than one occasion to change her name to Joy, but she would always stubbornly say, "It's just a summer job!" She would never admit how fond she actually WAS of the work.

Her sisters had all moved on, so she almost had the entire Gym to herself. "Hey, Misty! How did your day go?" Tracie said, as he emerged from the Gym area of the house. Like she thought, almost...

"It was actually pretty intense. We had three fractures, one concussion, and a case of Arbok poisoning. Needless to say, I didn't get a break!" Misty sighed as the two walked to the front of the Gym.

"Well, with the recent lull after the League, of course it won't be busy..." Tracie said. "Don't fret, though. It's better than..."

"Seeing a bunch of Pokemon all hurt... I know!" Misty added. "Still, it would be nice to get some real experience in this field..."

It was about this time that Misty saw the reflection of Articuno in the fountain in front of the Gym. However, it was followed by a reflection that she didn't recognize.

"Team Dark!!!" Misty heard a citizen scream out, as a group of people in silver uniforms ran in the direction of Articuno.

The only thing she could do at the time was look up. "My...god..." was all that escaped her lips. Hundreds of Airships filled the skies.

Articuno had singled out the Gias with its reflexes. Even Jade was impressed with the resilience of the Legendary Pokemon. "You are definitely worthy of the title 'Legendary'." he stated, as the Gias gave chase.

"Flame brigade, launch!!" Jade heard the order from Daos, and before he could object, there were already over 50 Charizards in the sky.

The City was in an uproar, to say the least. Channel 4 was already covering the event. "This is Deborah Mikleby reporting live from Cerulean City, where Team Dark has boxed the residents in. It seems that most of the Airships are on the outskirts of the City, and only the one called the Gias is within the City, apparently chasing Articuno! The others have formed a perimeter and... Wait... Something's happening."

Just then, a sphere of pure energy shot out of one of the Gias' cannons. Articuno screamed out in pain as it was engulfed by the energy, only to be drawn into the massive Airship.

Inside the Gias, sounds of cheers could be heard. "Now... Destroy the city!!" Daos shouted as he recalled the Flame Brigade.

"Stop it, Daos! There's no need to..." Jade couldn't finish as Daos interrupted.

"This way, they won't notify the League!! Now, destroy Cerulean City!!" Daos said.

"Bastard..." Jade said as he could only watch...

The news reporter continued. "Unreal! Articuno was captured!! Wait... This just in. Another Airship is approaching the City... It's the Super Nova!!!"

An enornous shadow now loomed over a third of Cerulean City. The platinum Airship, Super Nova was only called in the cases of extreme importance, and this was no exception.

"Ok. Bring us in range of the nearest Airship." A young man with brown hair fixed in a ponytail in his late twenties gave the order.

"In range, Lance. I'll send down Alakazam to generate a forcefield around the City!" A woman with white hair placed a Poke-Ball on a platform. It disappeared, and Cerulean City was suddenly protected by a barrier.

At this time, most of the Airships had fled, including the Gias. Only a few remained, seemingly as decoys.

"Fire!!!" Lance shouted, as a large beam was shot at one of the Airships. The blast disentegrated the ship, and the remaining ones fled at the sight of this.

It wasn't until evening that the City began to settle down. Misty still retained a look of awe for the better part of the day. She didn't know whether to cheer for the Super Nova chasing off Team Dark, or mourn at the loss of Articuno.

"Misty!" The familiar voice of Ash quickly snapped her out of the gaze.

"Guys!!" she said, as she was greeted by Ash, Brock, Gary, Max, and May. She was quite surprised to see MewTwo. After exchanging greetings, the group proceeded inside.

As the sun began setting, the group finished updating Misty and Tracie on current events.

"So, I am needed in order to free Latios?" Misty said with surprise.

"I'm afraid so." Jirachi said in response.

Misty needed no time to take this in. She had already made up her mind when they began talking. "Of course I'll go!! You need me to keep Brock in check!!"

"Thanks. WHAAAT??" Brock said with surprise. "You're merciless..."

"How about I come too?" Tracie said, as he already had his things packed. "You could always use another hand!"

Ash nodded in acknowledgement. "Yes. The larger the group, the better our odds are. We should ALL go."

MewTwo looked at the sky, which was already dark. "Then it's settled. We leave at dawn."

Ash looked at the mountains to the west. "That's the Frozen Tundra... I guess we should go there next..."

In no time, dawn broke and the group was on their way to the Frozen Tundra. Thoughts raced through their minds, as to how they could stop such a monster from destroying their world, and what would they have to go through to get to that point.

Ash was beginning to have doubts as to whether or not he was the right one for this task. "Don't worry. Everything is going to be alright..." Ash looked around to see who said that, but the others were already almost out of sight. "Pikachu?" Ash said. He then began running toward the others with a smile on his face.

    ___________________THE FROZEN TUNDRA_________________

It was midday by the time the group reached the base of the Mountains. Ash could already sense Mew's power, so he knew they were close. Even still, he realized that they had quite a climb ahead of them. These mountains led to the Frozen Tundra, a cold lifeless wasteland, where survival was granted to those who could stay warm.

As Ash began looking for a good place to begin the climb, he heard MewTwo speak. "Allow me. And up we go." The group was suddenly surrounded in a field of light.

"Oh yeah. I forgot about that..." Ash said as he began to relax.

Even with the speed of the 'Psychic Elevator', it still took a good hour to get past the mountain. Upon landing, the entire group was already beginning to feel the effects of the Tundra.

"C...c....cold...." Max uttered as he could obviously see his breath.

The group quickly threw on their cold-weather gear, and continued forward. Strangely enough, Ash knew exactly which direction to go in, and was now leading the group.

After another hour of walking, an igloo could be seen in the distance. For some reason, the temperature began to increase gradually as the group approached it.

Two adult eskimos and a child emerged from the igloo. "Ahh! Guests!" the female adult proclaimed. "Come in. Come in!!" Ash and company were more than happy to accept the offer.

The igloo was surprisingly roomy, given the size of the group. It was almost warm enough in the igloo to remove the winter gear. But, that would wait. Dinner was served.

After everyone ate, the child stared at Pikachu with a profound interest. "Can I play with your Pokemon, sir?" the kid asked in a high-pitched voice.

"Sure. Just don't upset him." Ash replied. The child beamed and took Pikachu into his room. "Wabbafet!" came another voice from the child's room.

It took a few minutes for Ash to put 2 and 2 together. "Wait! You arent..."

"Prepare for trouble at Sub-Zero!" the lady suddenly shouted.
"And make it double, you wannabe hero!" the man added.
"To protect the world from devastation,"
"To unite all peoples within our nation,"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love,"
"To extend our reach to the stars above,"
At this time, they removed their hoods.
    "Jessie!"
    "James!"
"Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"
At this time, the kid reappeared and unmasked himself.
    "Meowth, dat's right!!"
In addition, the familiar blue creature appeared.
    "Waaabbaaafet!!"

"And I didn't see this coming..." was all Ash could think of saying.

"Why don't you morons get a life?!" Gary asked.

James scowled. "We have one! A good one!!"

Meowth added, "Yeah, remember dat last gig?" He then began to reminisce back to when he used to play Speedy in Samurai Pizza Cats. Each kick he had gotten to the groin made him wince. "Come on! I chased a freakin' mouse!!" He then recalled how the Big Cheese used to explode at the end of each episode.

James added, "It was the perfect change in his career!"

Ash sighed, "Ok... What have you got planned THIS time?..."

Meowth beamed, "Glad ya asked!" He then proceeded to take out a remote and push a series of buttons, lifting the igloo into the air. "Pikachu is in da Escape Pod, which is programmed ta head directly to da Boss! You are... Trapped!!"

As he finished, the group noticed that they were stuck to their seats, and couldn't move out of them.

"Dis is da main part of da Airship which will go KaBOOM in ten minutes!! While we safely ride wit your Pikachu, you'll all be nuttin but frozen ashes when time runs out!! See ya later!!!" Meowth finished, as Jessie, James, Wabbafet, and himself boarded the escape pod, where Pikachu was caught in the familiar glass bubble.

Ash had to admit, this situation seemed to be inescapable. After about 1 minute, the Escape Pod detached from the Airship.

"What are we going to do?" Max asked, as the time was now down to 8 minutes.

In the Escape Pod, The trio was in celebration. As Pikachu attempted to shatter the glass with Thunderbolts, it became apparent that he would once again have to wait to be rescued. He hated this idea, as he has always felt like he burdened Ash each time, but this case was unique. He knew that Ash and the others were in mortal danger. He wanted to help... He wanted to help badly... He wanted the power to protect his friends for a change... In the midst of the celebration, a Thunderstorm was brewing.

"I feel something..." Ash said as if giving an ominous premonition. "Something is changing..."

As these events were beginning to unfold, a pink Pokemon looked on from the distance.

The Gias once again hovered above the Johto region. Inside, a malevolant laugh echoed in the halls. "It is almost time!!!"

In no time, the abandoned Island Castle in the Hoenn region was restored to perfect condition. Inside, a man in a Purple Robe peered out of a window in the King's room. All of the planning and research had led him up to this moment. "Finally... It begins again..." he said, as he let out a maniacal laugh.

In the escape pod, the trio's celebration continued. They were so transfixed in the fact that they finally caught Pikachu, that they couldn't have possibly noticed the immense aura of power that he was now emitting...

Cool start and nicw prolouge! Conclusion,it's nice!

WOW that is..wow......you are good..better...your great, I can't wait for the rest!!

A little note before I continue. First, the man in the castle is Zarnon, and his laugh sounds like a fairly high-pitched cackle, so think of that whenever I go on about it. On another note, Jade is a former member of Neo Team Rocket, which explains the mask, for those of you that didn't catch on to that tiny detail.

Finally, there is a very very good reason that Jirachi is only supposed to awaken once every thousand years. To put it another way, this is only the beginning.

    _____________________CHAPTER 6_______________________
    ______________THE WHITE PIKACHU EMERGES______________

Ash looked out the window across from him, as if in a daze. He didn't know why, but he felt that everything would change after this day.

Across the table from him, Max struggled to get any part of his body free that he could. His hands had been stuck to the table, just as everybody else was stuck to their seats. "Ok... This isn't glue... It must be some kind of magnetic field that is drawing the fibers of our coats and gloves to it... If I can just get one hand free..." As he said that, his left hand slipped out of the glove.

Jirachi and MewTwo would have intervened by now, except that shackles now had them pinned to the rear wall. "This is a very well-made trap!" MewTwo said with a hint of anger. "I can't seem to focus my energy... The magnetic field must be interfering somehow..."

As this went on, the timer ticked down, 6 minutes, as it read. If the group was going to do something, now would have to be the time.

Max quickly grabbed a Poke-Ball and threw it. "Silfayree! Go!!" he shouted as a silver Pokemon came out. It had wings that resembled Celebis, and its body resembled a pixie. Two red antennae lined its long pink hair. "Sil sil!" was all it said.

Ash knew that Max was a trainer, but even HE hadn't seen a Pokemon like that. He struggled to free a hand. In no time, the right one came loose. Immediately, he pulled out his Poke-Dex.

"Poke-Dex, could you identify that Pokemon?" Ash asked, as the Dex beeped and blipped. After a moment, a status screen popped up.

"According to the Universal Pokemon Database (UPD), that Pokemon is called Silfayree. The highest recorded level for it is 1235, and it can normally be found in the Zanta Region. These Pokemon like to play tricks on unknowing passers-by and will often be heard giggling in the distance. Its most powerful attack is the Cosmo-Shift. Its dominant type is Flying, and its sub-types are Grass and Psychic."

Ash looked in perplexity. "I don't recall Max being in the Zanta Region. Bring up the data on the last known capture."

"The last known capture of a Silfayree was at Route Z16 on PD 1228.6.12 at 3.34 in the afternoon. The capturing Trainer was registered as Jade Ashcroft. His current whereabouts are unknown."

"That's two years ago... Max! When did you get that Pokemon?" Ash called out.

"I got it from Professor Birch when I began as a Trainer." he replied.

"That would explain it..." Ash said, as he put Dex back. "But, what is Cosmo-Shift?"

"Wait a second. You're about to see it." Max said proudly. "Ok Silfayree! Cosmo-Shift!"

Silfayree's eyes began to glow, and it began singing. As it continued, it was surrounded in a blue aura, as was the rest of the group.

"We can get up now," Max said as he stood. The rest of the group did the same. "Cosmo-Shift makes every target temporarily Etherial, meaning the physics of the Material World don't apply for the moment. But it only lasts a short time." Max added, as he flipped a formerly out-of-reach switch. "So, you have to get the job done quick. It's a great move to use in this kind of situation."

In the next second, the group could hear the sound of shattering. They looked in the direction of the Psychics. They were no longer bound to the wall.

The celebration in the Escape Pod came to an abrupt halt. James was the first to say something. "Is Pikachu some kind of robot?"

"No, he's just an Electric Pokemon." Jessie answered back. "Why?"

"Because his eyes are glowing like one!" James stated.

As the trio looked on, they became more confused with each second. Pikachu was now surrounded by a golden aura of energy, and even James could sense the immense power eminating from the little mouse.

It was then that the three looked out the window at the massive thunderstorm that had brewed. Bolts of lightning struck the ground so hard, that the ice caps were actually melting and land could be seen under them. In all of history, only Zapdos was able to manipulate the weather to any degree near this, but even HE couldn't do this!

"It's the end of the world!!! Repent!!! Repent!!!" James screamed out hysterically.

Jessie had finally put the obvious together. "It's... Pikachu!!!" she said, as she looked back at the Pokemon. Another Thunderbolt struck closer to the Pod. The shuttle vibrated from the proximity. Pikachu looked almost posessed, as the aura around him continued to strengthen.

"Piiiikaaa!!!" Pikachu cried as another bolt of lightning came down.

What happened next, not even Ash's Poke-Dex would be able to explain. As the storm only increased in power, the bubble that had trapped Pikachu suddenly shattered.

"What the..." James said as Pikachu dashed right through the rear wall of the Pod. The aura seemed to protect Pikachu as he busted right through the engine, sending the pod flying into the stormy sky.

"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!" the trio said as they flew off in the all-familiar fashion.

Back in the ship, Ash was once again in a daze. "There is an enormous power approaching us from the East." He pulled out Dex, and scanned the area.

"No data has been recorded on this Pokemon." Ash knew right away that it wasn't Mew. There would have at least been rumors of that Pokemon. But, Ash would soon know who it was.

Pikachu screamed across the sky at a velocity that parted the glaciers below him. He also began to notice that he was growing lighter in color, but he wouldn't stop. He had to help Ash...

As the group looked for a way out, they noticed that the clock had ticked down to 2 minutes. Despite their best efforts, MewTwo and Jirachi were unable to summon enough energy to break out of their steel prison. If there was ever a need for a miracle, now would be the time.

A loud crash-sound echoed in the Airship, as everyone looked in the direction that it came from. There was a white mouse-type Pokemon standing in front of a hole in the hull. It resembled what seemed to be an albino Pikachu, except its eyes were still black. Also, black stripes lined its back, and the end of its tail, instead of brown ones.

Ash seemed posessed once again. "It looks like you've finally begun to awaken," was all that Ash said.

    _____________________TERRA BOLT:_______________________
    ______________THE ULTIMATE THUNDER ATTACK_____________

Pikachu gazed back at Ash, as if they each knew what needed to be done. Ash was the first to break the silence. "Ok. We need to find a way out of here." With only a minute left, and MewTwo and Jirachi still powerless, that was going to be a challenge. Despite that, Ash didn't seem too worried. "OK!! Everybody grab onto me!" he stated out of the blue.

    "But..." Max protested.

"Just trust me!" Ash said. The group cooperated, and everyone had their hands on Ash's shoulders. He then put his hand on Pikachu. "Ok. Now!!"

In an instant, they were on solid ground, just as the Airship exploded with a loud BOOM!!

Max was the first to say anything. "Pikachu is DEFINITELY not supposed to be able to Teleport!!"

Ash responded. "He didn't Teleport. It was just pure speed. We left the same way we came in. It just felt like Teleporting, because of how fast it happened. You see, we were just moving at about 300 Kilometers per second."

Everybody looked stunned at this remark. "That's impossible!" Misty stated. "No Pokemon can move at THAT speed!!"

Ash looked up at an angle. The Thunderstorm had dissipated almost completely. "I don't quite understand it myself, but it appears that from what I CAN tell, all Pokemon have potential that has never been tapped into. It could be thought of as hidden abilities, or powers that haven't been used in such a long time, that even the Pokemon have no recollection of their types' ability to use them... I guess when certain situations present themselves, there is a possibility that some of these untapped powers might awaken. I think this was the case today." he stated, almost as if he knew it to be true.

"I think I understand." Max replied, with a scientific look on his face. "In other words, Pikachu's desire to save everyone awakened a new level of power within him... That must also be what caused this transformation..."

As the group began to contemplate this turn of events, MewTwo suddenly became transfixed on the sky.

"We're about to have company." he stated. It was then that they saw the enormous figure of the Gias approaching.

A loud voice suddenly sounded from the Airship. "Attention civilians! A Pokemon experiment is about to take place here. For your safety, you must evacuate the area. Head through the valley to the North. It will lead you out of range."

Ash felt insulted by this announcement. "Everybody! I'm about to use Pikachu to enter that Airship. Anybody that wants to leave may do so. I won't blame you, or try to stop you!"

Misty stepped up and slapped Ash. "What is your problem?! You above ALL people should know that ALL of us feel the same way as you!! There is no need to shoo us off!!"

Max spoke up next. "We'd follow you to the ends of the Earth. You should know this by now!!"

"Yeah! Admit it. You need our help!" Gary stated with a grin.

Brock looked up. "Yes, but how are we going to get into THAT thing?"

MewTwo spoke up. "I can get us in. Our powers seem to have returned once we exited that Igloo."

"Thanks guys," Ash said as he looked up. "OK!! Let's get into that thing!!"

The group was immediately surrounded by MewTwo's aura once again. In no time at all, they were almost close enough to touch the Airship.

"Ok, Pikachu!" Ash shouted. "Let's see what you can do now."

At that, Pikachu surrounded himself in a golden aura. "Piiii..." he began, as a ball of thunder-based energy began to form in his right hand. "kaaaaa..." The ball was rapidly increasing in size; it was now almost as big as Pikachu. "CHUUUUUU!!!!!" Pikachu launched the ball, which hit the Airship's hull with a tremendous force. The explosion that resulted, created a hole big enough for a Charizard to enter. Pikachu had never been able to do much damage to Adamantium Armor, so in this, everybody was impressed.

As the group entered the Gias, they had no idea the challenges that awaited them. At the height of the moment, nobody noticed that the same light-pink Pokemon had followed them into the Airship.

    ________________INFILTRATE THE GIAS_______________

Jade knew that something wasn't right. The Gias was made of Adamantium Armor, preventing turbulence from affecting it. When the shockwave had hit, he immediately headed toward the source. It was a gut instinct that told him there were intruders on his Airship.

Ash and Brock looked around at their surroundings. They appeared to be in a Storage Room. The emergency systems had already kicked in, sealing the hole that Pikachu created. In essence, they were trapped inside.

"I think we should move to another room," Ash said, as he eyed the silent alarm that was tuned to the wall.

"What's going on?" May said. "I feel that we should head further toward the rear..."

"I got the same exact feeling just now..." Misty stated.

"In danger..." Ash thought for a second. "Of course!! The Pokemon that chose you!! That must be what you're sensing... In that case, we need to find the room that they're being held in."

Jirachi had been focusing up until now. "Asmodia is here... I feel him... We have to be extremely careful..."

The group slowly opened the door. The corridor seemed to be clear in the direction that they could see. Immediately, they darted for the nearest door, which led to a sleeping quarters. Inside, the group spotted some uniforms on the floor. There weren't enough for everybody though.

"Wait a second." Max said, with a grin. "I have an idea."

Two Team Dark Soldiers had entered the corridor and were going room-to-room. When they neared the sleeping quarters, three of their own people emerged, carrying May, Max, Gary, and Brock to the back in handcuffs.

"I see you caught the intruders." one of the two Soldiers said.

Ash responded from within one of the uniforms. "They put up a heck of a fight, but we got 'em. You can tell the Generals that all's clear. We're taking these scumbags to the brig!"

"But the brig is the other way!" The second Soldier said.

Tracie was quick to come back. "You see?! I told you guys that it was in the front! Thanks. We just transfered here from the Heimdall, and were used to the brig being in the back. We're still not 100 percent on where everything is... So..."

"I see." The Soldiers seemed to understand. "Well, the Laboratory is in the back on Sub-Deck 1, the Bridge is, naturally, in the front on Deck 3. The brig is straight down this corridor, and to the right at the fork. And the cafeteria..."

Tracie jumped in. "The cafeteria is by the War Room?"

"That's right!" the second Soldier said proudly. "Well, see you later." With that, the two soldiers headed toward the back.

"The Lab must be where Latios and Latias are being held," Brock said, once the Soldiers were out of sight.

Ash contemplated for a moment. "Guess it's time for a prison break..."

Jirachi and MewTwo had been hiding with Pikachu in the sleeping quarters, during this little event. It was all-too obvious that MewTwo was getting impatient.

"I think I'm going to have a little fun here..." MewTwo said, as he left the room.

"Pikaaa..." Pikachu sighed. MewTwo had grown to understand the bond that humans and Pokemon share, but he would never allow a human to give him orders.

In response to Esp and Umb: Are you serious?? Um... Ok... I'll just have to change their names... Thank you for pointing that out!! Alright everyone!! Until I find the evolved names, Treeko and Taillow are evolved!! Yeah, I don't follow the series quite as closely as I should... On top of THAT, now I hear that Togepi might leave the show! That would really ruin a good part that I have planned... I got it!!

Here's the deal!! This takes place in an alternate universe!! Ha!!! Treeko and Taillow never evolved in this universe, and Misty still has Togepi, Max has Silfayree as his first creature. We'll go that direction for now.

    ____________________CHAPTER 9_______________________
    ___________AN UNEXPECTED CONFRONTATION_____________

MewTwo, Jirachi, and the reluctant Pikachu, headed down the rear corridor. Though feeling gung-ho, MewTwo wasn't stupid. He made sure to keep out of sight whenever anybody was near. The other two didn't need to be told to do so, as they seemingly mimicked his every move.

As Jade headed down to the lab, he could have sworn that he heard laughing. He stopped to gauge the surroundings. The War Room was completely void of personnel. This in turn was irritating to see. "I'll have to reprimand the guards later on..." Jade muttered to himself. Despite this, he had a calm sensation within himself. As he made way for the end of the room, he heard something drop. He looked at the shelf that the sound had come from. "Apparently people don't know how to keep their hands off of tactical equipment," Jade said, as he replaced the tiny Airship model on the shelf. As this was happening, a giggling noise could be heard from within the room. Jade followed the sound to an open air duct. "Pranksters... That has to be what we're dealing with here..." Jade entered the air duct which was large enough for him to crawl in with plenty of room to spare. He pulled out a flashlight and began to scout the surrounding area. More giggling sounded in front of him, as if to taunt him.

MewTwo, Pikachu, and Jirachi had entered the War Room while Jade was in the duct. Noticing this, the three proceeded past the General, and into the Lab Area.

Misty was now beginning to get sick of her 'uniform', as the material would constantly rub against her skin. "How much further is it?" she whispered, as the group was now in the War Room. They had switched directions, just as the Soldiers were out of sight. Strangely enough, they had yet to run into any more of the Team Dark members. As the seven snuck through the room, Ash stopped.

"Mew... He's here..." was all that Ash had time to say, as a pink Pokemon flew out of the air duct.

"Mew!!" was all he said before Jade was out after him.

Jade gazed in delight. "I had ALWAYS heard that sighting Mew was a sign of good luck. But, I didn't know it was true..." Jade said, as he pulled out a gun. He had known immediately that something wasn't right when Mew went to the group, and it only took him an instant to figure out what was wrong. A grin came over his face. "Thank you Mew, for revealing the intruders to me."

Ash knew that something wasn't normal about this man, but he couldn't seem to put his finger on it. "Are you the leader of Team Dark??" The question had left Ash's lips before he knew that he had asked it.

"Very perceptive... Ash!!" Jade said to everybody's surprise. "Giovanni has told me much about you... He also made mention of a woman named Terry Ketchum..."

Ash was stunned. "M... Mother?? What has he done with her?!"

"Actually, your mother is still waiting in Pallet." Ash was relieved to hear this, but also anxious to hear why the head of Team Rocket knew his mother. "It's not so much what he did with her. It's what he did for her..."

Jade paused for a moment. Another grin came over his face. "According to your mother, your father had left Pallet to become a Pokemon Master, but never returned. Ask yourself why he hasn't returned... Why haven't you met the man responsible for your existence??"

Ash stared in awe. It was quite possible that his entire Pokemon Journey was inspired by stories of his father. He had always wanted to be the legend that his father was.

Jade finished with a statement that Ash would never forget as long as he lived. "Giovanni is your father."

Ash didn't want to believe it, but he felt that this man was telling the truth. "No... You're lying... I refuse to believe it... I WON'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!" Ash had screamed so loudly that the rest of the group had taken a step back.

"Ash..." was all that May could say.

    _____________THE TERROR OF ASMODIA_______________

MewTwo, Jirachi, and Pikachu looked upon the shattered spheres with surprise. They immediately knew that something was originally in these containers.

"This must have been where Team Dark was holding Latios and Latias..." Jirachi said, as he floated toward the shattered glass. "But... What happened here?"

MewTwo looked toward an open door and slowly approached it. "I think we'll get our answers here." he said. The three Pokemon each stepped through the door.

"I had just realized something." Jade said suddenly. It was at this time that his eyes seemed to give off a purple glow. "I believe my Silfayree is among you."

Max glared back after hearing of this. "Silfayree... Was yours?! You're Jade Ashcroft!! I remember!! You had lost your trainer's license because you tried to prevent the Orre League from taking place!! You're wanted on multiple counts of Disruption of Official Tournaments!!"

"They called it a crime..." Jade said, as he became more enraged with each word. "When I tried to prevent the Orre League from happening... But Ash should know full well what my motives were for that, right? After all, it was right after our memories came back! The Castle, the battle between originals and copies, not being able to do a single thing about it... What the hell did you expect me to do?! I couldn't continue on the path that I was set on!! It's all the League's fault... I hate them!!! Those bastards... They take innocent creatures... They force them to fight each other... For WHAT?! For mere glory?! For fun?! Let me ask you... Do you think the Pokemon are having fun?! ANSWER ME, DAMMIT!!!"

Ash finally looked up. "Some of what you say is true... There are many people that follow the routine that you describe... However, Pokemon Trainers are not as cruel as you make them out to be... The League has never 'forced' anybody to do anything... Trainers and Pokemon participate in battles because they choose to, not because that is what people think they are here for..."

Max was quick to jump in. "Ash is right. None of us force our Pokemon to battle, or travel with us. Our Pokemon choose to... And it's that bond of trust that shapes all humans and Pokemon... You used to feel that way as well..."

Jade glared at Max. "Shut up!! I don't care what you think!! As far as this place goes, you can have it!!! But, I will NOT be swayed by simple words!!!" With that, Jade ran toward the main corridor of the Gias.

The three Pokemon had entered a large room that appeared to be a holding cell of some sort. MewTwo stopped dead in his tracks. It took Jirachi and Pikachu no time to see that all of the color had left his face.

"Asmodia..." was all that MewTwo could manage to utter. On the side opposite of the door, floated a muscular creature with bat-like wings that were folded around the creature, like a cloak. Two claws hooked the wings together at the collarbone area. Blue skin covered the creature's body, and white fangs could be seen protruding from its mouth. Its blood-red eyes looked on with an intense hatred. Without warning, one of the wings opened.

It was then that Jirachi broke the silence. "Articuno!!!" Asmodia had the blood-covered Pokemon by the neck, as it seemed completely limp. As Jirachi finished talking, Asmodia grinned and tossed Articuno aside like a rag doll. Its eyes were slightly open, but it didn't seem to be moving at all.

Pikachu began dashing toward the unconscious Pokemon. In an instant, Asmodia was in front of him. He lashed out a hand and grabbed Pikachu by the scruff of the neck, lifting him up. Pikachu began to electrify himself, but the electricity seemed to have no effect on the Pokemon.

"So this is the Pokemon that I've heard SO much about... Where's your 'Trainer' NOW, hmm??" Asmodia proceeded to slam Pikachu into the floor with a loud crash. "Chuuuu..." was all that the little mouse could say, before he fell silent.

Jirachi looked at Asmodia's handiwork and began to fill with rage. "How could you?! How could you hurt so many?!"

Asmodia answered back. "The answer is simple. It is my purpose. I am a Pokemon!!!"

Ash, Misty, Brock, Gary, Tracie, Max, and May headed into the Lab. As they went through the door to the back, Ash stopped. "P...Pikachu..."

The others had to get around Ash before they could see what had happened. Pikachu laid in the center of the room. Articuno, Latios, and Latias were lying in the corner, as Asmodia looked toward the seven. "I now have enough power..." was all he said, as he tore through the back wall. Even MewTwo didn't dare go after him at this point...

Ash scooped up Pikachu, and looked him over.

Misty then jumped in. "We need to get these Pokemon to a Center."

Ash then ran out of the Lab. As he got to the front of the Main Corridor, he caught a glimpse of several shuttles launching from the Gias. "There's not much time." Ash said as he headed to the Bridge.

Jade had been waiting for the rest of the soldiers to evacuate the Airship. They had gathered in the front when Asmodia had gone berserk. Unfortunately, Jade was the last one to find out about this... "Are my methods really that terrible?..." he muttered to himself.

Ash stormed into the Bridge. "JADE!!"

Jade turned around. "What are you doing here?!"

"If you truly want to help Pokemon, then start by helping Pikachu!!" Ash said, as he stepped toward Jade.

Jade had never seen a Pikachu like the one Ash held. "An albino... Those are almost unheard of in Pikachu species'." Jade took a step toward Ash. "I'll take you as far as Saffron. You're on your own after that..."

With that, Jade turned around and plotted the course. As the Gias headed toward Saffron City, Asmodia looked on from a distance.

"That's right... Do my work for me..." he said as he began to tail the Gias.

    ________________THE THUNDER CREST_________________

Saffron City was indeed beautiful at night, with its glowing lights and flashing signs, but Zapdos' intervention had given it almost a mystical feeling beyond what the constant influence of Psychic Pokemon could muster. As always, the streets were bustling with people, and a curfew was unheard of.

However, the edge of the City would see the biggest crowd this night. As the Gias landed, people gathered fron every district to see the sight. They had heard that Team Dark was searching for the Legendary Pokemon, and knew right away that the Gias was here for Zapdos.

As Jade and Ash exited the Airship, the citizens looked on in disgust. Though Ash had gotten changed back into his black leather outfit, the citizens still assumed that he was a member of Team Dark.

Misty came out next, looking like a lost Princess in the night, with her long red hair blowing in the wind.

May was next out, with her light brown hair tied into a ponytail. She had her familiar Trainer's Vest on, as she and Max were the only ones who still fought in the Leagues.

Brock was out next. He still wore the familiar Pewter Gym uniform, which struck the crowd as odd.

Tracie was next out. Though, gentle looking, the man was very well-built. His eyes scanned the crowd as he stepped off of the Exit Ramp.

Gary was next out. Believe it or not, he had changed the least in the past five years. He was still taller than Ash, by an inch. He had also abandoned the caped look for a vest that made him look like old-school Ash without a cap.

Max came out last. While he still had glasses, he was much taller. In fact, he was almost as tall as Ash. He still prefered his typical Trainer's outfit, just as May prefered her's.

As the group stepped toward the crowd, everybody took a step back. "Don't let them near you! They can't be trusted!!"

Ash finally figured out what the fuss was about. "No! Wait!! We're not with Team Dark!!" he said.

"More lies! Someone get Officer Jenny!! We have the leader of Team Dark here with his stooges!!" another citizen bellowed.

As the crowd seemed to box the group in, Officer Jenny arrived with a large group of League Officers. "You are all under arrest for crimes against the League!!" she said as she whipped out her handcuffs in a Lupin-esque fashion.

Ash was quick to retort. "Can this bickering wait?! We have injured Pokemon here!!"

Officer Jenny looked insulted from the remark. "I don't know where you're from, but here, we respect the Officers. Ok! Take these scumbags away!"

Brock looked stunned at the remark. "Wait a minute! Didn't you hear what Ash said?! We have Pokemon here that need medical attention!! Their needs should come first!!"

The blue-haired officer retorted. "That's for a Judge to decide, not you!"

The crowd then took another step back as Mew, MewTwo, and Jirachi came out. "It's MewTwo!!" one man shouted.

"Isn't he the experimental Pokemon that escaped from Cinnibar Island 10 years ago?" one of the women stated.

MewTwo looked at the crowd. "And you call yourselves Pokemon Trainers..." he said as he eyed the people, many of whom incuded Trainers. "I have radioed in to the Elites of Kanto. They should be arriving in moments. Let's see what THEY have to say about Officer Jenny's remarks... Not to mention, the League Officials taking matters into their own hands here..."

Jirachi added, "I'm sure they will be VERY interested to hear that you refused to help Pokemon, just because you suspected these people to be members of Team Dark... especially when you have no evidence to back it up..."

It was at that time the Super Nova arrived on the scene. Asmodia looked on from a distance, as Ash and the rest of the group carried Pikachu, Latios, Latias, and Articuno into the nearest Pokemon Center.

Blame could be put on people later. Right now, the priority was to help the Pokemon...

Nurse Joy's jaw dropped, as Articuno, Latios, Latias, and a white Pikachu were wheeled in on stretchers. She nearly fainted at the sight of MewTwo, Jirachi, and Mew. "Um... What is the... emergency??..."

Ash spoke up first. "These Pokemon were all attacked by an evil Pokemon and need medical attention."

Misty added, "I'm a Nurse-in-Training. If you need help, there is much that I can do!"

Joy nodded, as both her and Misty entered the ICU with the four Pokemon. The rest of the group watched as the familiar Needle symbol turned on. Outside of the ICU, May, Ash, Gary, Tracie, and Max sat with MewTwo, Jirachi, and Mew on Ash's lap.

A few people stared at the group of humans and Pokemon. "I've never SEEN Mew before." one man whispered to his wife. "How did these people find him??"

MewTwo responded. "Events way beyond your comprehension are beginning to unfold. However, your children will look at these events as a pivotal moment in the history of the world."

It was at this time that Ash noticed someone missing from the group. "Hey. Did Brock come in with us??" Ash asked, as everybody began to look around.

May spoke up. "The last time I saw him was in the crowd. I KNOW he followed us to the Center."

Ash ran outside. The city had calmed significantly, as Elite League Officers were patrolling the streets. Ash ran up to the nearest one.

"Did you see a guy with brown spiked hair and a goatee around here?" Ash began. "He is slightly taller than me."

The man was in his 20s and had refined features and short red hair. "Oh, that Brock individual. He ran to Division A." The man pointed in the direction of an alley to the north. "It's up there. He seemed to have something on his mind..."

"Thanks," Ash said, as he bolted toward the alley. The man that he had talked to looked on with an interest. On his right hand was a tatoo of a Thunderbolt. As he stared, he began to change shape.

"Just stay there... Stay out of the way..." he said, as his skin was beginning to turn blue. He then held his right hand up to eye level. "Now, that Zapdos is mine, I can go after Moltres..." Asmodia said with a grin. He then began to rise into the air, and with a burst of sudden speed, was out of sight in less than a second.

On the ground, the mighty Thunder Bird, Zapdos' head could be seen hanging out of the window of a Pokemon Ambulence, as it headed for the Center.

    _________________PRESSED FOR TIME____________________

Ash had found the alley that Brock had supposedly run into. "That's strange..." Ash said, as he looked around. "Brock doesn't seem to be here... In fact, there isn't a single person in this Alley..."

It was at that time Ash noticed strange glow in the wall at the end. "Wait... This is..." Ash neared the glowing section of the wall. "....Ok... What Pokemon do I know of that can create illusions?... Let's see..."

As Ash contemplated who might be responsible for the wall being in the condition that it was in, he heard a sound. "Wha..." As he turned, he was able to make the image out clear as day. It was May.

"What are you doing here?! Don't you realize that Pikachu is injured?! Why are you..." She began to say.

"Quiet!!" Ash snapped back. "Something's not right here... This wall has a strange glow to it... There are only a handful of Pokemon with the ability to create illusions..."

May thought for a second. "Do you think it's one of the ones we need to find?"

Ash looked up. "You might be right... But only Celebi can create these types of illusions... Did he follow Brock here, or is he guiding us to him??"

May finally spoke up. "Why don't we find out?" As she finished, she stepped through the illusion.

"Wait!!..." Ash was going to warn her, but it was too late, as she had already disappeared into the wall. "I swear, she'll end up being the death of me..." With that, he followed May's lead.

"Whoa!" was all that Ash could say. He was sitting in the middle of a beautiful pond, surrounded by a shore and trees on all sides. As he got up, he looked around. "That must have been some kind of portal... But to where??" he said, as he proceeded to the shoreline, where May was waiting.

"What took you?" was the question that May greeted Ash with. He couldn't help but gaze back at her, as they were both soaked.

"Um... I guess I had to think..." was all Ash could mutter.

"YOU, think?" May said, teasingly. "What have you done with the real Ash?!" As she said this, Ash began to get a goofy look on his face. Finally, the two both broke out and started laughing.

As the two settled down, some rustling noises could be heard from the bushes directly in front of them.

"Hey!" came Brock's familiar voice. As he came out, he was accompanied by a small light-green creature with bug-like wings that looked like Silfayree's wings.

    "Bi!" was all it said.

"Oh, how CUTE!" May said out of the blue. "What is it?"

Brock preempted Ash in identifying their new friend. "This would be Celebi. He sensed the auras of injured Pokemon and led me to his home, here in Johto." May looked in shock.

"Y...You mean we've been teleported all the way to... JOHTO?!" May asked with surprise. "That's halfway across the world!!"

"Bi! Bi!" Celebi murmered, as Brock nodded.

"We need to get back to Saffron City, as soon as possible." Brock started. "Celebi says that Asmodia is there."

Ash nodded in agreement. "I know. I had a run-in with him." Ash was not very bright, but thanks to a certain person he met in the Orre region, he became gifted with the ability to sense power levels to a degree. Asmodia was filled with so much evil power, that he didn't even have to concentrate to feel it. "There isn't much time..."

May jumped in. "Wait a minute. How can we get back?! It's not like we'll be able to walk across the world!"

Brock was quick to come back. "I knew that one of you would ask that. Celebi? Do your thing!"

"Bi! Bi!" Celebi acknowledged, as he flew out over the pond. Once there, he began flying in circles around the spot that Ash and May landed. In no time, a portal had opened up. This time, the whole group could see it without question.

"Shall we?" Brock offered, as he began to wade out toward the portal.

Max was beginning to become impatient. It had been over an hour since they were told to wait outside of the ICU, which now included Zapdos. The only thing that comforted anybody was the fact that this Center was the biggest one in Kanto, and the ICU was large enough to house hundreds of injured Pokemon at a time.

MewTwo had become so bored that he was now paging through the various magazines stacked on the table next to him. "Anybody want last month's issue of Pokemon Today?" he asked. "It has a fascinating article on the mating habits of the Magikarp!" Nobody seemed interested, so he put it down.

Nurse Joy finally came out. "I don't understand it... Pikachu seems to be recovering perfectly, but the others aren't improving at all... We've tried Potions, Revives, Remedies, but none seem to be helping... The wounds have been mended, and there are no more internal injuries, but it's as if they are still sick with something..." The Nurse sighed, then added, "I don't know if we'll be able to help them..."

It was the prognosis that everybody had feared. The missing crests were undoubtedly the reason that Articuno and the others weren't improving. No amount of technology could heal the damage that this had caused them.

It was then that a sound could be heard from outside. "Bi!" Celebi rushed in and headed directly into the ICU.

"What the heck is that Pokemon doing?!" Nurse Joy said.

A voice could be heard from the ICU room. "Um, Joy? Nurse Jooooy!! You'd better get back in here!!"

"What's wrong?" she asked, fearing the worst.

"Um... You're never going to believe this!!" was all that the voice said. Nurse Joy immediately rushed back into the ICU.

    ____________________CHAPTER 13____________________
_________THE SECRET OF THE LEGENDARY POKEMON______

As Nurse Joy entered the ICU, she was able to clearly see Celebi flying in a circle above the injured Pokemon. "Is that Celebi???" she asked. It was strange enough that Zapdos had suddenly appeared, but to have Celebi here now? Something was definitely not right... "What is it doing??" she finally asked.

Misty had been tending to Pikachu while this was taking place. It was at this time that she seemed to stop what she was doing. "Don't worry, Nurse Joy." she said with a smile. "Everything will be alright now..."

"What do you mean?" Joy asked back. "Isn't this interfering with our work??"

"No..." Misty began. She eyed Celebi. "Look closer." As she said that, Nurse Joy looked at the circling Pokemon.

Nurse Joy's eyes widened. "Is that... Recover??" she asked.

Misty chuckled. "Actually, it's quite different from the conventional Recover ability of Psychic Pokemon." she said. "This type can heal ANY injury on the Pokemon. You see, when Asmodia had stolen the Crests from these Pokemon, they became very ill, and might have died. I guess Celebi sensed that and came here to prevent that."

"That's not the only thing that the Crests do." came a voice from the door of the ICU. It was Jirachi. "The Crests are also seals. They could be thought of as Limiters that have been placed on the Legendary Pokemon. They actually suppress the vast majority of the Legendary Pokemons' power. You see, a nice contingency plan was set into motion after Asmodia was awakened for the first time. The Crests, or Seals that once existed on these Pokemon were actually also made to suppress their vast powers, which is the reason that they aren't as strong as they once were. When the Seals are removed, the vast power that they once knew flows back into them, as a failsafe to counteract the massive power that Asmodia gets from posessing each Crest. Unfortunately, the power was undoubtedly too much for the Legendary Pokemon to handle alone, so Celebi was gifted with the ability to increase the overall Power Level of any Pokemon that he sees fit. In this way, the Legendary Pokemon will now be able to handle the force of the increased power..."

Nurse Joy looked in shock as Jirachi explained the situation to her.

Jirachi looked back into the waiting room. Ash, May, and Brock had returned from their little excursion. "However..." Jirachi began as he looked back at Pikachu. "Some Pokemon are exceptions to this rule..."

Celebi flew to Jirachi. "Bi! Bi!" he said happily.

"Ahh!" Jirachi looked at Nurse Joy. "I believe you can handle it from here. The Pokemon should be fine after a good rest."

With that, Jirachi and Celebi returned to the waiting room.

Ash looked at Celebi, who sat next to Brock. The little Pokemon seemed worn out. He then began petting Mew, who had curled up on his lap. "How wild..." was all that he could think of saying.

Brock looked at Ash. "Are you alright?" he asked.

"Yeah... It's just so hard to believe that we've encountered this many Legendary Pokemon in such a short time. It's mind-boggling..." he said, as he eyed everybody.

Brock's look turned serious. "Ok. What's wrong??" he asked, now concerned.

Ash began shivering. "I don't know... I feel that something terrible is getting ready to happen..." he said in an ominous tone.

A familiar Purple-Robed individual looked out his Castle window. The ocean that surrounded the fortress continued to produce waves that crashed violently into the rocks at the base of the Dock Area. It was then that Asmodia could be seen heading toward the Castle. As he got closer, a grin could be seen over his face.

"Lord Zarnon." he said, as thunder crashed in the distance. "We are halfway to our goal."

Zarnon stared back in awe. "Ahh! Your power has increased significantly. I believe it is time..." As he finished, Asmodia landed and nodded in agreement.

With that, they both proceeded out of the room and through a series of hallways, until they came to a large laboratory.

"It IS ironic." Zarnon started. As he spoke, footage of a familiar lab experiment could be seen on one of the monitors. "MewTwo had ALL that he needed to accomplish the mission that I gave him, and yet he was swayed by one little kid... One little kid committing suicide... Ehee hee hee hee hee!!!!! How pathetic..."

Asmodia motioned to an open trap door. "Shall we?" he said.

"Yes, indeed!! Hee hee hee hee hee!!!!" Zarnon replied.

The declining stairs led to a large chamber that had some sort of strange pentagram symbol in the center.

In the back, Entei and Suicune were chained to the wall.

Zarnon looked at the two Legendary Pokemon with glee. "It took forever to find them..." he said. He then looked at Asmodia. "While I work on the Summoning, you can do what it is that you do with their Crests."

Entei looked at Asmodia, who was slowly approaching the two. "You'll never get away with this!! Don't you realize that the others will come for us?!"

Asmodia leaned toward Entei. "That's what we hope for, fool!" he said, as he grabbed Entei's chest. "Just hold still..." With that, Asmodia's hand lit up, and Entei screamed out in pain. "Almost done..." Asmodia said, as he held up his arm, which now included the Illusion Crest.

    He then approached Suicune.

"Leave her alone..." Entei had mustered up enough strength to speak, despite the pain. However, it was to no avail. Asmodia grabbed her forehead, as she cried out in pain. In no time, it was over.

Zarnon stared at the two Pokemon with amazement. "They must be really strong to stay conscious through that ordeal... Is it their will... Or, is it something else?..."

Asmodia proceeded to the Pentagram. "I am prepared." he said, and entered the sigil.

Zarnon turned his focus to the symbol on the ground. He was so intent that he didn't notice a shadowy figure cut the two Pokemon down, and leave the room with them.

Nurse Joy and Misty finally came out of the ICU. Latios, Latias, Articuno, and Zapdos followed in single-file. "Ash, right?"

    Ash nodded. "Yes. What's wrong?"

Nurse Joy replied. "These four are ready to go, but your Pikachu needs a little more time before he's ready. You may visit him, though." she said with a smile.

Ash turned to the group. "I want you to follow Jirachi to the next destination." he said. The group already knew what that meant. "I'm sorry, but I cannot leave Pikachu. I will catch up when he's fully recovered, you have my word."

He turned to Mew. "Mew. I want you to go with them." he said.

Mew looked perplexed. "Mew??" he said.

Ash smiled and replied. "They are going to need you in the coming battles. Don't worry. I assure you, I'll be there as soon as Pikachu is healthy. Please. Go with them."

Mew reluctantly cooperated. Ash looked out the window as Brock, Gary, Misty, May, Tracie, and Max walked off. The Gias had left previously, so the group would have to go on foot to their next destination.

Ash looked back at the ICU. Pikachu would never leave Ash, and he wasn't about to leave Pikachu. "I'm not leaving without you, Pikachu..." he stated as he entered the ICU. "We'll beat this thing together..."

What Ash didn't know, is that while this was happening, his right pocket had begun giving off a faint glow.

    _____________THE TRIUMPHERANT RETURNS_____________

Zarnon kneeled as Asmodia stepped onto the pentagram. "Dominus etke utta LI. One who is Three... Three who are One... Powers Supreme... Planets Align... Send forth your Avatars... Let the Prophecy be fulfilled!!!" As Zarnon chanted, a Thunderstorm was brewing outside.

Asmodia winced as the symbol on the floor began to glow. Zarnon then rose to his feet and pulled out a ritualistic-looking dagger. "Blood of the Ancients..." he began as he slit his right wrist. Blood began dripping onto the symbol. "Become the Flesh of the Chosen... Trinity of Reckoning... I submit my essence unto thee!!! Be reborn as the Great Incarnations!!!"

With that, Zarnon stepped back, and seemed to concentrate slightly. In no time, the cut on his wrist had closed. "Powers of the Ancients... Revive those the Gods feared!!!" With the end of the chant, a Thunderbolt hit the Pentagram at the spot Asmodia was standing on. He seemed unfazed by the electricity.

At this time, Asmodia proceeded to leave the Pentagram. He turned and kneeled.

Three figures were now visible. They each appeared to be precisely six feet tall. The one on the left had a Green Robe, and long blond hair. She wore a tiara upon her brow, as did the other two.

The one on the right wore a Red Robe and had long white hair. She held a spear of some sort.

The middle one wore a White Robe and had long red hair. In addition to the tiara, she had jewel encrusted minature wings that seemed to sprout behind her ears.

The middle one spoke first in an echoing voice. "I am Tiamat, Goddess of Dragon Pokemon. Are you the ones that awakened us??"

Zarnon was quich to answer. "Yes, yes. I am Zarnon, as you, no doubt, have guessed." He then motioned to Asmodia. "This is our creation, Asmodia."

Asmodia nodded respectfully. "It is an honor to finally meet you."

The Red Robed one on the right was next to speak. "I am Valkyrie, Goddess of Ghost Pokemon. I sense that the time for the Final War is drawing near."

Zarnon nodded. "That is the reason that we needed to summon you. Asmodia needs only two more seals to regain his true form."

The Green Robed one finally spoke. "Fear not. I, Tyr, Goddess of Psychic Pokemon have foreseen these events. The two that you seek are on their way here right now. Unfortunately, it seems that their time has run out..."

As the five conversed, Moltres and Lugia could be seen heading toward the Castle. However, a third figure was with them.

Asmodia was the first to break the silence. "I believe our guests are coming as we speak. I will greet them. Zarnon can explain the rest to you while I take care of business."

With that, he left the room and headed back up to the King's Chamber. From here, he took a set of stairs in the corner, which led up to the roof. "Ok... Let's see what you two can do..." he said as he took off in the direction of the Pokemon.

Lugia and Moltres had already taken a defensive formation when Asmodia arrived. The three hovered above the Ocean, as they stared each other down. It was then that Asmodia noticed the third figure that was with them.

"Deoxys!!" he shouted. "So, YOU'RE the one... What does the great Deoxys need with the Legendary Pokemon?!"

Deoxys replied. "I will NOT devulge that information to the likes of you. Only know that whatever happens in this fight is pre-ordained and I shall NOT interfere. I am simply here to make sure that the prophecy is completely fulfilled. So, do what you must..."

With that, Asmodia rushed toward Moltres. Before the Legendary Pokemon could react, Asmodia's hand was already around his neck. Lugia, seeing this, charged into Asmodia, knocking him loose.

Moltres immediately launched a Fire Blast. Asmodia swatted the attack, like a fly.

Lugia scowled at Asmodia. "You are NOT meant to wield our powers!! Leave us, before..."

Asmodia replied. "Shut up, you stupid bird!" As he finished, he launched a beam that resembled a blue Psy-Beam attack. Lugia attempted to dodge it, but it grazed his wing. Asmodia only grinned at this.

"Now..." he said, as he rushed to Moltres. Once again, he grabbed the Pokemon's neck. This time, Lugia was not in time to stop Asmodia. He held up his arm, which now had the Flame Crest on it, as Moltres plummeted into the Ocean.

As a last resort, Lugia launched his Ice Breath at Asmodia. It seemed to work, as Asmodia began to slow down.

Asmodia grinned. "Gotcha!" he said as he charged right through the attack. With the proximity, Asmodia easily clutched onto Lugia's head. In a mere moment, he had the Ocean Crest.

As Lugia fell, Deoxys grabbed him. He then dove into the water and pulled out the unconscious Moltres, who was miraculously still alive. With that, he left with the two Pokemon.

Asmodia didn't seem to care. He had all of the crests... He had the Ultimate Power... In the midst of this, his form began to change.

"I feel it!" Asmodia stated. "My powers are returning!! Ha ha ha!! Yes!! I feel the Power within me... I am, once again, the most powerful Pokemon in the world!!!"

The storm was at its peak, but this time, a beam of energy hit Asmodia. His blue skin had turned to a purple tint, as his muscular body slimmed to a degree. His bat-like wings now had a metallic glow to them, and horns protruded from his forehead. At the end of the transformation, it was clear to see, he was indeed hundreds of times stronger than he was previously...

"Now..." he bagan. "It is completed..."

With that, he flew back to the castle.
