Neon Genesis Evangelion

yeah, I do.

and so do you, apparently.

How bout we pose a better question like "What did you think of Evangelion?"

also, the new movies are really pretty

Alright, sorry, just didn't know if people have watched this on here or not; I assumed that the population on this forum is a lot younger than I thought. So what do you guys think of End of Evangelion?

End of Evangelion? it was a total drug trip with depression and insanity. Though I didn't mind the episodes of the show.(I have yet to see the new movies)

I found the second half of EoE to be pretty awesome in a weird sense; I think the music during certain parts makes the film that much better (such as the scene where humanity is reverted and the song playing is a pop song).

They only made the movie to keep the fans (who were baying for blood after episodes 25 and 26) quiet.

So it was just a desperate effort to make peace with the die-hard fans who were displeased at how the original series turned out. If the hardcore maniacs are gone, then who's going to buy their merchandise? How are they going to earn money?

So yeah.

HMM THAT SEEMS KINDA FAMILIAR I THINK I REMEMBER SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENING RECENTLY
SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED LAST SUMMER

nope it's all a blank :(

(i still liked the movie though)

I didn't mind the tv episodes of 25-26, though I found the whole "Shinji's mind" thing a bit tedious. It would've been nice to see the self-speculation of other characters as well. I think EoE and the TV ending complement each other. Also, Rebuild 1.11 is amazing.

Yeah, the Rebuilds are awesome. I hope that Shinji is cooler this time and
Spoiler:
:(

I never saw the entire Rebuild, still have to do that.. I looove the original Eva, though.

It took me quiiite a while to give a try, since I wasn't into it at all until 2003 or 2004, and I regret not watching it before that. I totally loved that series once I started watching it, though, and I'm also big on the manga. My only beef with that series was Shinji's overall personality, but I guess he was supposed to annoy people to a certain extent. It's also safe to say that most of the people who watched that series cared about Asuka, Rei, and the fighting more than any of the male cast.

As for Rebuild, I loved what I saw it, and the animation was so beautiful... ;; I remember freaking out when the trailers for it started floating around online.

Epic stuff, epic stuff.

The Rebuild movies are amazing. Normally I don't like when they make movies which are just the TV show repackaged, but for this I think it was needed. Rebuild definitely improved on the characters of the show, which was always the weakest part as I recall, by giving you more reason to actually care about them.

I like Evangelion. It has a deep and intriguing plot that does an excellent job in depicting various psychological issues. It also contains great action and drama.

Shinji was intended to be a flawed human being, so it makes sense that he would irritate you. He got on my nerves a couple of times (especially when he masturbated to Asuka while she was naked and comatose in End of Evangelion). However, considering I found his psyche interesting, I could not bring myself to dislike him.

The characters the weakest part of the show? Really? They're pretty much what made the series what it is today, an iconic one. It's through them that we were able to see the most important aspect of the series, which is the whole defect that can be the human mind.

I love the series and it's without a doubt my favorite anime. I love that Gainax decided to bring it into this generation with the Rebuild. I've still only watched the first one, but I'm patiently waiting for the rest of the movies to be released/translated.

Lol, I kind of marathoned episodes 9-26, plus all the extra OVA/movie stuff over like 2-3 days last week. It was pretty awesome. I feel a bit bad for being so thankful that fans were so up in arms way back when to get End of Eva made. I was really disappointed with the end of the TV series (since the psychological aspect of it wasn't what I found at all interesting) so it was really nice to have sort of an alternate backup ending to watch right after. @_@;;

And the new movies they're making are gorgeous. I've only seen the first one so far but I can't wait to see the second when I can get my hands on it.
