    CORO CORO has also revealed that a NEW series that follows on pokemon advanced generation called POKEMON DIAMOND & PEARL will air on TV tokyo starting this autumn (probabl onthe 28th september). This series will feature the female trainer from Diamond & Pearl. it is currently unknown if any of the current character returns

    Well, as interesting as that sounds...I don't know if the information you have is entirely set in stone, heh. Which website did you get it from?

    I actually dug up something else that was posted this morning from GameSpot.com:

    2006 will be a good year for fans of Nintendo's Pokemon series. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl will be released simultaneously for the Nintendo DS next year in Japan, reports the latest issue of Comic Korokoro. A third game, named Pokemon Ranger, is also slated for release in 2006, although no specific details--including its platform--have been disclosed yet. Pokemon Ranger will have connections to next year's Pokemon movie, as well as the TV anime series.

    It didn't really disclose any information that the original characters would be completely removed from the series. Personally, I don't think they'd take away Ash because it's been his journey since the beginning. So...we'll have to wait and see, I guess! ^_^
     
    If Ash doesn't leave, then May and Max might end up leaving, with the new girl in D/P taking their place as a promotion for Diamond and Pearl.
     
    Erm, yeah, what website did you get that from? I mean, otherwise whose to say it's even worth reading? ^^;

    I can't imagine them ending Ash's journey with the Battle Frontier. That's just lame. I can see them adding to the group and dropping someone (prolly Brock XD). I don't think May would leave after the major screentime she and Harley have been taking up. She's too popular, and they haven't worn out her welcome yet. As for Max... he's up in the air as far as I'm concerned.

    Sayuri, I think that your piece is probably referring to the few episodes in the next season that feature the ranger girl. And of course the movie has that ranger dude in it.

    EDIT: Hey! He got it from Serebii! I just saw it on their homepage. So, then this is somewhat confirmed.

    A few Japanese boards have posted that around as well, it's real. From a magazine scan, small, but it's real.

    Can't really be sure if they'll get rid of Satoshi and crew of not. Haruka I know is one of the most popular characters with Japanese kids right now, so it might hurt the show if they got rid of her or anyone else. I wouldn't mind the change, though it would be weird taking a shounen and adding a girl as the main character.
     
    You hit the nail right on the head there Blue if May left then it would hurt alot of her loyal followers although they should get rid of Max since he isnt a trainer and bring back Misty :)
     
    I say they should do a 3 year timeskip. Imagine all the possibilities: Brock and Kucy living together, Brock tkaing over pewter gym, Ash has become an idolized pokey master, May winning some grand festivals and getting something with drew, Max... uhm yeah aand finally Jessie, James, and Meowth/ walking talking persian leaving team rocket good way for a fresh start.
     
    I'm thinking this Diamon/Pearl new anime series is going to be a side series, like Chronicles. If they got rid of the main characters, the show would die and they'd get flamed good.

    My other theory is that Brock will go and Diamond/Pearl girl will join, and for once, we'll actually have more than one girl.

    Just my thoughts.

    Other that, come on... Ash HAS to travel through Shinou! HAS to! *shot* (by Ash-haters)

    Still, I'm happy to hear that another Pokemon anime is in the works. ^^; That means that Pokemon will last longer then 2009... Which was originally when most people thought it would end.
     
    Yeah, this has to be a Chronicles-type deal...They won't throw Ash out this late (but then again, some said that about the english VAs, and...).

    Everyone is in love with her now. Hopefully the series will be good. Avdance will be ending soon then.
     
    The Battle Frounter being the Final Frounter for Ash? Nah!!!! No way. He still good and Pikachu is still cute.

    I can see it as a side journey but then the land of D/P is the best guess to where Ash and crew may head out for after Battle Frounter. Maybe Pearl, if that her name, will meet up with Ash and Friends. I so hope because she has some style!!!

    I do like the idea of time passing but they won't do that.

    We just have to wait and see.

    I think Brock is gonna go. Him constantly hitting on almost every single female in the show got really old by the end of the first season. May will probably stay, so will Max (He might be old enough to be a Pokemon trainer by the end of BF). and Ash'll of course stay(big du-uh).
     
    Have they hit the last Frontier Brain yet in Japan? ...If not, then perhaps Shinou is where it will end up being hidden...
     
    Eeewwww... If they're gonna change our current characters away, I think I'd stop watching the series. I only wanna watch one with our previous heroes... be it Ash, Misty, Brock, May, Max.. and of course, not forgetting Pikachu.
    With them gone, Pokemon is meaningless for me ><;;
     
    Well if you guys look on Serebii then it will says that Pearl will be running with the old cast or that what I got. It be running along with the current story. This is unconfrim but still it looks like the chance is high that Ash and crew will be staying.

    As in who will be gone? I have no idea. I say Max because he may leave to start his journey so in makes more sense. If he going to get his first pokemon then he be wanting to go on his journey by himself to be the greastest like Ash and his dad. Just makes more sense.

    I don't see Brock leaving because he more of the mother type and Pearl can't replace him because she looks like the fashion type. Also I will cry if Brock leaves because I love his girl moments!!!
     
    Finally, got someone to read it. The poster basically says that Pokemon Diamond and Pearl will replace Advanced Generation in the fall and will run alongside the main Pokemon show. So that means that alongside Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, we'll be getting another anime featuring Satoshi and everyone else as well.

    So no, the old cast won't be leaving and we'll have two series running at the same time. Though since it says D/P will replace AG, I assume that it means D/P is going to get AG's old time slot.
     
    Two series? Hmm... no offense to the Pokemon anime, but... I hope this one has a deeper storyline than the one w/Ash and co. I for one like the idea of a female main character. *is a female* ^^; Pokemon needs more female representation!

    However... won't it be kinda weird seeing both Ash and Hikari (new girl's name from poster) going around the same region, doing the same gym battles?? I wonder if they plan on making it a short series that has one season, or if it is here to stay like the regular pokemon anime?
