    Check the news page.
My website Pok?specialTK is planning on a change of layout soon. The co-webmaster (Leo) and I have made 2 test pages of the new layouts. We need to decide which we should use and made a poll about it. Please help us out by voting for your favourite. Thank you =)
(The reason why we are switching to frames is that it will help us to save time on updating content. We have too much potential for new content and that's why we want to get them up as quick as possible.)
    Any other comments btw?

Why not just move to a server or host that supports SSI and/or PHP? Wouldn't that be a lot easier? There are tons of free hosts out there that support them. Also, no offense, but you really need to choose a better Poke Community button. The one with Pikachu with a booger bubble coming out of his nose looks like it was made in MS Paint in 5 minutes. I'm bad at buttons, but even I could do a better job than that. I'm sure you could too. I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. Anyway, check out the lists of free hosts out there because frames is not a good choice. They do not make life easier. You have to worry about targetting and all sorts of other confusing stuff. PHP just requires one line and will save you a lot of time. Check out the PHP tutorials on my site if you need some tips. Hope that helped!

I will (check out those PHP tutorials) n_n
btw the website that the site's hosted on (Massinfluence.net) does support PHP and SSI, and it's one of the best I've seen for free hosting.
I'm still sticking to frames for the moment since my website doesn't need to look professional...it's an information and fan website. The site will have a non-frames version though. (We'll probably change it at around the 15000th hit)
I preferred Mewheart's PC button, but it was too big. What do you recommend?

Actually I prefer table based layout, but since you decided to go with frame I guess here my comments on thw two layout:

The first layout has the better colour IMO, but in term of design the second layout is better. Yellow, Red and Blue don't seem to go well together. Maybe for the second layout you might want to retain the old wallpaper for the center frame. Resize the old banner and put it in the center frame.

I tried to hybridise my layout structure with Leo's colour scheme, but it didn't turn out as well as it did on his. I guess we need to experiment around more =P

btw I did two more with different colour combinations:

The second layout color's not bad. I don't know, maybe change the color of the bars (Others, FAQ) to Silver.

How in heck is frames easier? PHP is more easy, You just edit one page.... similar to frames but with PHP you dont have to edit evreypage to change layout, since the content is pure text, font codes and stuff is on the layout itself whichh would be index.php

does anyone know a php/mysql host

It's something new to me and I dunno how to use it yet.
btw the layouts we both made are meant to fit on 800X600 screens and the fonts for IE explorer windows should be medium sized.

you know if you want i can make a layout for you provided it isnt some super complicated thing and you make graphics, i can take a whack at it...

does anyone know a php/mysql host
lycos.co.uk is a free php/mySQL host if you are still looking for one.

And I took a look at the site... the color of the main frame is rather off-setting. You might want to go with a differnet color there... also, your affiliate buttons are nice red X's.

Have you tried looking at the color combos for some other sites? That might give you a hint...
