Hey Rhydon, I'm new here as well and am working on my own fan game! I'm not sure how much I could help you with a project but would love to bounce ideas off each other and what not! Maybe use each other as support/critique systems to better our projects as we learn the game making ropes!

Well, howdy there, Rhydon! You definitely came to the right place for all your ROM Hacking! In fact, we've got a nice board called the ROM Hacking section where you can get some assistance with ROM Hacking, as well as find the completed hacks there for good references!
Have a look at the beginner's lounge! As the name suggests, if you're just starting into ROM Hacking, or if you want some advice, some help, and so on, you can ask for whatever you need! And you can also bring forth and develop whatever small ideas you have for your hack, and someone can help you out there as well! Not to worry, the regulars over on the ROM Hacking section are quite helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to ROM Hacking in general, so I can safely say that you'll be in good hands, and will be able to get all of the assistance that you'll need! There is also a section called Tools, Tutorials & Resources where you'll find various tools to help develop your hacks! It'll be helpful if you're planning on creating various things for your hack, like sprites and scripts and stuff!
Unfortunately, I myself aren't so knowledgable when it comes to ROM Hacking in general, so, I can't be of much help in that regard, but I hope that you'll find everything that you're looking for over on the ROM Hacking section, and once again, don't be afraid on asking any questions that you have on the forum towards the ROM Hacking mods, and they'll help out as soon as they can. Rom hacking is a complicated process with much to learn, I'd suggest visiting the sections Dragon posted for you. There you can get loads of information on ROM Hacking and learn from some talented people. I'm also into ROM hacking, so if there's a question you have that's not answered by any of those threads, feel free to contact me.
