4th Gen New To Breeding-- Have a Question!

    I'm completely new to breeding (so I'm sorry for the "noob" like question) but do you have to breed two of the same pokemon (male + female) or can it be two from the same type? I've tried looking around and reading some things, but it's been confusing me. :p Thanks!
     
    First, welcome to the Community.

    Now, to answer your question...it has to be from the same Egg Group. There are...I think 18 different Egg Groups in the game, and each Pokemon fits into one or two of them. Actual type don't matter (for instance, Chimchar & Piplup are both in the Human Egg Group, so you could breed them). You can go to an online website like Serebii to see each Pokemon's Egg Group, or look in a Player's Guide.
