    When I want to retreat my active pokemon and need to pay the retreat cost, can I give up any energy card? Does it have to just come off of the pokemon I just retreated.

    please help
     
    Yes- you can give up any energy card to retreat.

    The cards have to be attached to the Pokemon you're trying to retreat, though.
