[LGPE] New Trader: Questions and Trades

    Hello, new trader looking for some answers and trades.

    Question:
    I'm aware of the five trade evolutions; Graveler (Al and regular), Kadabra, Haunter, and Machoke. Are they required to be in their second stage evolutions or could the first stage versions be traded with the same results? In other words, can I trade a Machop and expect it to go all the way to Machamp or does it have to be Machoke first?

    Trade:
    I'm in need of a Pikachu trade partner. Thanks to the Go app I have most of the exclusive ones already in my Dex, but many of them are of lower quality. I'm, of course, willing to farm up some Eevee exclusives for you; I'll do my best to farm up the best/desired quality ones.

    In addition, I could use someone to help with trade evolutions. Non-permanent trades unless we agree otherwise.

    Usually questions go in the Daily Chit-Chat thread, but you're requesting a trade as well so it should be alright.

    The Pokemon that you listed have to be in their second evolution to evolve during trade. So far in the series, there's no way to make any Pokemon evolve from its 1st stage to its 3rd stage in one go. Think about it this way: a child has to become a teenager first before they can grow into an adult. The same principle applies to 3-stage evolution Pokemon. Hope that helps!
     
    I didn't mean it in the sense of skipping the second evolution. I meant does the evolution to the third stage still work if do the trade with a first stage instead of a second.

    I'm not exactly sure as to how that's different than skipping the second evolution. The Pokemon must be in its second evolution to evolve into its final one. If it's traded while in its first evolution, then it simply trades like any other Pokemon and nothing happens.

    If you're talking about the second Pokemon being traded in the evolution trade, then that Pokemon can be anything; if a Machoke and Magikarp are traded, then the Machoke will still evolve to Machamp. But you can never make a Machop evolve into Machamp through trading. You must trade it as Machoke for it to evolve to Machamp. Hope this clears up any confusion you may still have.

    In Pokemon Pikachu I have shiny kabuto up for trade. If interested let me know.. here's a few I am wanting shiny Dratini, nidorina, Hitmonchan
     
    Not really interested in Shinies. Just want to complete my Dex. TY though.
