You know how we use ev to train our stats, but what about moves? Lets say for example once you get to level 20 your quilava can either learn defese curl, agility, howl , or a move that raises special attack, but its based on wich stat has higher ev. But of course they would have to explain it in the game, and also have an ev status bar. what do you guys think?

I think the idea of learning moves based on stats could have its advantages and drawbacks. The base idea being: some people like for their Pokemon to learn set moves, and this proposed training expansion might deter from their original training methods.

On the plus side, it gives a wider range of what Pokemon can accomplish. It also gives a feeling of individual growth versus set moves per species.

I believe this can be a possibility to expand the games systems to a finer area (for more advanced players). Perhaps it will be an option at the start of the game to choose something like 'natural growth' or 'set growth'.

Too ridiculous, moves are just...no. It would damage the competitive battling world with everything suddenly learning huge amounts of different moves.

Thats a good thing besides it's gonna be damaged anyways with the revamp to the battle system...This is really a good idea...Giving a different moveset for each type thats the biggest at the time would be better...example being if Spd is highest stat learn Spd moveset Move same for all other stats...That way if you improve another stat in between the levels required to get a new move you get one from different movesets making each Pokemon unique...

I think it would be too confusing, but maybe like at the beggining have like, difficulty settings or something, so that more advanced players can do that if they wish, but novice players can just train like they always have.

it doesn't really have to be that confusing, plus i bet when the new ev system was introduced it was kinda confusing (even tho the old one wasnt to easy )

I actually think this is a really neat idea, as long as it's explained clearly to players.

this. would. be. THE GREATEST THING EVERR :D sorry about the caps lock but i would love this! i mean that would open up a billion new doors when it comes to battling. No pokemon would be the same it'd all be something new and exciting when you battle :) def, if they dont do this this game then next game its a must have :D

I like the idea of customization to your pokemon to make them unique, but will this mean that each and every pokemon will have six distinct level-up movelists? Sounds a bit complex, perhaps leave EVs out of this and just give us a choice between two moves of fairly equal strength and/or utility at the usual 5-8 level intervals, and that'd be cool. :P

That kind of leveling would throw the game out of whack. It would make the game far too confusing, and some pokemon already learn multiple moves at once anyways. Plus this would make it easy for some people to abuse the diversity and make pokemon far too powerful in some areas, and make it far too difficult for more novice trainers to strategize with too many moves to choose from. This is what tm's, hm's, move tutors and egg moves are for.

A huge portion of people that play pokemon are kids or most likely don't even know what EV training/natures/etc is.
They'll get their pokemon to a certain level and learn a weird move and be like "WTF is this?!"

They get a variety of moves as it is, plus there are plenty of TMs for what they don't learn.
