    Hi

I just started playing emerald couple days ago. I need some with setting up a party, so far i decided to train

    Torchic
    Shroomish
    Ralts
    Spheal

thinking of two pokemons would be taillow and slakoth

I was wondering if its a good team to go against the elite four?

    Thanks

Keep shroomish until it gets spore, then let it evolve (this is around lvl. 48 or so). That way you can use spore+focus punch with Breloom to own things. You should get an electric pokemon (I'd recommend Manectric) to beat Glacia, she'd be a big problem for you with that team. Slakoth sucks, I'd replace that with a Manectric.

i would say that u should capture a marill aswell i mean u can then have leaf fire and water then train them up and defeat each gym

ahh lv. 48 man that a looooon time!

if you say tha good idea, then i will do it

so overall the pokemons would be...

    Torchic
    Shroomish
    Ralts
    Spheal
    Manectric
    and a water pokemon

what would be an alternative instead of marill... not really a fan, no offend

I say find a friend and get a better water pokemon. You can try Tentacool later on if you want, it can actually be pretty good given the right movws.

If you get lucky enough you can get feebas, and then a milotic for a very good wall, or maybe just a staryu that will become a starmie.

starmie/milotic rocks and spheal is part water

Ralts will be perfect for your team. And my second pokemon, after mudkip is a ralts too. If u raised ralts until lv 20, it will evolve into kirlia and lv 30 will evolve into a Gardevoir...
in lv 50, gardevoir learns hypnosis, it's quite useful for catching pokemon. especially rayquaza, groudon etc.

And, in lvl 60 it will learn Dream eater. it's strong indeed.... Inflicts serious damage on the foe and heal your self half one of inflicted damage....
    Hope this Help

Or maybe you should try seedot too... it will grows into nuzleaf and remember, don't evolve it before lv 49. because it will learn it's last move : Extrasensory, it's quite wicked, after that you can evolve it into shiftry with a leafstone.. you can get it by using thief or covet to a relicanth and trade the green shard with a leafstone in the hunter's house...

Well, another important fact in battling(and winning) against the Elite 4 is the ammount of potions u take in your bag before the battle. It is wisely to buy superior healing potions(like Hyper/Full) and with a calculated number depending on the level of your pokemon u go with into battle...let me say: 15-20 Hyper Potions, 10-15 Full Heal and try buying also Awakening, Revive(which is needed many times, so do try and buy many) and Anti-Poison Potions(although i cannot remember if the Elite uses Poison Type pokemon).

Also, if u can capture Rayquaza from its' hideout with the Master Ball(i think this item is found at the final TM Aqua hideout), that will be great. Legendaries are accepted. Rayquaza(level 70) can do OutRage Attack, which is a very powerful attack...

Hi i am max and i agree with jc rcw about milotic or the starmie but try training staryu up to about Lv40-50 or higher and then evolve staryu into starmie because it will have stronger moves than if you evolve it at a low level

I'd figure that to be quite obvious....the moves it needs doesn't require it to stay unevolved though, iirrc. If its purely special sweeper, then Psychic, Tbolt, and Ice Beam are all tms and Surf is an HM. The other moves are a different story.

great tips... i will keep that in mind.. kinda sucks to not evolve at their usual level.

    overall

    Torchic

    Shroomish
Until it gets spore, then let it evolve (this is around lvl. 48 or so).
    spore+focus punch with Breloom

    Ralts

    Spheal

    Manectric

    Staryu
    evolve Lv40-50 or higher

    any other tips?

go with a more physical based moveset. it has higher attack, a larger movepool, and moves that can increase attack.

    Shroomish

    level 54.

    breed for will-o-wisp.

    Spheal

    Manectric

    no clue.

    Staryu
    evolve Lv40-50 or higher

right, so we can get moves that we'll never use because Staryu learns recover pretty early and the other 4 options are all TM moves and Surf.

    any other tips?
