    Did anyone know, that at the end of Nintendo 64's life, they created a Disk Drive? It was only released in Japan. I knew that there was a Starfox game for use with it, but I don't know the rest of the games.

    If you know what games it had, post here, and any other comments as well.

    Wasn?t The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Master Quest released on it too? I?ve only played it on the GCN, but it was the only worthy game on the DD I can think of. @_@;

    Yeah, I've heard about the N64 DD. I only know of the Master Quest game on there, there were probably a few others.

    Yea, there was a F-Zero racing game too.

    I wonder why they decided to take such a drastic change near the very end of it's life.

    GCN had to be in developement when they made it...

    I had heard of it, but then when the playstation came out I had figured that was what they were referring to. I didn't know at the time that that was a completely different project.
    Have I not already talked to you about this?

    The Playstation was not made by Nintendo in any part, way, or fashion.

    It was not made to 'compete with Dreamcast'
    Because the Sega Dreamcast was AFTER Playstation and Nintendo 64.

    Why would Nintendo help its biggest competitor?

    I thought you might say that, so I spent the last five minutes looking thorugh my old game Informers and found it.

    Now they don't jsut come out and say it, but the data is there. Isue 110, in their video game trivia, question number 4 reads: " When Sega announced the release of the Sega CD, Nintendo countered and announced that it partnered with Sony to create its own CD machine. What was the name that the companies tentatively called it?

    Anwer choices were
    A:Ultra Drive
    B: PLaystation
    C: Super CD
    D: Nintendo CD

    And according to the answer key, it was choice B: Playstation.

    This wasn't about the Dreamcast then...IT WAS ABOUT SEGA CD

    But, the machine you speak of, was like I said, trashed before Playstation/N64.

    It was Sony's first attempt to make a game machine and it was trashed during its concept modeling days.

    Then Sony broke all ties with Nintendo, and made their own game system to compete with the Nintendo 64. They used the same name that they gave to the trashed concept model...Playstation.

    What you speak of, never really existed, because it died before it was born.

    Now, no more of this PS was made by Nintendo nonsense.

    He?s just saying he at some point in the past confused the project of the N64 DD with the PS project. Even though the timeframes, as you said were quite different. I think that?s what he?s saying, not that the PS was made by Nintendo.

    I don?t see where, in this thread he says that. He said that the project Nintendo and Sony worked on, named Playstation was to compete with the Sega CD. But then, as you said it was trashed. No?
    Anyways, the point is Nintendo didn't fashion the Playstation, and we should get back on the topic of the DD.

    this thing came out!?

    I was like, waiting for it for so long, but just kind of gave up hope..

    I remember rumors of like, MARIO 64 2, and I was just so happy. *_*

    but, it never happened.. ;_;

    mario 64 2? i guess it got delayed. Maybe that's essentially what Mario 64 X4 for DS will be. They tend to stall till other systems. For example, while looking through my GI's I found out that Super Smash bros. was originally intended for Super Nintendo, but ended up on N64.

    cool. Since it was out for such a small period of time, I was afraid pictures wouldn't be available.
