Bulbapedia or a google search may reveal some of those copyrighted game names, but they do not mean that those names will be used.

They don't even have to use those names and just copyright one after they've decided to use it and announce it - see Platinum, which caught people by surprise. they didn't even have a website domain for it, as it had been taken already by a small forum, I believe. So that take it that those names will be used or anything. :)

Also, on your second sentence... well, look at it this way. Pokemon, since RBY, has made millions of sales, each generation. D/P/Pt has also sold really well. And the main reason Nintendo makes games? To make money. As long as the games sell, I'm quite confident they'll keep on making more games.
