4th Gen Nintendo warns pokemon DP importers.

I feel bad for the people who have to wait I mean that would make me mad too if I had to wait til summer/winter I mean I'm dying to for it to come out in the US now but like it depends on your interest if you just want to own and play the game go ahead and import but me i wanna be able to trade and own my friends with my pokemon plus I'm actually getting pkm battle revolution for my Wii and i don't want any of those complications with the Japan game can't work with the US Wii.

Thats that European people have to wait even longer than people like me in the US, Im just getting it on June 19 my B-Day well Nintendo of Europe is being and losing business.

They could solve this whole problem if they just bothered to publish international games instead of localizations with half-year gaps. If Nintendo and everyone's so anal about porting, I think we can all wait for the game to be released with multiple languages and one final release date. It doesn't have too much of an effect on people like me who end up waiting for the NA release in either case. I have plenty to do to keep myself occupied until a game's release.

Off-topic: ROMs are legal. I checked on GBA's website and they say ROMs are legal...at least in the US. I'm not sure about the rest of the world though.
On-topic: I agree. I'm so sick of that EU has to wait so long after the US release to get it >_< what's the point of it?! Why does it take so long to transport the games from US to UK? They should be transported to us befre the release date! Damn you NOA!!!

I also agree with you they are both the same languages so why not ship them out at the same time. If it were me in charge I would give out the same languages on the same day

NoE can say all they want, I'll import if I wanna.

*tsk* Do they think that will stop us from importing, if anything they should release D/P in america and the UK at the same time.

I will import anyway, Nintendo can shut up. Fair play in the market isnt the point, because it will be highly likely that we in the UK will have to wait till next winter, summer if we are lucky jut for D/P, Nintendo always release pokemon games way later then America and I am sick of it.

Discuss.

Will there be Region coding? Because I bought an American Ruby in a shop near me way before it was released here.

Personally Ill be waiting for it, but i do think that it has been a long wait from sept to april. Although on the other hand they do have to set up the wifi. But the amount of time had better be worth it.

Well I live in Aus, so I'll just wait for it to come... But it is unfair for those who's country it isn't coming to...

There's also that amazing fact that even if we can;t battle locally there's a little gem called Wi-Fi, Ninty really needs to try harder if it's gonna persuade us not to import.

The reason why d/p dosnt come out us and uk/england at the same time is because us money value is greater than uk (no offence) so they first they use the country it was made in then sends it to the country with the most valuable money. Nintendo also has a thighter hold with usa they created the 3rd pokemon center now known as nintendo world. This is why d/p dont come out at every english speaking country oh and to Kaku nintendo may persuade uk and australia not to import by modifying the wifi feature like if you try to use wifi in uk/au with a us version of d/p it wont work due to the country (haven thought of that yet?)

You know, a while back on ebay people were selling fakes of Diamond and Pearl, and people were actually buying them! How sad...well, those people got busted and now its okay.

I imported Ruby version back in 2002 or 2003. It was a bad idea, because the internal save battery died a few months later, and I was left with a game that wouldn't save. I then bought the American version and didn't have any problems.
I won't be importing again.

Incorrect. The Japanese Gold and Silver releases do not have Celebi programmed as an event Pokémon.

I think you're right. I read it somewhere that you get it in another way. It works at the japanese versions, but I don't know anything about the US version.

And, going on a topic that many users on here should be aware of, the GB Pokemon games in particular are in danger of losing battery power and, hence, losing the ability to be used. Having backups (in this case, ROMs) of these games should be legal under the 117 because they have been known to cease normal function.

Are the pkmn games going to stop working because the lose battery power? I have never heard of that happening any GB games before. Is there any way I can copy the savefile would this happen. I am also worried that my gamecube memory will stop working (saving my Pokémon Box there) but its a Nintendo memory card so there should not be anything wrong with it. The others not from Nintendo ususally deletes the savefiles.

Man, what a stupid move, I used to live in the UK so I know what its like to wait months on end until I can enjoy a game that other countries have already had for ages. Nintendo of E. is probably gonna get a lot of flames for this.

I would say that we should all go move to America, or merge every language to make sure that this doesn't happen. But that's not gonna happen because there will be alot of complication. I guess we can only hope Nintendos everywhere finally realise what they're doing to their consumers by making one country wait more than another. It's just not fair, and should be illegal.

o.0

I'd certainly say so!!

But, well...I guess part of it is because America's further ahead on the technological standpoint then some other countries...
